At first, the crickets' noise bothered me. However, it eventually faded into the music itself. :) It seems that the universe is like an orchestra, all in harmony even when creating what some would consider to be chaos.
Nature is no fool. Everything from crickets to Gods and Goddesses are dancing in Unity to this music. Incidentally, crickets make that sound in order to attract a mate! So...obviously the cricket was "turned on" by the music! :)) I wonder how many other natural ladies and gentlemen have had a romantic experience or two due to this profound music??? Anyways, to change the subject a little bit...it's not simply the brilliance of Shiv Kumar Sharma here. Ustad Zakir Hussein is the best also.
In real music, everything that makes a sound or anything that happens during the performance (barring a fist fight or something destructive)becomes a part of that special time. I'm responding to a response I read concerning the annoying crickets. I don't think that those crickets are annoying the musicians in anyway. On the contrary, if I'm not mistaken, I'm sure that they'd hear it and recognize it as pure, nature responding in unity. Anything goes with "real" music. No B.S. here.
I love this Indian classical music. I'm interested in musicians that are willing to embrace the beautiful nature of the mother earth and include it into their performances which is what this music is really all about. It's nice to see musicians who aren't ego maniacs although they have tremendous fame. This guy is special. Only in the very old days and only occasionally do western artists do "open air" concerts during the day. 5 stars.
@shaniring I second that. I have been lucky enough to sit through one of Panditji's Concerts live :). Great experience.. there were like five hundred people sitting around him on mattresses and rugs spread on the grass.
No one has posted any thing nor I'm able to get copy of this beautiful raaga from any music house. Can any one post where can i get copy of this as my ailing grand father wants to hear it. Thanks upfront.
Also, there is Dhun Mishra Kafi and Raagmala along with this Raaga,
@suhassuhas100 You can find the Raag Kirwani performance on the rajshri website. Click the link above, go to the website, and you'll see it under "Concerts".
Just listen to the silence in the huge crowd!! you can even hear the crickets!! i first thought that they were out near my window!! This is truly GREAT !!! :D
PS is this Kaushi kanada? OR is it sampurna Malkauns?
i think that its the former. thanx for this Video!!!

very nice ,thanks for hosting youtube. i dont like the ads rubbish though but i guess it pays the bills. ha ha . this music is of the heavenly variety. true chill out.
furthermore - i do not buy any of your (lousy mainstream) shit - what does you (youtube; we all know, that you shouldn't be evil) forces to send commercials? arent you wealthy enough with adwords, adXXX and so on? youtube is really cool, but commercials like this aren't - to me. i hope you will not loose your monopoly or majority, but maybe, this will happen.
At all: sorry for the negative energy, but it's just reflecting ;)
i'm only tryin to write this in english (too less space in the comment box (for me))
i've had a sarah connor commercial before this(!) video - wtf!?! - it says germanys biggest voice - do not believe this!!! she is one voice. not more and not less. but it's interessting to see an english singing german "published" as germanys biggest voice. maybe they wanted to say, that she is german.
at all you high-thinking-media-posting-intellectuals - you don't impress me much.
Why are those 4 morons sitting in the back for no apparent reason ? They might as well sit in the front and appreciate the dexterity of these geniuses on their respective instruments.
Just reading the postings, I see experts in classical indian. I only enjoy to listen and can not distinguish types of beats. As central European it is amazing me. the crickets complete the warm eve I can feel also hearing in the frozen Europe. I remember Hussaine and Sharma in '85.
Does anyone hear the crickets being in time with him? at one point the crickets stop just before he plays this one melody that blows me away, right around 13:30ish. its like the cricket was really digin on this concert. i listen to this one over and over again. they are really tapping something truly divine
........ amazing is an understatement..... words can hardly describe when i hear and see great masters such as these two performing in concert.........
huh..u illeterate..."Tabla"..not "Tubla". And ya Zakir Miyan is a great Indian, who play it like a GOD does. Ustad Allah Rakha ke bete jo hain..!! khair allah tumhen akl naseeb kare..! ha ha
Sale tere baap tubla / tabla ki spelling kayam ki hai ? UST. ALLAH RAKHA saheb ke do aur bhi bete hai ! jahil gandu ,talk only about god /God if u hav seen him/her. u brainwashed blowass.
clip from 51:00 to 56:00 - it is pointless trying to count on the fingers the way SK Ji toys around with the taal and then ZH Ji does his wizardry on the tabla. Both maestros are playing with taal like kids play with marbles. Notice how everyone's heads sitting in back are so caught up with the flow. Simply magic. Thanks for posting this recording.
this raag is so melodious that it makes me cry whenever i listen to it. the raag is kaunshi kanada. God bless u for posting this video on youtube. Thanks
There is nothing on Earth like a long, elaborate, epic rendering of an aesthetically and spiritually fulfilling raga, played by brilliant musicians such as Pandit Sharma and Ustad Hussain!
waaah..very nicley done..thanx for sharing...it's roopak..7 beats..ustad ji also mixes jhaptal..of 10 beats into the 7 beat roopak..the masterful way ustad ji does it is amazing..makes it seem so easy...kya baat hai..
Magical music I had this album on 33 rpm.
