I absolutely LOVE dark anime, it's my favorite type of anime.
No, this anime is just.. horrible. There's useless ecchi in it, the plot line is loose, the characters remain underdeveloped (Yuka turning into a physco and that one redhead falling for Kakaru or whatever, as expected, doesn't count imo.) I don't see anything unique about this anime, or anything that makes it "dark." This anime, for me, was just a waste of my time.
@QuiietLikeSnow The characters are ABSOLUTELY developed. Look at Misuzu at the beginning and end of the anime. Yukiko and Takahisa grow to love each other in a dangerous situation like real people. Yuka's psychosis was a result of seeing Misuzu and Kakeru grow to care for each other (she was pretty much a time bomb from the beginning, always clinging to Kakeru like a fly on syrup). The ecchi, while unnecessary, is absolutely tolerable when compared to something like Sekirei. What's the problem?

He could only think about how he betrayed Yuka, his childhood friend, helping to signify that he still has an emotional attachment to her after all she's done. The idea of the Red Night is hardly cliche. Yes, it's another world, but how many other anime have the other world be a twisted duplication of our world? The plot is about people trying to survive through turmoil. Make sense?
And that's ALL he ever whines about. "Where's Yuka. Need to protect Yuka. Yuka. Yuka. YUKA." That alone totally ruined the anime, and didn't serve as "loyal" or "love" in any way. Almost every shounen anime has this whole "other world" concept. The red night is simply the real world with a red tint in it and these black knight characters that we hardly learn about. The plot, is still, very loose and unexciting. This whole anime was a predictable mess.
@QuiietLikeSnow Predictable? Hardly. If you could honestly predict Kakeru's eye being able to see into the future or Lisette's true identity, then I think you might be able to tell the future. The plot is deliberately crafted so that every episode follows into the next and converges at the end of the show, as opposed to ending subplots by going into a shitty filler episode. The whole point of the black knights was to not know about them to keep the mystery going. At least acknowledge this.
Of course those things aren't predictable, I meant how everything would turn out. lol if only the anime was put together properly to follow the visual novels this series could of been another Fate..with multiple OVAs coming out to show the different universes and endings. From what I understand, School Days' ending was a big "fuck you" to the audience who was expecting it to be romantic and pretty like the rest of the show. 11Eyes, however, was dark and dramatic from the beginning. Also, 11Eyes' ending is not depressing. I'm really tired of people saying that this anime's ending sucks because they expected it to be a Disney-style princess ending. Given what this show's about, that would have been worse.
The last 2 episodes confused me so much, but I won't discuss in detail so i don't ruin it for others who haven't got to see the endings yet. All i can say is a lil confusing towards the end.

I think that animes made from eroge games are most of the time let downs because the animes don't have enough episode numbers to cover all the things in the eroge

@mrshadow0121 Alright first, the reason why Yuka becomes like that is really kind of obvious actually. She is madly in love with Takeru, even obsessively, so when she sees Takeru and the red haired chick Misuzu "together naked" Yuka immediately misunderstands and thinks they "did it". Which then causes Yuka to hate Misuzu and to develop her "psychotic side" because she is afraid of having Takeru taken away from her, so she does everything to try and get him all to herself.
@mrshadow0121 Now in response to your second question. Really the best way to find out more about this is to actually play the game. It is hard to explain so I will try. First, everyone there was in their own dimension or world because their crystals that they had needed to be separated to be protected better, but through Yuka's influence or power i guess, she basically dragged Takeru and eventually everyone else into her "world". Which is then why the crystals could all be gathered up.
@mrshadow0121 The world thing, each person, like the "pieces" were put into different worlds when they were split up. Kinda like, they're on Earth (Well their version) but each one in a different dimension. So Yuka's power caused them to gather in one dimension, which was the one she's in. So, they all think they've been there the whole time.

In this game there are multiple endings, like good and bad endings depending on how you play the game. The 11th episode where he dies would be a bad ending. The 12th episode then is a good ending and is basically completely unrelated from the previous episode. In other words its like the 11th episode never happened, nothing that happened during it and that he is still alive. pm me if need more info

whenever you like it, yuka should be alive. that's what's harem all about...to guys for exact. but if you're a girl, you couldn't easily understand what's it about.
Whenever I watch this i keep thinking of Persona 3, maybe just becasue Kakeru looks kinda like the main guy in Persona 3 and that they transition into a place that looks sorta the dark hour, and that their powers sotra remind me of the persona powers.....guess theirs not that much resemblence at all XP

@Caxixi3322 That's because it is based off a game. The game is a visual novel where you make your own choices. I never played the game, but I know that you can choose any girl you want to be with and depending on the choices you make there can be a bad ending or a good ending. There are a couple of animes that are made from games like that such as Togai no inu, Angel's feather (Though that is also a role playing game), and I think Tears to Tiara is similar. I know it was a game turned anime.
Plan to watch this sometime, the op inspired me to watch it. Got here from the Higurashi op. Higurashi was my first anime, and it's my current second favorite. I found my fourth favorite (Shakugan no Shana) stumbling around on Youtube. Coincidence? I think not.
yukiko was my favourite, and she was soo cute with takahisa.
kakeru and misuzu were also cute together, its sad that he stayed with yuka in the end even though she was crazy - putting the razor in the tea cup, not caring about the people dieing and he even saw in one of his visions that she does something really bad (wont say what, in case someone reads this who hasnt watched it yet). yuka was my least favourite.

@cooljussel No. 11Eyes was amazing. From what I understand, School Days' ending was a big "fuck you" to the audience who was expecting it to be romantic and pretty like the rest of the show. 11Eyes, however, was dark and dramatic from the beginning. Also, 11Eyes' ending is not depressing. I'm really tired of people saying that this anime's ending sucks because they expected it to be a Disney-style princess ending. Given what this show's about, that would have been worse.

The last 2 episodes confused me so much, but I won't discuss in detail so i don't ruin it for others who haven't got to see the endings yet. All i can say is a lil confusing towards the end.

You can see this in alot of anime like this one. the childhood friend is jelous when a new girl join the friend group and childhood friend goes insane watch Shuffle that anime captures that well too

Although, (SPOILER) if you noticed, Yuka's true madness started to awaken immediately after her power awoke within her. Just something I noticed that I find a bit too much to be coincidental.

@ShadowACS yep i agree but Yuka stayed true to Kagaru till the end and Kagaru was the same until that eye of Aeon vision but I would do the same thing if I was Kagaru (for different reasons than just she let me do it with her.think about it he was probably thinking: IM NOT DIEING A VERGIN! )

the action was good.
I think that animes made from eroge games are most of the time let downs because the animes don't have enough episode numbers to cover all the things in the eroge
and that they have to pick a girl from the heroines (which is almost always the main one)
Im not really mad but I just wonder why the thing in the 11th episode didn't turn out to be a good end...

@kagailycocoX yeah the game was definitely better, but it always is isnt it. They kind of had her ending on the 11th episode but yeah i know thats why animes based off eroge games can be a let down sometimes, since the producers have to pick one girl for the guy to end up with or the story doesn't make any sense to the general audience and if its not the girl you wanted him to end up with then it just ends up making you mad, but oh well in my opinion it was still a good and fun anime to watch.

@mrshadow0121 Alright first, the reason why Yuka becomes like that is really kind of obvious actually. She is madly in love with Takeru, even obsessively, so when she sees Takeru and the red haired chick Misuzu "together naked" Yuka immediately misunderstands and thinks they "did it". Which then causes Yuka to hate Misuzu and to develop her "psychotic side" because she is afraid of having Takeru taken away from her, so she does everything to try and get him all to herself.

@mrshadow0121 Now in response to your second question. Really the best way to find out more about this is to actually play the game. It is hard to explain so I will try. First, everyone there was in their own dimension or world because their crystals that they had needed to be separated to be protected better, but through Yuka's influence or power i guess, she basically dragged Takeru and eventually everyone else into her "world". Which is then why the crystals could all be gathered up.

@mrshadow0121 The world thing, each person, like the "pieces" were put into different worlds when they were split up. Kinda like, they're on Earth (Well their version) but each one in a different dimension. So Yuka's power caused them to gather in one dimension, which was the one she's in. So, they all think they've been there the whole time.

@mrshadow0121 The reason he is still alive is, first because the anime is based off an eroge game. In this game there are multiple endings, like good and bad endings depending on how you play the game. The 11th episode where he dies would be a bad ending. The 12th episode then is a good ending and is basically completely unrelated from the previous episode. In other words its like the 11th episode never happened, nothing that happened during it and that he is still alive. pm me if need more info

For example, since many people just don't like a series for some reason or another they will bad mouth it and try to make others think it is a horrible show. When actually the show might turn out to be the best one you ever watched.
This show actually has pretty high ratings so I strongly suggest you check it out, but that is only my opinion take it or leave.

Whenever I watch this i keep thinking of Persona 3, maybe just becasue Kakeru looks kinda like the main guy in Persona 3 and that they transition into a place that looks sorta the dark hour, and that their powers sotra remind me of the persona powers.....guess theirs not that much resemblence at all XP

@Caxixi3322 That's because it is based off a game. The game is a visual novel where you make your own choices. I never played the game, but I know that you can choose any girl you want to be with and depending on the choices you make there can be a bad ending or a good ending. There are a couple of animes that are made from games like that such as Togai no inu, Angel's feather (Though that is also a role playing game), and I think Tears to Tiara is similar. I know it was a game turned anime.

yukiko was my favourite, and she was soo cute with takahisa.
kakeru and misuzu were also cute together, its sad that he stayed with yuka in the end even though she was crazy - putting the razor in the tea cup, not caring about the people dieing and he even saw in one of his visions that she does something really bad (wont say what, in case someone reads this who hasnt watched it yet). yuka was my least favourite.
