  • Great tune. I actually prefer the live version they did at Woodstock. It's a bit faster, and has a bit more OOMPH to it.

  • I really can't understand how it's possible to hate such an incredibly epic thing.

  • ninety nine and a half will do ...on a 4 track stereo

  • Ninety Nine and a half may not do but 3:35 did just fine for me

  • Gotta have some CCR in your life!!

  • is there a voice sweeter than john fogerty......i dont think so

  • great song . .

  • best ccr song

  • please share your link to play offsite or Im not sharing or promoting this one :)

  • Why is Don Imus in the picture?

  • I always start laughing when I hear John start singing this song. The first two words xD

  • Such a great band...i wish i can grow some gnarly facial hair like these guys though:/

  • @TheGlenJon Why do you come here hating?

If you don't like them at all, just quietly leave, bro.

    :/

  • @TheGlenJon Learn a little about "swamp rock." It's a rare genre and CCR perfected it.

  • @bwc3821 Check out Tony Joe White for some great Swamp Rock, one killer tune he does is Polk Sald Annie among lots of others

  • @TheGlenJon What an amusing little comment.

  • cool slowman ...no shit? that is awesome...you should get them dudes and write a book or something...man they are..were..and still great!

  • these guys rocked

    no doubt

  • this is my favorite band, and if u havent noticed their song "fortunate son" was in call of duty black ops.

  • this is the best music it actually explains something which is the complete opposite of lady goo goo or what ever it is

  • i gotta buy that woodstock cd collection i had a while back it had creedence rockin on this song about a thousand time better than this version and this version kicks ass so thats sayin somethin

  • Wild Cherry's cover of this song wasn't too bad.

  • I wrote this song.

  • @AgentSmashinglyG ur an idiot, its obvious that what u just said is not true.

  • @bottleface147 lol. just enjoy the humor.

  • @AgentSmashinglyG enjoy the humor...enjoy, the humor

  • Amazing voice!!!! Speechless!

  • How the fuck do you NOT like this song?!

  • 99 and a half just wont do ,just w ont get it

  • 2nd from from the left looks like harrison ford, haha

  • @jgrose9 Looks more like Steve Martin to me!

  • @jgrose9 Haha, Tom Fogerty (left) looks like Trampas (The Virginian)(Doug McClure); and 3rd from left ALWAYS reminded me of Groucho Marx. I had the album Cosmo's Factory from the moment it came out and only discovered he wasn't J.F., today!. And the voice goes with (Groucho's) image!. And I always thought he was Bald. Methinks I was doing too much Thinking. They must have put Soooo much work in, to be such a tight together band, and never made a bad record. Got most Singles, too, in UK.

  • I'm 14 and I'M IN LOVE WITH CCR! <3

  • I grew up with CCR. Today I am 27, I still listen to their music every day, and some days I even dream about it!

Great music lives forever... long live CCR!

We love'em here in South Africa!

  • 99 and a half ways to die, i love CCR as may dad and my grandfather do :3

  • I met Stu Cook when I lived in Berkeley and worked in Emeryville in 1978. TRhe bad feeling were strong and I did'nt get much from him...but the breackup of CCR, and the R&R Hall of Fame fiasco is well documented. Fogerty's recent statements leave little to the imagination when discerning his politics either.

  • I LOVE THIS SONG

  • John Fogerty was the driving force and soul of Credence, thats true, but he was a control freak that drove Tom Fogerty from the band and eventually lead to Stu and Doug to split too. And the shit that came down with John banning the rest of the band from the stage at the Rock Hall of Fame only is explained that he was a screaming Lefty/Lib hater.

    Thanks for the ruined memories!

  • @ahmosis123, everything I have ever heard about John Fogerty was that he was a decent

moderate in politics and very bitter about his dealings with the music industry.

Of course you might be the same way if you got butt fucked out of your publishing rights and had your

ex-boss sue you for the right to make a living .... but then you have met John Fogerty, haven't you??

  • @jkoff76 yes, you are so right

  • I absolutely loved this song. I haven't heard that song in about 42 years. But it was in my head all this time. Thank you for posting this song. They were a great band. Will be forever missed.

  • AWESOME BAND!!! ...brings back great memories of the 60's and 70's....I never get tired of listening to CCR

  • not gonna say creedence did it better but actually i am going to say that creedence did it better i love motown but these are facts people

  • i wish i was old...

  • These white boys have Soul. They would have fit in at Motown. Hell half the songs they did were motown or blues anyway.

  • fuck yea man nuggets and creedance for the rest of my fucking life!

  • the only american band next to grand funk who could get nastya nd still be badass!! not too many bands can pull that off! only in america!!!

  • i love all ccrs songs they were a great group i wish there were more bands out there like them the world would be a better place.

  • lookit that, two dislikes. That's a 64/1 ratio of appreciation. Match that...rapperpeople...

  • @CommodoreFluffy if only it was a 99 and a half /1 ratio.

  • lookit that, two dislikes.

  • for all the vets that went to vietnam, i love you guys where ever you go.... PEACE AND LOVE. and thanks for posting to the man out there thanks.

  • Check out Tommy Castro Band's rendition of 99 ...awesome stuff.

  • Bad Ass Cover of A Bad Ass Song By Bad Ass Wilson Pickett. GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!

  • @jimmybrown11111 couldnt have put it better myself!!

  • see my bass cover of this song in my channel

  • Didn't Steve Cropper write this for Wilson?

  • @vinegaroon1 Yep, Cropper wrote it with Wilson and Eddie Floyd (who had a hit with "Knock On Wood" in 1966).

  • Does anyone else think that John Fogerty looked like a young Steve Martin in that picture? ("Well excuuuuuse meeee") haha

  • @Billinois78 I always thought he looked like Han Solo!

  • @speelyei CCR could take you from Lodi to Green River in less than twelve parsecs. ;)

  • Huh ... we didn't get ninety-nine and a half dislikes xD

  • this is such a great song, and johns voice is so awsome

  • 0:12-1:50 are you fucking kidding me?? dude... what a VOICE!! one of the strongest vocal performances without a doubt probably... without a seconds thought I would destroy every song made from 1990-2010 If they made me choose between this song existing or that!

  • @TheHippieDude i wouldnt say every song but the music thats been coming out lately is crap. we need more heartfelt music. not the structured garbage thats been coming out lately

  • I thought Wilson Pickett's original was a pinnacle of how good Soul music could be. Wonder if he heard CCR's cover and if he did what he thought of it. I think they took it into a whole other dimension, and it's on the same plateau as Wilson's,,,why compare two forms of greatness when they're on equal footing?

  • Great cover of the Wilson Pickett hit.

  • Oh my GOD CCR is my favorite band , when i feel blue i hear CCR and make me smile ,CCR changes my life Thank you John , Tom(RIP), Stu and Cosmo

  • My sister loves CCR and I am beginning to love them, too!

  • Exploring a music which was made when my father was in my grandpa's balls. Gotta get these tracks on my mp4 to kill my boredom from home to school.

  • well im going to burn it , thank u

  • Very good song , see my bass cover of this song in my profile

  • The 1st Creedence Album....still my fave!

  • John Fogerty = amazing guitarist, singer, harmonica player. <3

  • am i the only one who thinks this sounds like I put a spell on you?

  • just found this track,,,what a FUCKING band,,,IMMENSE!!!

  • John is a supreme belter and I'm astonished he's never identified as a blue-eyed soul singer, which he surely is.

  • You can't find better band than CCR...Long live Creedence..and this song is another masterpiece!!

  • @jokerit911 Yes one of the best song's ever .....

  • Great music from CCR! My Brother's Favorite band!

  • Great CCR thanks for your music

  • first CCR album side two number one.

  • CCR had a tendency to play blues, Rock, soul and that special thing they threw in of their own. Dear God, I miss them! They were a class of their own! They have no song, i didn't appreciate. You should check out Tombstone Shadow, if you haven't. There were no remarks, and I'm surprised, because it's awesome. I remembered the name but not the tune. Damn! Go hear it!

  • Seen a lot of good CCR here, but haven't seen Porterville. think it's the only one i've missed, Aside from John's Blue Ridge Ranger's and some of his solo stuff, like off his album "The Wall".

  • JOHN FOGERTY AND CREEDENCE IN MY heart SInCE I WAS 13 YEARS OLD and it will be with me forever

  • @yaguapora Ditto!! Growing up in the 60's/70's, they are now part of the soundtrack of my life forever!

  • This is a very rare song indeed. I hear a lot of the blues in this one. What a great tune.

  • i knew the original's version by Wilson Pickett, but frankly the Creedence 's version is the best version .

  • nope. wilson's is the best. each has its own, but wilson pickett's has more soul. depending on my mood - i choose the version accordingly. this version rocks.

  • Bought the album long time ago ( 1969) and it keeps coming back on my record player , side two nr 1.

  • la cancion es buenisima como todo lo de la creedence, y por supuesto el magnifico john fogerty

  • this song reminds me of my younger years, especially going hunting and camping with my brothers

  • Yeah, Great version of this song by CCR!! - Awesome sound, John's amazing voice, and guitar!!- check out Wilson Pickett's vrsn. of this song - really cool too!

  • the Woodstock performance of this is phenomenal

  • I must agree =)

Found it on the web and just can't stop listening!

  • where did you find it? ive been looking but cant find it

  • I don't really know. I just had luck ;>

  • I got mine __legally years ago on Kazaa

  • yeah, can you believe that John didnt think it was good enough, and he wanted their performance not to be shown

  • yeah really a pity, it's so rare for them to sing songs like Ninety-Nine and a Half , I Put a Spell on you, etc. live

  • I love this song which takes me to strange musical heights, hearing the `rock hard' pronounciation, a CCR unique singing style...!!Thanks for uploading the same...

  • My new favourite!

  • i dont know if uve ever heard the version of this song by the redskins, but i think this version is much better......john fogherty has one of the most awesome unique voices

  • IMPRESIONANTE!!!!!!!! Genios!!!!!

  • These 4 guys are just legendary!!! They´re one of my all time favorite bands!!!

  • one of the best rock bands in history- and this song is way,way underrated. John and the boys used to practice down the street from us in North Berkeley, 1967, when they were the Golliwogs. Then, Susie Q, and the rest is history. Amazing.

  • @slownoman Those were the days weren't they.

Sounds to me like he gets his dialect from North Richmond though ;-)

    Remember Provo Park Sundays?

    Aloha from Hawaii,

    Thomas

  • @slownoman

I totally agree with you, but it is a pity the way they ended.

  • @slownoman

I totally agree with you, but it is a pity the way they ended among them

  • Totally unique sound.You cant mistake Creedence!Awesome

  • WAT A SOUND!!!!!!

  • stu is my bass hero!!!!!!!

  • i agree with all of you guys !

  • totaly awesome!!

  • F'ckin' funky drumming on this number. NOBODY can play like that today!

  • I'm surprised that one of these rap guys hasn't used that drum break in the middle.

  • Classic CCR. Simple. Passionate. Bluesy. Love it.

  • If I were a relief pitch in major league baseball and I could throw 100 mph, like a few of them can, this would be my entrance music. Terrific song.

  • awesome!!
