  • Nice Armonic in minut 0:21 (Y) I love it pls chek my channel

  • you made that solo your bitch

  • Great cover! Absolutely amazing. :)

  • i think is not the way petrucci play it, im not sure

but im sure you play it AWESOME, that guitar kick ass

you've got a lot of skill men, keep working on it

  • @SebaChannel Not a single human can play the way petrucci plays anything :)

  • I envy you. You have the amp of my dreams and the guitar of one of me dreams(lol) only in my dream its a roasted neck and I play awesome like you D;

  • Awesome!!

  • Perfect!

  • VERY GOOD

  • Killer tone and playing.

  • Hey!! Great playing... My friend just bought a used Mark IV. Can you send me the settings you use for this solo so I can recommend to him??

    Thanks!!

  • @squirttilithurts

nevermind.. I just saw in your description...

  • Nice playing and great technique but i'm not a JP fan. I find his solo's boring and predictable, it sounds like an opening theme from a cheezey 80's tv show

  • play with the neck pickups, and switch to the bridge only when you play the longests notes, to give you the resonance.

    Nice cover ;)

  • amazing!!! 5 stars!! ...hi...emmm do you use any pedal booster for this solo sound or it's only amp?

  • Thank you! Just guitar straight to amp and cabinet. No pedals/effects/etc. Delay was added in Cool Edit.

  • Nice bends dude! Thats the biggest problem I usually see with people covering this solo.

  • Thanks, I appreciate that! Getting all the bends is definitely the challenge for this one, I worked really hard to get them all right.

  • @glassprison1974 not a problem if you have... PERFECT PITCH!! but I'm assuming you don't...

  • @PreyingMantisMan

    I dont play guitar.

I do have perfect pitch. I threw a no hitter in high school.

  • @glassprison1974 well, that's cool, you're one in a million. Not sure weather to be jealous of that or feel sorry that everything sounds out of tune to you unless it's pure temperment... ;)

  • @PreyingMantisMan

I am unsure why you are all over me. I COMPLIMENTED his solo. I said NOTHING bad about it. What gives?

  • @glassprison1974 now wait a minute, I never once said anything like that, I think you must be confused... I wasn't attacking you or anything at all like that, all I said was that the bends weren't a problem if you had perfect pitch... because you could hear when you're in tune! I definitely wasn't disagreeing with you... and I was commenting that I would either love to or hate to have perfect pitch, because I know it's a blessing and a curse... this is why communication over the internet sucks

  • @glassprison1974 But anyways, sorry for the confusion... I totally agree with you, he DID play it well... and next time before you let something someone wrote to you over the internet rile you up, just know that communication via text is the most commonly misinterpreted form of communication there is, so what they're trying to say may be completely different from what you THINK their trying to say, such as in this case...

  • great job man.

  • nobody can play it perfect and i think this is pretty damn close. very well done.

question: on the 24th C, how come you strummed it multiple times?

  • Thank you very much for your comment I really appreciate it.

Since I recorded this at a lower volume I wasn't getting very much sustain so to keep the note from ringing out I had to keep strumming it.

  • now see, that's understandable.

thanks for the feedback. keep shredding!!!

  • John Petrucci does that live too

  • Because that's what Petrucci does live. There's some absurd amount of sustain in the studio version that's almost impossible to attain logically on such a high fret without the overuse of a tremolo.

  • i think i recall seeing him do a few extra strums on Score. but that was because he had the Orchestra as loud as fuck and the drums to beat in volume. don't get wrong: the Octavarium Orchestra is like the best orchestra i've ever heard as far as creativity and Portnoy is the greatest drummer who ever lived in my opinion, but Petrucci does have to do a few extra strums because its such a high note and its naturally a faint sound. and at times, Myung disappears completely (sad but true.....)

  • @jmiester25 Petrucci does this too live although at full boost I'm sure he can sustain that note too just as kbourque would too at higher gain with that great Mk IV

  • Pretty damn good, I also noticed it's a Petrucci Music Man

I want the Petrucci 7-string, and Mk. IV so badly.

Also, this is my favorite segment from the song musically. Just sounds so damn cool!

  • this is my favorite segment in music history

  • Remaining to raffinate...

  • Opinions are like assholes everybody has one, don't listen to all the negative comments that was awsome every body else is jelous or has a small mind or dick or something....

  • Nice job man. Some parts would have been better with the neck pick-up though.

  • simply awesome!

are you using any external reverb/delay. as far as i know the mark series have no reverb.

congrats on your playing and tone =)

  • Very nice man. Well played, great tone, great guitar, great amp :P 5 stars.

  • some sloppy parts, but very nice at all

  • I'm sorry but your own version is the sloppy one.

  • the playing is awesome and the tone is pretty nice but a little lacking, im certain that its youtubes fault though. probably sounds a million times better in person.

  • Yeah for sure, it always sounds a lot better in person.

    Thanks for the comment!

  • Good playing, but you shake yourself too much.

Almost like having an epileptic attack.

    And the tone is amazing,.

    I want a Mark IV :(

  • Thanks a lot for the comments guys. I've posted my settings in the Info section.

  • Great tone! Check out my song. I used my Dual Rec, with my custom strat.

  • Nice tone! I'm also wondering how this was recorded. Direct in? Mic'ed? Settings would be nice too.

  • That's awesome! How did you record?

  • Wow you're in tonal heaven there. Do you mind sharing your IV's settings please?
