omgggg =[ I am going through the exact same thing as you!! i've been on advais, avamys, singulaire. Since I was 18. Im 21 now =[ !!!! just yesterday I found out I had Nasal Polyps from my E.N.T. doctor. I hate this...
I have found that it is catalytic converter smell from exhausts on cars which is to blame for this condition, you can't get away from it because it is in the air you breathe while you are out in your car, have you ever smelt the bad egg smell from the car in front of you or your car or any car when you first got the symptoms? You can't smell it now outside because you no longer have a sense of smell or very little. When cars get rid of these devices that is when us sufferesrs will get better
@naturallymesmooches . I went to USF for clinical studies, they have me using my grossan sinus water pik with a solution of asthma meds. It seems to be working well. I would go on youtube and look up triad asthma. I am being treating by a dr. who trained with the Dr. who does the video. It seems to be working.
@LivinThatHighLife I was scared but you definitely need to go because if you do have them you can get relief from it. Evenutally it could end up in your right also. Go see a doctor and let me know...
I had surgery for the 3rd time, just two weeks ago. I went for a follow up yesterday (two weeks after this 3rd surgery) and the Dr. almost fell over. I am already filled with polyps AGAIN! Good news for ya'll is that he says I am the worst case he has ever seen. He keeps me on a pretty heavy dose of Prednisone. I usually go on a heavy dose for over a 10 day period and then I have relief for about 60-90 days.
@jackstrollo Wow the worst case? Although I can't smell anything I can breathe better and I don't have to use the nose spray often. Third surgery, I can't imagine but good luck and hopefully you won't need another..
Wow, thank you so much for sharing! 13 years was a long time. I'm glad you are finally over it.What is this process "desensitized" I'm not big on taking asprin in fact I haven't taken regular asprin for at least 20 years. I took more Ibuprofen but occassionally. But I do love vegetables so maybe that's how I got them?
If you haven't taken Aspirin for a long time then you have to be careful! Many people don't know they are allergic to it when they have this condition and you could have an anaphylactic shock. . What you are allergic to is (salicylic acid or salyclates) and they cause Asthma and Polyps and things you weren't allergic to before. I'm in the UK and it is not well known here, in the U.S it is more well known, ask your Doctor about being desensitized and if he doesn't know try another.
@naturallymesmooches The protocol is this, they give you tiny amounts of Aspirin every hour or so (30mg) and start to increase the dose once you can tollerate it. It can take up to 4 days to be sucessful and once you are desensitized you have to take a maintenance dose for the rest of your life no less than 300mg a day or you will become sensitive again. Afterwards you will have no more symptoms, you will feel human again.
I do feel for you because i have this condition as well. 13 years is a long time not being able to smell. Salicylic acid is what we are allergic to, it is what is in Aspirin or NSAIDs. It is also in a lot of foods particulary in vegetables. I've had surgery 5 times before I got desensitized to Aspirin and now after two years, I have no nasal polyps, no Asthma and my life feels normal again, however, you have to keep taking Aspirin for the rest of your life to maintain it.
The majority of people who have nasal polyps is because they are allergic to Aspirin!
this is a condition called Samter's Triad. It consists of Asprin allergy, nasal polyps and Asthma, that's the triad. Surgery will clear your nose but they will come as for taking steriod tablets such as prednisone will only give you short term relief. The only way to treat this condition permantly is to treat the allergy! And this is to be desensitized to Aspirin, After suffering for 13 years it worked for me.
@023sergio Oh wow, sorry to hear that I hope you didn't make it worst by poking it. You can definitely get it removed if its that. I know how annoying it can be. I have been using Nasonex and although I still can't smell I definitely can breath better but I'm definitely looking to get them removed cause its annoying not to be able to smell, I've burned a few dinners because of . Good luck! Thanks for sharing and watching
I had s tuffy nose since my Jr. year in high school and i thought i was a cold so i ignored it then my senior year i went to the doctor and i gor a nasal spray but it didnt work. Now i graduated high school and had my right sinus blocked for 2 years now in college it got super worse a few days ago i noticed this thing that was coming out of my right side of my nose so i poked it and it bled. Now im going for a CT scan and hoping i get this polyp out of me!!!!
@ajhbaby I'm sorry to hear that you have it cause they really do suck. I think you should go to your regular doctor and see what he/she says about it. Don't just go by the vids. Maybe because you are so young it will be easier to get rid of them. I'm a little scared about the surgery thing too but its nothing to worry about because its not a life threatening surgery. Don't wait too long to get it checked out. The earlier the better
I'm only 13 and i have a nasal polyp. I've been having a runny nose for about a year now. It sucks. I just watched another video on nasal polyps and they said that when your a kid and have 1 you could get cyctric fibrosis (i think that's what its called!). It makes me very scared about what can happen when i end up getting it checked out again and we make plans for different things like surgery and stuff. :(
you just described exactly what I feel. Someone need to study this deaper and find a cure for stupid polyps. you where word for word the exact symptoms No Smell, Always stuffy like alergies, became asmatic all of a sudden with no history of it at all.
