It has been some time since I listened to this song. I sent an email to my Mother and my Aunt, used to be my best friends, I don't understand, I need them! He is dying and I don't know how to deal with it! This song is all I have......so I feel
My Father has been told he has 3 kinds of cancer. He is in stage 4. I have never had a relationship with him. He abandon me and my Mother when I was 13. This song hit home HARD! I still hold so much against him, I know I need to let it go.....It is soo hard! This song is AMAZING! I HAVE to let it all go...but....you know....It is hard!
I hope you find/found the strength to "let it go". Life is so sort. Although he will undoubtededly lose his battle, you will carry on. Don't carry on with the weight of knowing you didn't....hold onto "things that matter" and toss "things that don't". I wish you all the best! There ARE reasons why people do what they do. @felnfrgyer Try to just enjoy what time you have left.. no one is perfect and he really needs you now and you really need him right now.. you wont get this time back, remember you don't want to hold any regret about your actions during this important time. I hope you find peace.
My dad left when I was 3... He came back into my life when I turned 30 he had a brain tumor and I took care of him (with help from assisted living and nursing homes) I got to spend4yr with him before he passed away... This song says it ALL he missed Every event in my life, but after hearing him say Im sorry,THE PAST WAS GONE..... I was so blessed to get to know him... My entire FAMILY CRIED WHEN WE HEARD THIS... IT WAS LIKE IT WAS WROTE FOR US..... I WISH HE COULD'VE HEARD IT :)
