BMW X5M 0-60:4.2-4.5 60-0: 116ft skid: .91g 1/4 mi:12.8 but a "RACE CAR" the Corvette Zr1 is only .4 seconds faster to 60mph does .15 better on the skid pad stops 20 ft shorter and beats the SUV in the 1/4 mi by 1.3 seconds? with those numbers....sure you can get girls with a vette...but you can haul more of them with the suv...and if you are a family man...you can pack the kids up and still barely lose to a car that is considered "KING"

@Miike92 I've been to dealerships and seen the sticker on a x6m it was $94,000 and $104,000 for a Nissan GTR. Now I know the GTR is faster but the X6m is faster with the Hammann Chip 670HP. That and the BMW will have maintenance included.

@m19921992 first of all faster and more horsepower is different. For example, a lamborghini may have more horsepower than a GTR, but the GTR is faster when tested on a track. Plus any suv or sport ultility over 60,000 is ridiculous.

No, the C30 is a hatchback, by Volvo. And by the 4runner not being able to compete, I meant by everything except off road capeability. And the X5 M is 100% better on track than the Range Rover Sport will ever be.

The X5 M has a 4.4 liter V8 offering 555 hp, while the Rover Sport will have a 5 liter v8 with only 510 hp.

BMW= smaller engine, better performance.

The BMW is more aerodynamic, and has a better, more sporty handling.

Sport SUVs are pretty stupid, but if you want one, then the X5 M is the best choice.

The x5 has a 5-series sedan base, unlike normal suvs which have a truck base. also, the engine is a 4.4L bi-turbo which gives it more torque than the M5. i have 2003 x5 4.4i and it is truly a great suv and a fun to drive even if it doesn't have the M badge!!!

shittt man i've already ordered my x5 M its suppose to come at the end of october apparently. my current x5 (05 4.8is) has had only 2 problems since i've had it and it has 100K miles now. i had the starter and the window regulator replaced. thats all.

so if you know the basics of maintaining a car, then BMW's shouldn't give you problems (well at least mine didn't)

I've found that to be the case, i've never had a significant problem with any of my bimmers. Though i took my M3 in for repairs about 5 times in as many years all but one of them were due to minor nitpicky problems with light circuitry and the like. The only major one was a brake replacement which wasn't actually necessary, i merely thought they were getting a tad soggy.

The performance on this vehicle is surprisingly amazing. For one the quarter mile is 12.8 seconds, which is fabulous. To say a sports car doing 12.8 quarter mile is already good, but this is a SUV doing 12.8, which is just simply amazing.

On the other hand "FerrariandBMW" you have a point that fast SUV is not useful. So I gave you a positive on the comment.

I think its just for people that love the power, but have a big family, so a sedan just don't cut it for them (M3 sedan).
