Yes, deCinque is amazing, but so is Jonny. Both have a huge fan following, and both excel at what they do, regardless of how "true" their talent is. Gracias.

Also: I saw Jonny live five days ago at Warped Tour, and it was the best performance of the entire event, hands down. His voice wasn't raspy at all. The only disappointment was how short the set was.

@BiTTeRHaLo Anyone can write lyrics at Craig's level, but it's not easy to write the way deCinque does. The latter has mastered linguistics and poetry, so if anyone's unable to hold a candle to something, it's Jonny Craig in that respect.

Also, listen to how raspy and throaty Craig's voice is to either of the Closure in Moscow singers. Futhermore, their voices are quite diverse throughout Closure in Moscow's First Temple, whereas Craig sounds the same on almost everything he's recorded.

@Chickenjuggle Sure, people can write on Jonny Craig's level... because most people write about their pasts, personal dilemmas. I mean, that's what music is about. I appreciate "poets" with "meaningful" things to say, but I appreciate things I can connect with on an emotional level more.

At no point does Jonny's voice become monotonous. Sure, he sounds similar, that's why it's his voice. He's created a new style unto himself. I respect the talent, but Jonny's vocal abilities surpass anyone.

@BiTTeRHaLo Furthermore, Craig is the definition of monotony. I loved his performance on Downtown Battle Mountain. I loved the hip-hop/soul vocal style, especially in such a different genre. However, I was sorely disappointed by everything afterward because it all sounded stale and repetitive. What's more is that when performing live, his voice is so raspy and throaty that it's a complete letdown to listen to. You don't hear that from Closure in Moscow because deCinque and Zennelli are better.

@Chickenjuggle I would say Emarosa's "Relativity" was nearly as good as Downtown Battle Mountain. His voice isn't only "raspy" live, it's always been that way, although less noticeable on CD. I will agree that his newest works have been somewhat lacking creativity-wise, but his vocal talent is undeniable. Chris deCinque is a talented singer, but his voice isn't unique. I would compare him to a Craig Owens/Adam Lazzara hybrid. Again, as far as raw ability, and sound- Jonny can't be beaten.

His raspy live performances do not do his recordings justice, which, ultimately, brings him down. Wow, he can do little hip-hop flourishes. So can any good singer. However, many singers, such as deCinque, who are better than Craig can do way more than that.

@Chickenjuggle You are honestly the first person I've ever seen complain about Jonny Craig live. He does his music more than justice while on stage, that I can assure you of. It's not about Jonny's vibrato, it's about the unique sound of his voice, and his range. You can't name one person on this planet that sounds like Jonny, yet I can name a few that sound like Chris. Cover Reber, Adam Lazzar. Don't get me wrong, I loveClosure in Moscow.. VERY talented band. But vocally, Jonny is top notch.

His range is not very big, and he does not have a very strong voice. Watch any live video of his or just go see him live and you'll see what I mean. Yes, he's good, but he's totally overrated in the truest sense of the word.
