@TheAC29 WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT?!?!??!?!?!??!?? WHY ARENT THEY TRYINBG TO SAVE DISNEY!?!?!??!?!?!
Bring back the magic? Witches, spell casting, mind control and evil witches that use horrifying techniques on nice little girls to steal their lovely paceful countenances?
There you have it, the last official Disney told you how to keep the magic alive. Would you listen to him or would you follow the rest of the business tycoons. RIP Roy, you shall be missed. watch?v=8Wv2jdJGCRU
The sad thing is whenever a company's founder dies and new people start taking it over, it almost always goes against what the founder would have wanted, even if it's just a little bit. Disney isn't the only place where this happens. If you guys haven't already, read the book "Disney War" by James B. Stewart. It's a detailed story about Eisner's tenure as Disney's CEO, and an excellent read.
@GlitchySoftware I've only been looking at things from a distance, but why exactly would you say HSM is crappy? It's been Disney's best selling franchise to date, along with the iconic Hannah Montana. Since Eisner's resignation Disney has moved past the point of releasing direct-to-video animated sequels and on to more original concepts. I would call this a golden era for them, at least compared to it's previous one.
yes, i just hope that the money and new resources they make and find will go towards more traditional, high quality animation, like the princess and the frog.
well, personaly I think that HSM and Hannah Montana aren't bad, but the thing you had with The Little Mermaid and Beauty and the beast, (such things as; true love comes from inside, and, dreams do come true) isn't there. and that is too bad. so. I hope, with the new movie The Princess and the Frog, a new Disney time has come
R.I.P Roy, give Walt, Roy sr. and all the others a hug from us.
i agree, they ruined club penguin and i hear they are about to buy marvel which might become bad. plus hannah montanah stinks, and alot of new shows like retarded phineas and ferb and others. BRING BACK MICKEY MOUSE AND OTHER OLD CARTOONS ONTO DISNEY *SNIFFLE*
@MysticArksRevenge I hate to say this but Bob Iger hasn't done anything to Disney Channel, Anne Sweeney ruined Disney Channel, "she's the President of ABC-Disney Television Group, which makes the programs on Disney Channel geared mainly toward pre-teen girls and teenage girls." I saw this at Wikipedia.
@TheAC29 I am sorry if I assumed about 2 years ago. A year after I have typed that comment, I have learned that Anne Sweeney messed up Disney, so yeah.
Bring back the fucking magic!!! I'm glad Disney is trying to go back to their roots with 2d animation such as the princess and the frog as well as going back to the fairy tale format with Rapunzel.
i dnt mind toy story n a bugs life etc bt i hate the tweenage shows shit.i miss the old animations n the old stories. they just making sequels nw which os stupid...GET BACK TO ORIGINALITY!!!!!!!!!!! please :(
Bob Iger hasn't changed a thing since he took over. Hanna Montana is tasteless and lacks creativity, their live action films leave a lot to be desired with the excaption of a rare few films in recent years, etc. The only reason Hanna Montana is popular is because of marketing schemes. Creativity and good writing has nothing to do with Hanna Montana's success. None of the New Disney "tweenage" shows and films have Class. The Magic is dead. Roy Disney won the battle and lost the war here.
I was looking at a list of notable disney releases and they went from real art, i.e. the classic fairy tales and mickey mouse, to hannah montana and high school musical. It's really sad that its become all about money.
i cant take that pixar 3D crap. ill give a pass on toy story and cars. but bring back that good old fashion animation.with a touch of todays tech.with the magic story line. the classic its what got them this far.
Hello All !, Yes, Michael Eisner has done some good things for Disney, but In the outcome, the results of Some of Michael Eisner`s Actions against The Disney Trditions I knew growing up makes me REALLY FURIOUS !!! Can you imagine The mess that Bob Iger has to clean up?
Hello Juliusaime !, Michael Eisner stepped down as Head of The Walt Disney Company in 2005 During Disneyland`s 50th Anniversary. I am happy that Eisner is no longer controlling Disney anymore either.
lets see... he closed the animation department and fired all of the animators who worked on movies such as aladdin, hercules, beauty and the beast, the little mermaid, etc. He bought pixar and put them to work basically, and he started the stupid tween shows like hanna montanna and zack and cody. Oh and lets not forget high school musical... yeah he basically made disney take a wrong turn on the magic interstate...
Michael Eisner basicly stayed around too long at Disney. Funny, considering it was one of his principles to move people around so they wouldn't get stagnant. Should've left sooner on your own terms, Mikey!
Stupid Eisner>:( And poor Roy Disney had to make the appeal to save the company. Well don't worry Roy i'm behind ya 100% I'll be glad when the direct to video sequels end and we can get back to the true Disney films that Walt would be proud of.
Michael Eisner did STUPID THINGS for the company so I WAS HAPPY THAT HE WAS OUT OF Disney. I hope that Robert Iger reopen the animation studios & also see "Mickey again" in the movies or in ABC beacuase im a huge Mickey Mouse fan and he forget just like old man said evething start with the little mouse.
Micheal Eisner was fired because he closed down Disney's Animation studio in 2003, Caused ABC's ratings to tanked because most shows last for only half a season and keep crapping out lame Direct to video/DVD sequels and he said with Disney's Animation studio closed down he said that all future animated Disney movies is going to be 3D. LAME!
Don't forget about that Pixar break up with Disney in 2004 but later came back together now Disney have brought Pixar so that means that Disney no longer needed that idiot Eisner who crippled the company with flops like Treasure Planet.
I will try to make a LONG STATEMENT as SHORT as I can make it. Michael Eisner basically took The Walt Disney Company after Walt`s Passing and BUILT IT UP for TEN YEARS
Afterwards, Michael Eisner ended up taking A LOT of those Traditions away using A " 65 Episode Rule ". There has been LESS Disney Promoting and Representing DISNEY Lately.
I said this once about something else, and I am gonna say it again, " Blood is thicker than water." Let`s also Pray for Bob Iger that He will be able to at least keep whatever Disney Traditions that are still standing, if he is not able to bring back a few Disney Traditions.
You're Very Welcome. I felt very privilaged to be abe to work on Save Disney. I believe that Roy and his business partner Stan, really made a difference:)

Generally speaking, the Walt Disney Company has been much better since Michael Eisner left.
Regardless of people's feelings of him, Bob Iger seems to have more of a vision and focus.
He bought Pixar, allowing John Lasseter to become the chief creative officer at Disney Animation. (In addition to Pixar Animation)
Since 2007, John Lasseter has been the executive producer of all films from Disney Animation.
John Lasseter believes that quality is the best business plan. :-)
