I was having trouble getting up this year after years of being able to. Was able to get up on the first try after watching this video. Woohoo! Thanks Greg!
I love it how they use a ski pole to pull people out of the water. It's cheating! Get your ski tip out of the water and white knuckle the rope. That's how you get up on one ski.
it took me a while to get it but he's right. ball up and keep your feet under you and straight, and hold on tight. It helps me to close my eyes for the first few seconds bc the water is splashing in ur face a lot worse on 1 ski.
Great lesson Greg I was wondering why i have so much problem with both feet in boots like i used to seem to go to left as soon as boat starts to pull and end up going over used to do it when younger but cant seem to anymore , also does it make a differance what foot should be in front etc
Greg, through many summers of skiing of become adept at doing a dock jump start with about 2.5 big loops of slack to let the boat pick up speed. But I've never slalomed w/a double boot and would like to try. Is it much more difficult? I saw you said put more pressure on the back boot, is that helpful? Been skiing about 15 yrs. Thank you, or anyone who can advise!
Great video, but it would be nice if you could touch on some of the problems beginners face and what to do to fix them, for example what to do if you are have problems falling to the side, falling backward, etc.
or just do trial and error.

use a water ski handle, keep in a ball and the tip up, let the boat pull you up and do not have the rope attached to a tower...use a ski boat

What's your advice for a beginner that keeps falling to the inner side of his body not being able to keep the sky on a vertical position?
Zeeee13 2 years ago
@Zeeee13 keep the rope against the ski to keep up
