  • that blue diesel whats the models name cos i want 1 :D

  • The Caledonian Railway used both Prussian and Sky Blue as Liveries

  • i see leokimvideos was here at 5:59 xD

  • this is creepy but good

  • Whoa... Deltic sure looks scarier than when I read in your blog.

  • why does this look like a "knock-off" of "Thomas the Tank Engine" ?

  • @H3DHUNT3R192561 - because you haven't read the development behind it?

Quite a few people say that simply on the basis of the faces. Thomas & Friends do not hold a patent for engines with faces, they have been used in British Satire since 1829, and there were a great many stories including Sammy the Shunter, which appeared some years before Thomas was even thought of. My motivation for making this was being fed up with the poor stories, without history being produced...

  • @H3DHUNT3R192561 - consequently I went away and researched my own stories, with characters who are real - real locomotives which did exist, and worked on British Railways. I have been extremely careful with my stories, the characters' looks, and their set, which are all worked from photographs and historical research.

  • @simierski i see that, this was the first vid i watched and i appologise for that acusation, ive watched more videos in the series and i absolutely love it, the history and stuff behind it. you have done outstanding work my friend

  • @H3DHUNT3R192561 - you're very kind. There's more to come from the series, just need to keep plugging away behind the scenes developing it!

  • lol day of the deisels and day of the deltic

  • @SuperMarioNJ - note which came first, mind. By about two years, in fact.

  • lol, "leokimvideo wuz here" genius

  • weird I took a screen shot and sent it to you I see this all squashed up

anyone else see this,I am sure it was fine before

  • i think this needs the tag adjustment to bring it to widescreen, funny I never noticed it was squashed up before

what the heck I see a ad for a dating service...hoot hoot

  • @leokimvideo - still not squashed here. I've tried replicating that you got chap through a proxy server, but nothing seems to work :S

Is it still happening your end?

  • you should make a series from those on DVD and sell them i would love to buy them and wath them in my living room this is a great show well done REPLY

  • @MultiLusitania - you never know - watch this space!

  • " Do You Think The Spare Cab's For The Fireman?"

    Silly Herbert...

  • Youre facts are precise and to the point.

    excellent!

  • 1:05 LEOKIMVIDEO WUZ 'ERE! XD

  • It was like a train soap opera!!!!!

  • "and he studied the nameplate carefully"

    "Detlik?"

    "Deltic!"

    classic lines XD

  • How long did the blue deltics panit last

  • Man, deltic has a creepy theme. =o

Out of all the characters in the series so far, one of my favorites has to be Allen. Can't wait for the next episode!

  • 5:16

    sir ralph sounds russian

  • What's the song at 2:58

  • quality mate, im 23 years old and even i enjoyed this hahahaha

  • mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • ... I like the cream buns ...

  • 1:50 - who was the engine behing Gronk?

  • i like the grafiti on the warehouses

  • deltic is a very shady charter

  • 5:35 is that stephen far right on the loop line?

  • Awesmoe shot at 6:03!

  • did you say deltic was french blue? i thought deltics colour was "english electric powder blue" ?

  • You are correct, but the term "french blue" is an accepted term for the colour, if not the well known term. Plus, I tried saying "english electric powder blue" for the narration but it just sounded long winded!

  • can i just ask

how did u create the smoke effects

is it a smoke generator or summit

  • Ooooh that took a very sinister turn towards the end...feeling al shivery now!

  • Fantastic work!

  • yeh how do you do the smoke

  • what was the song at 4:50

  • Hmmm interesting vid, I've had an idea for some time of doing a Rev W Awdrey Railway series style story with Deltic as the main character going to the island of Sodor....

  • Highly_amusing,_brilliant_cliffhanger!

  • You did it again simierski! Wonderful! I almost cried!

  • Who was that black tank engine beside Sir Ralph at 5:36?

  • Okay, just so that we're clear:

There are THREE tank engines. A J72 - his name is Pilot. A J52 - his name is Digby. And a J50 - his name is Geoffrey.

I'm not sure which one is sitting next to Sir Ralph at that point, but it will be one of those three.

  • It was the J72 Pilot.

  • i think its Pilot

  • I like the Deltic model. Where did you get it from?

  • Did you use a new camera for this episode?

  • Sort of - its still my old casio, however it has been shot in 16:9 as opposed to the normal setting - this has meant lengthening the set so as to make sure it all looks real enough in shot...! That caught me out a few times, I can tell you!

  • Hooray! First ep I've seen for ages! Love the new coaches!

  • ooooh dear!! really looking forward to part 2!

  • at what time today are you going to upload part 2.

  • It may or may not appear dependent entirely upon time constraints of my degree.

  • well whenever its uploaded,be it later on today or whatever,we're all looking forward to it.

  • Thank you very much - I hope it meets expectations - this episode will actually be a little over 27mins long when finally uploaded, part by part!

  • at 5:33 was that a Jinty beside Sir Ralph?

  • We don't have a Jinty, so no. I have already said that the engine is a J72 tank engine.

  • Sorry For the confusion.

  • Thats okay.

  • fabulous work on this one! I'll definitely be viewing the next parts of this ep! Loving the creepiness of Deltic.

  • This episode is really taking off...the might and grace of a mysterious Deltic.

  • at 1:45 was that a Jinty behind Gronk?

  • That was I think the J72 tank engine, which does bear a passing resemblance to a Jinty.

  • When are you going to update your British Railway Series Website?

  • When I get a minute from university work and the editing of the next part of the episode, I'll update the website.

  • i like the Lemokimvideo waz here that is cool

    and this one is amazing

i am a big fan of your videos

    want to become friends

  • Nice creative touch not to add a face to DELTIC's model.

I remember you saying a while back that you would forgo the typical Awdryesque "evil diesel" villains, and the more subtle conflict and tension between the steam and diesel characters really shows and sets a dark, realistic tone for these most recent episodes unique among projects of this type.

The lighting and cinematography are also extraordinary and have improved greatly since the beginning.

Can't wait for the next installment.

  • Thank you for your critique, it is much appreciated - I'm not a fan of one dimensional villains, much better to have characters with real reasons behind their actions, makes for greater tension.

  • Some smaller American diesels found use in private companies in the UK, although this was very rare, as in the UK, people were very proud to "buy British". Keep up the good work. I have been eagerly awaiting this new episode and I'm glad to see that you are maintaining a consistent story line. You have much to be proud of.

  • You are very kind, and I shall look into American Industrial diesels as a matter of interest.

  • still steaming on...nice to see.

  • Nice new intro! I like the steam effects. What's making Stephen's steam? Smoke oil and a hot metallic rod in the funnel, or something else?

  • A "seuthe" smoke generator no.21

  • isnt part 2 coming out today?

  • If not tomorrow, then probably be released friday.

  • Nice job Simierski.

Pointing out something look @ 1:47

  • Yes...?

At 1.47 Gronk is standing next to a sign which states "Leokimvideo was here". This is a nod to the delightful youtuber Leokimvideo who has been a very good friend and excellent advisor in the making of the series.

  • Now, I like Deltics, but if something's gonna happen to the Copely Hill Crew, I might just change my mind

  • This looks like being one of your best performing videos so far, that Deltic has everyone in a spin.

  • I must admit, having a villainous character in the series has really upped the ante for the series - its the best performing episode at this stage of the production. Not even episode 10 has had the response this episode has had. I'm convinced that its down to the sheer striking look of the deltic, with the blue and cream stripes, that has had the biggest effect on its performance.

  • I believe there is some active networking going on..I know this for a fact.

another tip is to video response your videos together, it's simple to do and effective.

A diesel alone can't build a youtube channel..!

  • I think you're right - given its hosted on your site as a favourite, its exposure is perfect - and its breaking records for the series.

I shall go and link them all together now! :)

    Thanks Leo!

  • question, is it possible that an american style loccomotive might appear in the future, or is that a completly un-realted subject matter? if it is, i hope i didn't offend you.

  • I don't think he'd be offended but I reckon he'll only be using Locomotives that have actually served in the U.K. The only locomotive I can think of that originated from America and later got painted in BR livery is some of the USA class 0-6-0 "Dock Tank" engines. In Britain they were used for Industrial use and were seen working at the Docks.

  • It should be noted the U.K versions were modified to include British-style regulators, three rectangular cab-front lookout windows, extended coal bunkers, separate steam and vacuum brake controls and wooden tip-up seats.

  • Damocles has pretty much summed it up here. I would indeed use a "dock tank" or even an S160 if I intended to have an American engine in the series. Only one of those is readily available as a kit (the dock tank) and is out of region for this current series. That is not to say it won't appear in a future series...

And I am not offended at all, that is what questions are for. :)

  • lov the new episode cant wait for the other parts becuase this episode is shifty as hell but y didnt deltic get a face

  • i love the way deltic is a shifty character, it gives the story a bit of a backbone

  • do u have a web site for this if not go on to freewebs and make one for free it would be brilliant

  • If you check the channel page, you'll find that there is a blog AND a website dedicated to the series :)

  • oh sorry

also i asked u how u did the bomb scene but u never replyed

  • Hi,

I didn't realise you had - was that on episode 10? I can't respond in full on YT, if you look on our website, you'll find the writeup for episode 10 and how it was made.

  • How did you do that smoke..??

Looks like dry ice, it has me curious.

  • Which smoke Leo? The smoke in the shed? If so thats a seuthe generator I set up inside the shed, behind Sir Ralph - gentle blowing from behind gives the desired gentle smoke effect.

  • ware part 2

  • released this Friday! :-) Can't wait!

  • amazing job simierski

  • PLEEZ! DO NOT END THE SERIES!

  • We're still quite a few stories away from the end, rest assured...

  • Hooray! They still have a chance! Or do they? *Dr. Evil closeup theme*

  • the end is niegh for the steam engines of copley hill...

  • You are a flipping god given genius. I want your brain so I can write and direct as good as you do! I love the subtitle tribute to Leokim in the background. Keep it up

  • So do I..

Just to let people understand our relationship simerski asked me to go through his whole series some months ago and give a honest opinion on it as a whole.

Until you watch all the episodes you realize this is a very special effort with a deep rooted story based on good railway facts.

It was quite a epic amount of video screenplay to digest, something I think many more train loving tubers should experience.

  • ARGH!!!!!!!!!!! I'm scared. I donbt like Deltic's anymore. good job simmerski.

  • Leokim video wuz there? lol, nice.

This Deltic character seems VERY spooky. Fantastic work again simerski.

  • this is one of your best, with very proffesional shots

  • Ooh, you like to keep us in suspense!

  • Yep! :)

  • yay finally

  • great video m8 like the deltic

  • Thank you very much :)

  • Adding to the favorite pile, getting added to channel favorites is a key factor to the spread of a video.

  • its like doctor who

  • so many series have come back this week yay uk

  • THAT is brilliant! Creepy too...

Excellent work Simon :) Really loved that!

I'm looking forward to the next part of this epic episode

  • how can deltic talk with no face?

  • Look very carefully at the model - contrary to popular opinion, I did modify the bachmann deltic slightly for this episode...

  • AMAZING WORK,Good Luck on the Rest of the Episode :D

  • I can tell that Deltic must be a bully.

  • A fine piece of work. Proper Job

  • WOH CREEPY But AWSOME. =)

  • yay! EPisode 15! Definatly 5/5!!!!

  • Ya know, I don't like his face too much. Doesn't fit the BRWS style to me, other than that, I love this!

  • I like it, its spooky, but i like it, great vid

  • The writing on the wall often leads you to the mad bomber.

A fantastic episode, that Deltic has really changed the mood of the series.

  • I still don't see it?

  • that wascreepy but how do you make the smoke for the steem trains i want to do it with my trains

  • lol leokimvideo wuz 'ere. That's funny, and OMG, that's one of the freakiest plots I've ever had the pleasure of seeing.

  • Wait until you see part two...!

  • What's going on & where's his face!?

  • Look a little closer... ;)

  • Oh yeah the red part of the bufferbeam is Deltic's mouth, very clever : )

  • if the red part of the bufferbeam is Deltic's mouth, and the head lights are his eyes, then that is one creepy face!

  • I thought that black spot on his nose was a loudspeaker.

  • Wow, that was a fantastic beginning. You did awesome. Deltic seems very distinctive. Can't wait for part 2

  • Thanks muchly :)

  • Thats a creepy deltic, but he's a smart one.

  • Smart yes, creepy yes...but he's hiding something too.

  • Whoa, Deltic makes the season 2 persona of Diesel seem like General Grievous, and that says a lot. "Your hiding something" that gave me the creeps

  • Gives me the creeps too...and I had to edit it!

  • That Deltic is a really impressive character. I didn't think he was going to speak at all, I initially considered him to be a totally silent character then suddenly he begins his speech..... the lights really add to it as well. The second they flicked on I was like "OMG he's awake" A true masterpiece, I can't wait for more :)

  • At this point it's hard to tell if the Deltic's evil or trying to solve something..... Who knows what he'll be like by the end of the episode? We will only know his true nature by the end.

  • Absolutely spot on. We'll only know by the end...

  • cant wait for the next 2 parts

  • Neither can I...

  • Fantastic Si!

  • Cheers asa! :)

  • DELTIC KNOWS!!!!

  • He does indeed! :)

  • brilliant work as usual!

  • Cheers :)

  • you're welcome! brilliant idea for a storyline. just like all your previous episodes, i have to rate this as 5/5. anything less would be an insult.

  • i meant other people's ratings of course. i hope i didn't offend you =(

  • Stunning Si,

wont go into details, as you will find i have written plenty on PW.

    Roll on 1st May!

  • Thanks Tom :)

  • I couldn't help but grin from ear to ear when I heard the opening theme once again. :)

Wow... I actually shivered at the end... Interesting...

Also, I loved the little nod to "leokimvideo" on the sheds. :)

  • You know, I was going to drop the theme tune for just this episode - but it does the same thing to me. I get a little tingle when I hear it, the series is in the blood now!

  • deltic scares me!!!

  • Scares me too...wait until part 2!

  • Cool episode!I can see on 5:59 that the wall said "leokimvideo wuz 'ere!"

  • A little thank you in the form of some advertising to a good friend and fellow youtuber.

  • Ha I guess this means I'll have to watch this part again when the other parts come out. Looking good so far :) BTW everyone don't ask pointless questions like where's part 2 in other wards read the description.

  • Comment removed

  • i liked the deltics overall character, this episode is great.
