  • This film is well and truly brilliant. I heard it was ignored for film awards ?!

    WHAT ?

    :0

Surely there must have been some sort of a mistake ?

  • I'm married with a Vietnamese women, I love her very much, but she doesn't like neither the bock nor the movie "The quite American". Reason is simple: Graham Greene looks too deep in the soul of the people, and nobody likes his mentality presented on a sivver plate. That Graham Green didn't get The Nobel Price is one of the unsolved misteries of Sweden.

  • Sir Michael Caine deserved the Best Actor Oscar for this performance.

  • i adore the book, but this film seems okay.

  • i love this movie... if you one time love this womens you never will miss..

  • It is not pot that they offer. It is opium. Opium dens were all the rage then. Check it out.

    Steven

  • @Estabanwatersaz Yes, historical, it should be opium most probably (instead of marihuana). The taboo around smoking and especially moreover about drugs leads easily to inaccurate information and mixing up names. Thanks for your information Steven.

  • Hehe! Before health freaks began there war against smokers (went that far that the former rector of a Catholic University in our country, proposed to refuse medical treatment to smokers that get cancer!), smoking has been always a social habit, since eternity, in most societies. Begin of the last century, it was a common social habit to smoke marihuana, in the Southeast Asia region. (response to comment)

  • Why'd the vietnamese girl ask Pyle if he wanted to smoke pot?? lol never got that small detail
