It's okay, but I wouldn't say it's awesome. I's kinda annoying to listen to, and all I can hear in there that's any good is the singing. The tune is too repetitive, and so are the lyrics. Half the song is the word "lies," and I've heard a lot of songs like that. I'll listn to more stuff before I cast judgement on the band, but I don't like this song very much.

In response to the previous comment, perhaps Lies won't reach No. 1 on the charts as a single, but I doubt it is what McFly really cares about.

'Lies' is a big step up from their old style. The band has matured musically and I suppose that is what they want to show everyone out there.

I personally love the song though. The lyrics are meaningful, the tune is catchy and the bass solo was wicked! It'll definitely get a good position on the charts if not first.

I really expected pov to be the next song out and agree that pov and corrupted are the best songs on the album. I'm really disappointed because i don't think this one will do very well. I just don't get it. I'm a huge mcfly fan but I just think they keep picking the wrong songs to release as singles. This song isn't that good and is nowhere near the class of either POV or Corrupted. One of those two released as a single would I think have had people buying who hadn't previously bought their stuff. Just like one for the radio which was the wrong one to release. I love these guys and they are so talented but this is another single that won't reach number one.

I actually have high hopes for this single. Its one of my favourites. I think POV would have been a better choice than One For the Radio by far, but they made a good decision with lies. It's not that well written, you're right, but the tune is catchy enough to make it. The bass solo is a plus as well. I'm not a big fan of corrupted. Its not mcfly.
