  • this is funny

  • This is a nice meditation! I think it could really help people that are starting mindfulness meditation as well.

  • @allihere Try observing that you are noticing that he says "notice" many times. Allow this feeling to be. Work on keeping your attention on your breath or entire body. Hope this helps :)

  • yes, he says"NOTICE" waaaaaay too many times.IT IS DISTRACTING. He needs a thesaurus to say that word in different ways. I would have really liked this if it werent for that. He has a good voice for hypnosis.

  • thankyou Jim, I needed that

  • After hearing this, I felt absolutely 100% happy. As I was once a perfectionist, I felt like I had been waiting for someone to tell me this all my life, and whether or not it was true, it gave me permission, just for ten minutes, to believe it. I'm saving this to my favourites and will do my best to play it during my sadder moments.

  • @EllenRebecca3 Hi Ellen, I keep coming back to this one too. Jim

  • Dang, what was i supposed to notice again?? :p

  • Thank you for this wonderful meditation :-)

  • I think everything's perfect because it creates balance. You can't have light without shadows.

  • No more drugs people.

  • @juicearibe Absolutely NOT !!! All Drugs...and Quality bourbons should be forwarded to the proper authorities..,either Mr.Keith Richards or myself werein they will be "disposed" of in the proper manner. Cheers

  • Thank you Jim. This Meditation helps me appreciate the beauty in all things... especially the one we all have within. -M

  • Why are there paragraph long arguements on a relaxation video? The guy's trying to help us calm down, and everyone's jumping up and getting pissy over nothing. It's not as if the point of this is to be a perfect person, really. Just the perfect balance of tranquility.

  • @bloodprincess800 lol, they are all just stressed....

  • @bloodprincess800 Sooo True ! Jim does GREAT work and I listen to him often

Very Thankful to him. However far removed from this platforms message jduran9123

comments may be, I find it most refreshing that someone speaks out about the Great injustices subjected on the masses by a few outrageously rich and powerful people who have perverted American Ideals of a common people and FAIR Play ! Bravo

  • Love it....!!!

  • This made me cry. Thank you.

  • great, and does not have the exorcist thingy at the end hehe

  • Very nice, thank you

  • I have difficulty seeing repression & resistance as a characteristic of perfection. Maybe I'll "see" more in time.

  • I think, Uglyscukuggly, that what he is referring to in a perfect world is humility. There are so many parts of the puzzle of life I don't understand and never will. I think the word perfect is about acceptance of our own limitations and embracing our ability to change our attitude to gratitude for what we experience -whatever it is-this takes practice-that is why it is called the practice of meditation. Thanks for reading! Namaste!

  • if everything were perfect i wouldnt be looking up stress relief vids on youtube. this premise didnt work for me

  • @cruhg. You should now see your response as perfect.

  • Thanks--this is great stuff

  • aeternum: Even you have a 'perfect' soul. The purpose if this meditation is to encourage the physical 'you' (in all of your ignorance) to align with the spiritual 'you', your higher self.

  • your a wierdo just a wee bit!

  • this perfect means to except what is....to find bliss in the moment. To DESIRE to be perfect gets one anxious so to just accept it as is as perfect is what this is

  • what LuthienKess said...

  • I highly disagree with this, I've never met a perfect person, and even when I think about the best I've ever done, it comes up very short of perfection.

According to this guy, I already am perfect. That's post-modernist bull. He says, "No need to change ourselves" Really? Since he's speaking to everyone...

    The rapist is perfect?

    The murderer is perfect?

    Hitler is perfect?

I doubt, this guy's definition of "perfect" needs to be taken out back and left in the dumpster.

  • way to be literal about it.

  • @ashoema0 *shrugs*

Meditation is about coming closer to the truth. Why would I intentionally lead myself into a lie?

Why would I let someone else lie to me like this? I may as well be listening to someone tell me up is down. It's blatently wrong.

I am not perfect. My thoughts, breathing, feelings, and energy are not perfect. I doubt his are either.

I come across bluntly becuase this is wrong. This may make me feel better, but it leads away from truth. This is self-destructive.

  • If you think that this is real meditation, then up is REALLY down for you. This is nothing like meditation, this is guided relaxation, for the "new age" and what have you. If you want real meditation, watch a movie on Ch'an or Zen Buddhism.

  • chillax, i wouldn't take it too literally; not all meditation has to be serious. just think of it as a nice, relaxing and motivating voice to drift off to =] no need to be self-destructive at all

  • Hmm, after reading the previous comments, I guess I get it better.

Perfect, in my impression of the word, comes with the implication of 'good', I don't believe that perfect evil is possible. I believe that evil is more than just the opposite of good, it is the opposite of perfection... But w/e, words are so useless.

  • Practice makes perfect...but no one is perfect..so why am i practicing?

No one is perfect. just a fact. supposed to relax you not make you rage.

  • "Supposed to relax you"

Let me try explaining this another way.

If I knowingly convinced an anorexic she was fat, wouldn't I be commiting a horrible crime?

So how is convincing an imperfect person that they are perfect any different?

I can't see how this could be relaxing for anyone.

    Finally,

Is it relaxing when someone tells you that up is down?

Is it relaxing when someone tells you light is dark?

Why is it relaxing when someone tells you imperfection is perfect?

  • @LuthienKess lol sum1 doesnt believe in meditation? lol nice well to me the point of meditation is not to stick my head in the sand but rather to think more clearly becuase when i am upset i will act irationaly but if im upset and take deep breath or mediatate im able to face the problem and deal w/it w/out doing somthing stupid and im able to see evry1's points of view fo the situation not just mine.

  • @invokd0826 Oh, that's exactly what I mean. The only difference between my meditation and this guys meditation is that I meditate on REALITY. If I'm upset and need to think rationally about what's happening, I want to rationally think about reality, not imagine myself as I am as perfect.

Only by admitting our weaknesses can we ever overcome them.

  • OMG boring..

  • Just to finish my thoughts: There IS perfection. There IS love. There IS goodness. There IS beauty. There IS life. But our IMPERFECT mind-created identities (egos) are unconscious of those perfect things. So there is perfection but is useless to us if we are NOT THERE. Not BEING THERE is not only imperfect - it is nothing.

  • It is beneficial to accept whatever "is" - to acknowledge without criticism, judgement. Beneficial to not resist what is at any given moment, even if that something is NOT "perfect".

What I am suggesting is that "acceptable" is more accurate a term than "perfect". But then, no words or labels are perfect.

  • my shortcomings I cannot view as being perfect. My imperfections are not perfect. It may be said, however, that an imperfection is perfectly imperfect. Even then maybe an imperfection isn't perfectly imperfect - maybe a thing could fail to be absolutely imperfect. There are things about myself which are not perfect . That which is ideal is perfect. If everything is perfect then nothing needs to be done. I can sit here and pee my pants which would be ok because everything/anything is perfect?

  • .... deep

  • then again, I may be perfectly wrong.

  • Booey, you think too much!

I hope you enjoy the cig, I gave them up

for the last time 6 years ago!

Love smoking! Love drinking! But my love

    as been unrequited! (lol)

Enjoy yourself, perfection is a worthy goal,

but you are here to witness a spectacle,

    enjoy it. And become "aware"

    Good luck!!!!!

  • a definition of perfect: "Lacking nothing essential to the whole; complete of its nature or kind.Being without defect or blemish." At this moment I'm sucking cig smoke into my lungs. Perfect? No need to change that? If i think my house is on fire when it is not, is that a perfect thought? No. Not ALL is perfect. What "is" is, and i agree that what "is" is perfect. But some of my thoughts, perceptions, and behaiors are, IMperfect. That which caused all this "is" "may" perfect. Can I even know?

  • The whole point of the concept...that everything is perfect.... is to recognize the flaw in in rating things relative to other things. There is only what is, comparing what is to what "could be" is an illusion. Things can only be as they are, there is no other possibility. It is a perfect actualization of what it is. "Better" and "worse" are false concepts. They have nothing to do with reality... only with our perceptions.

  • "perfect" - an imperfect term

  • I understand what it means to be one with the universe now. Wow.

  • Beautiful!!!

  • Perfect without the background music that people put on guided meditations, music which are more disturbing than anything else, for me. Thank you:-)

  • in buddhist meditation, they stay on the threshold betweem opposites, because that is god mode

  • Very insightful video, nicely presented- and relaxed me immensely.

Thank you for uploading this, Mr. Kitzmiller.

  • Great video, congratulations, beautiful photos and beautiful places, I know one day, a pity I live so far away I am from Brazil, which by the way did a great video if you want to look at the address that is below,

also see my channel Up More ... /watch?v=42JhgBotuYs

    Thanks

  • This is good and all, but it raises a lot of questions...

    ...is murder perfect?

    ...is stealing perfect?

    ...is raping women perfect?

It's like you're saying to just ignore the "darkside" so to speak.

I understand and believe that deep down all people are good, and that their thoughts lead them astray, but in the grand scheme of things...does perfection really exist?

I'm not trying to preach or come down on anyone...I'm simply human...this curiosity comes with the territory.

  • Excellent question. There's more info at SystemsMystic dot com.

  • @JimKitzmiller Your theories on the economy are incorrect. Put it this way, 13 families, those who own the global banks, global oil companies, multinationals/organizations (including org. like United Nations/Council on Foreign Relations etc etc), the mainstream media, politics, political 'advisers' etc. manipulate and control the world covertly, behind the scenes. These people are crooks, and have been profiting off human suffering for a very long time. (cont.)

  • @jduran9123 You are absolutely correct about the economy.

  • @JimKitzmiller I'll explain to you how and why people and governments are drowning in debt. Keep in mind what debt equals, control.. The banking system is merely a con-trick being played on humanity by the federal reserve. They get you in debt off money that does not, has not, and will never exist. When you take out a loan (say 50,000), all the bank does is type numbers onto a computer screen, but from that moment on not only do you owe 50,000, but you also have to pay interest on that loan.

  • @JimKitzmiller (cont..) There's even rules and laws in most countries which allow banks to shut its doors if too many people want their money out at the same time. They create this money out of thin air. This also means the bankers also control economic booms and busts. An economic busts can only happen when there's not enough money in circulation to pay for goods and services, and who controls the amount of money in circulation? The banks.

  • @JimKitzmiller Now this is the sick trick the banks play on us. First, they condition you through the media to want bigger and nicer things, such as a nicer house and a nicer car and what not. They program the masses to become materially attached. Once this is done, they reel you in by lowering interest rates, making it easy for almost anyone to get 'credit' (non-existent money). This ofcourse, puts lots of 'money' into circulation and increases the ability of business and people to buy things.

  • @JimKitzmiller This obviously causes consumer demand and businesses take out more loans and employs more staff to meet that demand. We now have what they call 'economic prosperity' or a 'boom', although there is always an underclass that never benefits. During such 'boom times', people, like business, feel more confident and vast numbers buy a bigger house, bigger car and have more expensive holidays - paid for invariably by loans or line of credit.

  • @JimKitzmiller In short, during a 'boom' business and people get themselves into more debt and even those who don't secure bank loans bash their credit card to increase their purchasing power in the face of mass advertising (mind control) to buy, buy, buy. When the world is saturated in credit (debt on 'money' that doesn't exist) the banking cartel triggers stage two of what ignorant economists and economic correspondents call the 'economic cycle'. They reel in the line and net their fish - us.

  • @JimKitzmiller They do this by reducing the amount of credit they issue and calling in many loans already on their books. This has the effect of taking 'money' - purchasing power - out of circulation and transforms the manufactured 'boom' into a manufactured 'bust'. This leads to a big increase in unemployment, bankruptcy, people losing their homes because those businesses and people are no longer able to earn the income necessary to service the loans they took out during the 'good times'.

  • @JimKitzmiller But, of course, when they accepted those loans of non-existent 'money' they had to sign over as security their wealth that did exist - their home, car, business or land - and so when they fail to 'repay' their 'loans' of credit the banks seize their wealth that does exist in exchange for not paying back 'money' that has never existed, except in theory. The banking system is no more than legalized fraud, and made possible through the nexus of companies and the puppet CEO's.

  • well..probably murderes and rapists wont be listening to this.

  • I'm listening to this.........

  • lol. thats creepy.

  • are you trying to tell us that you're a murder or a rapist, Zergapollo?.......

  • that is creepy.. and somehow i dont doubt it

  • Lol i did it for the lulz xD

  • sweety, the vid is for meditting and feeling inner peace within ' ourself' if all the bad like your saying had meditated and felt inner peace, perhaps they wouldnt have had such ego troubles and need for control.. everyone should mediate and feel at peace.. and yeah.. your perfect..mistakes and all.. when you take the negative ego away.. all there is oneness.. LOVE. its an amazing feeling when you can feel so much love and peace within yourself

  • Perfect doesn't mean GOOD or beneficial, in the sense he's using it. It simply means that is is how it is and is perfectly the way it is and is not anything else or meant to be. It's tough to grasp, I know. I guess it's something that takes contemplation, but a good question.

  • @UglyScukuggly at least you question things, that's better than most people:)...based on what i've experienced i've found that every soul is on their own journey back to God, and that each takes it's own path...in the end we all get there somehow. therefore, i see all that as perfect because the murderer and murdered are both fulfilling what they wished to fulfill on their back back to God.

it's kind of hard to explain in only 400 characters:)

  • @UglyScukuggly Personally, I believe nothing is perfect, until you're completely satisfied with it. Therefore, it a "perfect self" doesn't mean you have no flaws, instead it means something you find doesn't need to be changed and are overall happy with.

  • @UglyScukuggly I just believe that everything is the way it is supposed to be. If one person kills or rapes another, that was meant to happen, no matter was it a good or a bad action (I'd rather stay on the good side though), but that's just my opinion

  • i like the fact that there is no music- just words......thanks.

  • yah.

  • This video is perfect!

  • i had such a stressfull day today, now i feel much happier and optimistic.

    thank you

  • your voice is relaxing. thanks :)

  • Jim - I just wanted to thank you for your tape. It has really helped me today - my resolution for this year is to accept myself and this is the "perfect" start!!

  • You are most welcome, Andy.

  • this guy has a good relaxing voice, but he talks constantly. it would be a lot more effective if he made use of silence to let his points soak in.

  • There are a lot of videos that are without speaking... I actually like this one a lot because Jim's voice keeps calling me back to attention every time I start to wander. It's a really, really great method for beginners and those of us who tend to wander, I think.

  • A womans voice would have made this video more relaxing.

  • I think Jim has a really nice voice for this.

  • nope, I like his.

  • I enjoyed it, I actually felt how perfect I was. Thank you. For the jokers: Well, I kept thinking what if as I am being so perfect the video would get to the part when the creator announces that I was tricked and disturb my peace. But that thought has gone and that's perfect. Now I am thinking how lame it is to write this but then it is still me being perfect so ...

  • very nice, thank you

  • sounds like poetry in my english class

  • I noticed how many times he said notice and it messed everything up because I noticed i was counting them :(

  • i now cant watch this because i also notice even more the notices that you noticed

    this man notices alot

  • Wow...I uhh went into a deep deep meditation until my computer started making noises with screen saver. lol Wow it's amazing. Thanks!! You're great!

  • I notice myself having a hard time with this one, this time. I notice my imperfection, and notice my imperfection some more. At times I notice the perfection of my imperfections. But now I wonder, is an axe murderer supposed to accept himself. No need to change anything? Is it all perfect the way it is?

  • Life's perfect the way it is...mind comes up and adds trouble to it, interpretations of various kinds which creates the conceptualization...

  • so your saying somebody who goes around killing people, or to a lesser extent goes around beating people up, that its the mind that makes that trouble happen. right?

What about the people who are the victims?

It sounds like what you said is likening human beings to pure animals and that we should not think.

Maybe the word from 'perfect' in this video should be changed to 'good'

  • agree'd

  • How do i know when im in meditation....

  • Very helpful, thankyou!

  • Glad you liked it. Thank you.

  • it seems to me that all these videos are almost the same

  • very nice. thanks.

  • thank you, felt really good, was skeptic at first, but as i started to listen, the doubts left me.

  • thank you you just changed my life seriously

  • Beautiful! Congratulations :-)

  • I find the repetition helps me focus my meditation.

  • Nice work on this. Thanks!

  • thank you so much! i love this meditation!! gracias!

  • A very big THANK YOU for this video... there's much more to this than meets the eye(?). I give it 5-stars!

  • I found by doing this meditation, I am not what I thought I was. If I can be what I found I am. I'll have nothing more to try to prove. Thanks

  • Excellent! This is a great meditation.

  • gracias

  • I'm glad you haven't added background music. It's often distracting.

  • Absolutely.

  • Awesome and beautiful! This meditation would now help me relax a lot more during my stressful days at work.

  • Gracias por postear estas meditaciones, en particular esta me hizo sentir y observar mi vida desde el punto de vista de la perfección. Fue muy emocionante.

  • This meditation brings me to a state of peace thank you

  • We have come to see that it was not our external worlds we needed to change, but our internal worlds.

    B. Daniel

  • i agree with you 101%

  • Excellent meditation. Thank you very much!
