Personally, I believe that we aren't the only "intelligent" life in our galaxy, let alone the universe. The probability of us being the only ones in the universe, taking into the matter of its extremely large size, is itself very very slim. At the same time though, I also believe that intelligent life not of our planet has yet to, or ever will, come in contact with us. The technology to create a vehicle to travel such distances is highly improbable. There's also the question of, "Why visit us?".

What is meant by the statement in the video is that it's incredible that we're the only known sentient beings within the range of our technology's sensors and telescopes.
