  • Can you put a list of the songs used in the video?

  • woah i discovered my range is C3 to G5 although sung pretty badly but i could reach those notes

  • what's the song at 10:49 - 11:00?

  • @bobmyers1 it's called Exogenesis Symphony Part 1 Overture

  • @cpriicorn how did you make this?

  • by stockholm syndrom i think matthew hit G5 ( backing vocal track)

  • @MrZauberhut I don't hear a G5... but there is a Bb4 behind the G4. Perhaps that's what you're hearing?

  • 11:41 - 12:03, whats the song?

  • @528sebas Shine Acoustic... gorgeous tune.

  • 0 dislikes. the way it should be.

  • when does he hit C#6?

  • @alternativebassist agitated live 1999 Paris MCM theater

  • bellamy and muse not only sound like the society radiohead has spend decades making spine-tinglingly beautiful music critiquing, but even dress like they're asking to be canned as radiohead's commercial wannabe. The two bands are not comparable — setting aside the obvious musical quality gap of course, every time i see Muse on stage (on youtube, obviously), they just come off as a band that's waiting for Mattell to call them back with a quote on a new line of tug-string talking bobble-head dolls

  • @joshdavid247 sorry troll but they are nothing like radiohead

  • The last song, Muscle Museum live? Where?

  • the G4 comment is 11 pages after this comment. (right now on page 12)

  • was the title changed because of my G4 comment? XD

  • Oh...Muscle Museum...awesome..I thought his guitar was singing. But cool..I learned something new

  • @MW2Ultrajman Guitars can sing? :p

  • @sippe555 Yeah..ya know..like Peter Frampton

  • Alright I was wrong, but thanks for that educating read there.

    you have passed the test...

  • Just for those that wanna know, that last A/Bb5 was actually whistle voice

  • @TheOnionVampire Yeah, I agree.

  • @TheOnionVampire Do you have any idea what whistle is? It's falsetto...

  • @sippe555 do you have any idea what falsetto is? clearly not, you mean head voice. Whistle VOICE is when you massively tense your voical chords and a little scream-esque noise comes out.

i know what i'm talking about

  • @TheOnionVampire First off, topping out at Bb5 in whistle would be the most pathetic thing ever. Most men using whistle can hit at least mid 6th octave. Secondly, the timbre for whistle is completely different, and obvious to anyone who has ever actually studied vocals. Oh and third, I do not mean head voice. Terms like "falsetto" and "head voice" are completely useless since they don't have a proper definition. Every new vocal coach will tell you something different than the last one.

  • @TheOnionVampire But if you by head voice mean a part of the modal register, then you are wrong. The sound resonates from the head, but it is non-modal. You can hear a clear difference in weight and chest connection in singers like Plant and Mercury. There is no chest connection in Matt's high notes. If you still want to call that head voice, fine, but it's not a fact. Head voice hasn't actually been proven to exist since we don't have any tools to watch the depths of the vocal folds.

  • @sippe555 you love fighting with people don't you XD

  • A lot of Matt's high notes are what CVI would consider metallic like neutral, which is basically falsetto(by the most common definition, head voice for you) but with a metallic sound, which gives it an impression of connection. The F#5 in Plug In Baby is an example of this. Matt's notes over F#5 are all in the same register, but they have simply lost that metallic sound. Listen to his C6 in Agitated live at MCM. Or why not the ascending scream at the end of Overdue, same gig, that ends on Bb5.

  • @sippe555 are you done?

  • @TheOnionVampire I could add that there should never be such a thing as "tense" vocal cords when it comes to whistle. Any vocal coach can tell you that whistle should never be done with strain or tension. If you ever feel that sensation, you should stop right away. Whistle should always be relaxed. Look at any singer famous for whistle, and you'll see that there is no noticeable tension at all. While Matt's note is created with a lot of strain and pressure.

  • @TheOnionVampire If that was whistle, Matt's voice wouldn't survive a whole tour, let alone 15 years. Now I'm done :)

  • @TheOnionVampire No you're wrong, he is using metal-like neutral.

  • why does the MB1 look incredible in every colour? hhe should have several of all, although 140 destroyed in absolution tour, he really needs them

  • Matthew "G4" Bellamy !!!

  • and the song at 14:46 - 15:04 the F#5 ?

  • whats the song at 0:24 - 0:30 with the Bb2 ?

  • @mouad100 United States of Eurasia. Live... somewhere.

  • 7:35 ? song?

  • @poptart2345 Yes Please

  • @cpriicorn aaaaaaaaaahh OK.

  • @cpriicorn you played the one ate 4:38 twice XD

  • song at 11:30?!?!?!

  • @bmart999 Recess

  • im a guy, and i managed to squeeze out a g#5 and took A2 with ease.

if i were to sing showbiz, the microphone would have to make the sound 5000% higher in the end...

    matt is amazing

  • Geez matt loves G4

  • Mmm excuse what note does he hit during "Cave"' chorus? Is that an A4?

  • @Astomare yes it is

  • His highest note is actually C6

  • @SpectraNorway If you're talking about Hyper Music that wasn't Matt

  • @poptart2345 It's from Agitated live at the MCM Cafe. That was definitely Matt.

  • @cpriicorn lol I love the scream. YOOOOOW!!!!

  • @poptart2345 Yes it was :)

  • @sippe555 It was a fan screaming! He wasn't even near the microphone!

  • @poptart2345 I have videos from completely different places in the audience all with the scream clearly audible, AND video showing that Matt stood by the mic. Do you really need me to link them? (Or maybe it was a fan that could scream louder than the music)

  • @sippe555 Could you prove that it was Matt? Cause I hardly believe it was him. EVEN if it was, the agitated note was way cooler

  • @poptart2345 ...okay, which one is more believable. Either Matt made a short "WOOH" in the mic, OR someone in the audience made it, and it was so loud that it could be heard over the whole venue? watch?v=9btSinxAm0s 0.17 in that video watch?v=tojkgvSRvYQ 0.14 here watch?v=swR8So8e9kg 0.12 here watch?v=U2sZGNSE-HM 0.20 here. Is that enough proof?

  • @sippe555 I still don't know. In the first two it doesn't look like him, but in the 0.20 one...............

  • @poptart2345 What do you mean doesn't look like him? 1. He clearly stands by the mic when the note is hit, as you can see in the first vid. So that argument was complete bullshit. And how hard is it to understand that it's not physically possible to scream so loud that it would be heard on all those recordings without a mic? Unless several people screamed identical C6 notes at the exact same time of the song ofc.

  • @poptart2345 Simply, he stands by the mic at the time of the scream, what can possibly lead you to believe that it doesn't look like him?

  • @sippe555 1. it doesn't sound like him

    2. His voice is getting lower. I don't think he has the range for 6th or maybe even high fifth octave notes anymore.

    3. It sounds like every other fan scream I've ever heard.

    4. The timing is a bit off. Don't know if the vid was out of sync, if I'm losing my mind, or if I am completely and utterly wrong.

    5. I may just want to believe that I'm right.

  • @poptart2345 You clearly have no idea what you're talking about. Matt hits a G5 in EVERY performance of Knights of Cydonia, at EVERY gig. He also hits a G5 in Bliss. And that it sounds like a fan scream is irrelevant. Do you think that Matt's voice is somehow magically different than a fans? Of course it sounds alike...because they are both random screams. The timing isn't off at all. It's at the same place in the song on all the links.

  • @sippe555 and YOU clearly misunderstood what I said. He used to be able to hit the showbiz and Micro Cuts notes with ease. In a performance of Micro Cuts, Leeds maybe not sure, he struggles to hit the notes in the chorus, and doesn't even attempt the final scream in the song. How can he hit a C6 if he can't hit a G#5 anymore. Plus, about the chorus of Micro Cuts, it is easier to hit notes if you ascend from a lower note. If he didn't ascend in Micro Cuts, who knows if he would've hit the note?

  • @poptart2345 The notes in the chorus are sung, and not screamed aimlessly, which is why it is harder. And you said that you didn't think he had the range for high fifth octave notes. You didn't say G#5. And the chorus of Micro Cuts only goes up to G5 anyway. And he dodged the final scream back in 2002 too. And the last part...I'm not even going to comment on that nonsense...

  • @sippe555 G#5 is a high fifth octave note. The final scream in Micro Cuts is a G#5 and the same with Showbiz. It IS much easier to hit a note while ascending. And the last part.....I'm not even gonna comment on THAT nonsense.

  • @poptart2345 Yes, and so is a G5, which he can obviously hit several times a night. I know that the final scream in Micro Cuts is a G#5, what is your point?

  • @sippe555 He used to hit the noes earlier and now in the Nassau concert which I attended and loved btw he barely even sang SMBH without struggling. (are you trolling or is this not as heated as I think it is)

  • @poptart2345 Like I just said, he still hits the notes. He skipped the note in Micro Cuts as early as 2002, so that is nothing new, and has nothing to do with his voice being lowered. As you may know, G#5 was done in Showbiz at that time. And how does he struggle with SMBH? And how much do you really know about the subject? Judging from this "I did a video and it said I have a vocal range of D4-B2 Tenor. I dont know what that means. Is that Normal? ", I'd say that you don't really know much...

  • @sippe555 Are you some kind of a stalker? You have to view MY channel? wooooooooooow. He did struggle with Supermassive Black Hole at the Nassau Coliseum in 2010. So he skipped the note in 2002, he may have been recovering from laryngitis at the time or something like. He could have been recovering when he skipped it at Leeds. We don't know. What we do know is that it disproves neither of us and P.S. what does MY vocal range have to do with anything at all.

  • @poptart2345 lol, have to? We've been arguing for quite a while, and I looked at your profile. OMG I'M SUCH A CREEP(I'm a weirdo). He skipped the note SEVERAL times during 2002, and it has nothing to di with laryngitis, since...you know...that would affect ALL of his singing, not just one specific note in one song... Your vocal range has nothing to do with it, your statement does, since it clearly proves that you don't really know much about the subject.

  • @sippe555 yes you are a creep and a weirdo. I did some digging around on YOUR channel and noticed that you are subscribed to Radiohead. Don't be surprised if I spam your mail later with Muse videos XD. I don't remember posting this "statement" If you look at my video, it's obvious that I share the channel and have a pretty high voice. NOT B2 capable. Nice. Responding to yourself? funny. lol click the correct button next time

  • @poptart2345 Wait...why would you spam it with Muse videos? You are aware that I AM a Muse fan, or did you miss that 2 of my 3 videos that I've uploaded are about Matt Bellamy's vocals? And no, I did not care to look at any of your videos.

  • @sippe555 I would spam it with Muse videos because you are subscribed to Radiohead

  • @poptart2345 But what would be the point? I would get it if I didn't like Muse...but I do like Muse, and I certainly won't give a damn if you link me Muse videos...

  • @sippe555 wonderful, then I will spam your mail with aaaaaaaaall the muse videos I can think of. Plus, don't send me the links, just tell me the years he hit these notes

  • @poptart2345 Like I said, every performance(every performance of Bliss since he added the falsetto scream, not counting the few times where he is off-pitch by a semitone). So 2011. He has been hitting G5s for over 10 years, and he hasn't stopped yet.

  • @sippe555 has he shown signs of struggle? at all?

  • @poptart2345 He did struggle with Micro Cuts at R&L. It can clearly be heard since his phrasing is way off. Watch Knights of Cydonia at Fuji rock 2010 for an amazing performance. Great falsetto.

  • @sippe555 well, I would never say hitting micro cuts would be easy. ever. nope. But this may be my second to last response unless you want to continue talking less like an a**. I found something that might prove YOU right if true. At lollapalooza 2011, watch?v=Qwlj_HFLZ7M I believe there is a note higher than Showbiz that Matt is CLEARLY singing at 2:39. It is most certainly not the guitar. I think.

  • @poptart2345 Haha, sorry but there is nothing there. It's a G5 at 2.35, but nothing higher at 2.39.

  • @sippe555 dang, thanks anyway. sounds higher. weird!

  • @sippe555 I've compared the two notes with two different tabs. The note in koc is definitely higher than showbiz. Also higher than his highest showbiz falsetto, reading 2006

  • @poptart2345 it's a b4. You're getting it confused with the guitar. Because his voice follows the guitar which goes up to G, then it jumps to B and he goes down an octave. And I'm pretty sure that the Showbiz falsetto at Reading 2006 is a G#5 too, just as the studio version.

  • @sippe555 Back to the "sound part. It doesn't sound like it is his guitar.

  • @poptart2345 You ARE hearing his voice, but you are imagining that it rises along with the guitar. If you try to listen to the guitar, you will hear that when the guitar goes up, his voice is still down there in a relatively low falsetto(4th octave)

  • @sippe555 unless a guitar can play two notes at the same time that would blend together perfectly and require an imposible finger stretch, I don't see where you're coming from

  • @poptart2345 I'm saying that when the guitar hits a G5, so does Matt, When the guitar hits a B5, Matt goes down an octave to a B4.

  • @sippe555 did your computer run out of batteries or something? I proved YOU right after an argument lasting four pages of youtube comments and you're not going to rub it in? not even a little?

  • @poptart2345 You didn't prove me right, since the note wasn't higher than G#5 :p And no, I'm not going to rub it in.

  • @sippe555 1. I'm pretty convinced IM right this time

    2. lol I have both top comments. PLEASE don't just thumbs them down. That would be a d**** move

  • @poptart2345 I am actually talking to the creator of this video as we speak, and he agrees with me :)

  • @sippe555 :( WHY CAN'T I EVER BE RIGHT! :'(

  • @sippe555 whoa whoa wait, HOW are you speaking to cpriicorn right now?

  • @poptart2345 Uhm...on skype?

  • @sippe555 I seriously doubt that

  • @poptart2345 You seriously doubt what? That I'm talking to him on Skype? You know, it's not Matt fucking Bellamy. It's a guy who has made a range video(I have actually made one too, and notewatched loads of singers), and this guy DOES have skype, and is a member of the muse board :p

  • @sippe555 I'll give knights of cydonia a second glance.....

  • @sippe555 ............ Matt's voice is almost inaudible during that part but I heard it nonetheless

  • @poptart2345 Matt's voice isn't close to inaudible. Are you sure you gave me the right time? 2.39?

  • @sippe555 I did, when the guitar hits the high note and matt goes low, he sings it pretty quietly compared to the guitar

  • @poptart2345 Compared to the guitar, yes. But you'd have to be deaf or really inexperienced not to hear his voice in that...

  • @sippe555 yeahh lol. What about overdue mcm 1999 Although he ascends I'd like to know about the note at 2:06 Don't think it's nearly as high as Showbiz but it is a beautiful, perfect note. Isn't it ;)

  • @sippe555 hmmmm. I may be wrong again but when I listen to it again it sounds higher than showbiz.

  • @poptart2345 I showed it to cpriicorn since he's better at pitching than me. It's around Bb5, which is higher than Showbiz, yes :) Nice note. No idea how I've missed it despite having seen the whole gig several times, lol.

  • @sippe555 yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees!!!! FINALLY! Only took two videos took two videos to find one. Do you think he could sing that now?

  • @poptart2345 Probably not in that way. But hitting a Bb5 or over? Definitely.

  • @sippe555 I wish they would perform Showbiz, micro cuts, megalomania, or agitated one more time. All my favorites right there and they'll never play them again....... Atr least they will never play Showbiz ever again

  • @sippe555 lol listen to this. You will be disgusted XD watch?v=3iQkA2ZxGuY&feature=related

  • @sippe555 I checked in and searched. It IS a Bb5.

  • @poptart2345 What is? The Overdue note? Or the KoC one? :p in either case, where did you find info about it?

  • @sippe555 The overdue note. Good ol' google told me. I double checked with a less reliable source. My ears. I used the how to find your vocal range in 1 minute video and figured out that it was a tad bit lower than the B5 they have in the video

  • @poptart2345 Yes, I understand that you used google. I want to know where you found the info. Google doesn't HAVE info, it links you to it. Wheeeere?

  • @sippe555 First, I searched Muse wiki, then Wikipeeeeeeedia

  • @sippe555 Butterflies and Hurricanes Glastonbury 2004 has an A. I never know if A5 or B5 is higher but

I think the overdue note was higher

  • @sippe555 K I've got to go to bed. It is 1:36

  • @sippe555 How did you like that I don't care about an Uprising video. Pretty dissapointing, huh,

  • @sippe555 If the note I've mentioned IS higher than showbiz, can you tell me what it is?

  • @sippe555 I'll be listening so don't expect another respect within 5 minutes

  • @sippe555 and no, I didn't care to look at any of your videos

  • @sippe555 And no, it doesn't disprove any of us, but you were, once again, the one who brought it up and used it as an argument. I am simply disproving what you are trying to use to prove your point. Frankly, you haven't really come up with a lot of arguments so far... I proved that he was by the mic, I proved that he can sing at least G5 on a regular basis, I proved that the sound was too loud to be a fan...and you proved that you don't really have any proof at all.

  • @sippe555 also funny how I am trying to prove a mature point, yet in my video, I use prettty much the gayest voice I can XD

  • @sippe555 1. You did NOT prove that he can hit the G5 still, you did prove he was BY the mic not the one making the noise, and this is fun

  • @poptart2345 The G5 is in Knights of Cydonia and Bliss, and he hits it at pretty much every performance. The Hyper Music video with the C6(notice that it's not the same note as a G5...) has nothing to do with it. I can show you the G5s if you'd like...

  • @sippe555 oh wait, no I won't cause I'm not a jerk

  • @poptart2345 Says the guy who calls a certain type of speaking "gay".

  • @poptart2345 And also, how the hell would you know if he hit a note with ease? It could be really painful, but you wouldn't have idea just by watching and listening.

  • @sippe555 My point was to tell you that he used to hit the notes with strength. They sounded perfect.

  • @poptart2345 Which is in no way proof of that he can't hit a C6 now. It doesn't even help you with your argument. I lose my power at around G5/G#5 too, doesn't mean I can't produce sounds a lot higher for a short period of time.

  • @sippe555 How did we switch from whether that is even him to THIS anyway Getting back to my argument, the note in the Micro Cuts chorus is about the same length as this "scream" so it doesn't help you either.

  • @poptart2345 And he CAN hit the chorus note of Micro Cuts, so it doesn't disprove what I'm saying. In fact, it's pretty fucking irrelevant. You were the one who brought it up.

  • @sippe555 he can hit it, but not without a huge push. It also doesn't disprove what I'm saying either

  • @SpectraNorway nah it hits C#6. Barely, but it is still a C#6

  • i bet doesnt care ahhahahhaha he just wants to rock out!

  • @KJFilmProductions best coment round here i think

  • What's the song at 13:36?

  • @goonerbeagunner4life The song is Overdue. From Showbiz

  • Mais ouai! C'est tellement transformé qu'on confond facilement avec un instrument ou une transformation vocale. Je demande à voir sans effet sur son micro. Et la technique vocale bof. Il chante juste, il s'amuse bien mais il couine comme une souris quand même

  • So, TECHNICALLY he is a more skilled vocalist than Thom Yorke. I know Thom Yorke has hit a higher note than all of those before, but woopty shit, that shit was weak, thin, and squealy.

  • @dopejoel Their vocal styles are nothing alike, you can't compare the two.

  • @cpriicorn You're making a comparison between the two by saying that they are nothing alike ;)

  • @dopejoel Vocal range does NOT equal technical skill

  • @sippe555 True, but it takes technical skill for one to utilize their vocal range in the same way that Matthew Bellamy does XD

  • @dopejoel You shouldn't judge how good a singer is by the pitch of their notes, but the quality of the sound

  • @poptart2345 so technically you're right

  • @dopejoel lol didn't mean to respond to myself. Anyway, you were right. Thom's note was higher but he sounded like Robert Pattinson. That's not good

  • @poptart2345 Yeah, man. What other vocalists do you like ?

  • @dopejoel Gerard Way, Rivers Cuomo, and James Hetfield. Thats prety much it of course besides my favorite, Matt

  • My word, his falsetto is really impressive!!!!!!

  • what do you mean "singing in to an amp"? how?

  • in my opion he copy jeff buckley

  • AHAH! What's the last one? I mean, I know it's muscle museum...but when did that happen? lol

  • @MaraPapillon Way back in 2000. The band were forced to mime, but Matt convinced the organisers to let him sing with a backing track. After overloading the mic (in this video), the organisers cut off the song. Chris and Dom also switched instruments, though there's no video of it. Search "hey you crazy kids" for the whole thing. :)

  • @cpriicorn Thanks! I doesn't really surprise me...they hate to mime ^^

  • That was amazing! I was most happy when you put songs with his harmonies in it because some of those harmonies are beautiful and must be recognised! I love Muse so much, my favourite band forever.

  • Could anyone tell me what's the song that starts at 12:04? I recognise it and it's driving me mental.

  • @TheGkboi Shrinking Universe :)

  • @cpriicorn Thank you! :D

  • This is really cool. Thank you for this And the proof of Matts genius !!

  • all I've gotta say is:

    MATT IS A FREAKIN' ARTIST!

  • In falsetto he sounds like a fucking guitar its amazing !!

  • he should deffo get a blue manson like that from 11 minutes onwards :)

  • I <3 Muse, Matt is awesome!!! Nice done :)

    btw, what's the song at 10:34? I can't recognize it :S

  • @XxAgAmAiVexX That's Apocalypse Please. The interlude is hard to recognise on its own, but it fits so well into the song. Cool huh? :)

  • @XxAgAmAiVexX its take a bow! excelent song :D

  • I would've put in the Showbiz clip from when they played at MCM in 1999. He hits a higher note than in the studio version. Same with Recess from that same gig.

  • @Kenshin11212 Hey, thanks for that. I knew there were some Showbiz performances where he hits A5, but after working on this video for hours, I couldn't be bothered looking for them. :P

  • <
