The part around 4:10 and about ten seconds or so after sounds a lot like "Hearts" off of 90125. Actually, I should say "Hearts" sounds a lot like this song. If you know "Hearts" then you know what I'm talking about. The part where he says: As we flow down life's rivers, I see the stars glow one by one. All angels of the magic constellation, be singing us now. Yeah, that part.
@karenkavful clearly you dont listen to yes at all. as a huge yes fan i feel that this song is an abomination to prog and yes. the entire tormato album is really quite horrendous, whoever posted thi musical molestation please remove it from youtube. I HAVE SPOKEN
@karenkavful Not sure what you are talking about Karen. I've only seen them live about 50 times, and each solo numerous as well. So, I guess you are right, I don't know what I am talking about. Don't Kill the Whale, Madgrial, Furture Times,..... molestation?!?!. Maybe you pedophiles shouldn't listen to Yes. :(
The last great album of Yes' classic period. Then they went that questionable 80s sound period that most bands seemed to gravitate toward. But my god, what a band during the 70s! And a great return to form with 2001's "Magnification."
Beautiful. I admit, that as a Yeshead, this was a song I Iiked, but not as much as 1970-1977. However, the charm of it and my favorite singer ever, Jon, plus seeing it on this video, proves that Yes can do no wrong. For those of you who were in Philadelphia for this concert, or other key Yes concerts, I know it is great memories you will always have. I would be interested to hear detailed comments from people who were here, 1979, for this concert, if you could let me know.
That's peculiar ... because for more than 25 years now, I have thought that this song was about a man showing his son the Wonders Of Heaven ... and the son, being used to the earth, missed Its true beauty because he didn't see what he had expected.
this is a story about a man who has children and they've seen everything but death. He can't tell them what heaven looks like but the kids tell him ...that there is no circus no candyfloss no bears.....no disneyland etc. only bullshit.....religion sucks. We all have one life to live. Let's pretend. If you are religious I love you too.lmfao
Tormato is great. Underrated by Yes fanatics, they to busy buggering their vinyl Close To The Edge to really appreciate Tormato. It would be amazing if Yes pulled this one out live.
Yep. I was there too (and loved every moment.) There is an audio of this song from the Chicago concert floating around the internet and I'm going to find it again. If I remember correctly, they played 2 nights, and WXRT broadcast the whole first night.
Once i reach fourth density, i'm travelling through time to see Yes in their prime. This song gives me chills through my inner being. its like looking at the innocence that is humanity. we have forgotten that we are fundamentally, intrinsically Perfect Love. open your hearts to the love permeating existence! Namaste
Well, Rick threw a tomato at the album cover, which they kept in and the name became Tormato, but it is not a bad album, not great, I say, but OK.

Odd to think that this cosmic guy Jon came from Accrington, Lancashire and once drove a lorry for a brick firm.

What a fantastic team of musicians.
Very accurate and beautiful performance.
This song sounds light and simple but it's not easy to play.
Some people would say it's not good... mainly for a band like Yes...
but the arrangement is incredibly clever :)

Don't know why this song isn't more appreciated if not the whole album.

I was there in Chicago too. Loved it.
A few hours in Heaven.
It was worth it.
Today, I can't afford it.
Will have to wait until I get there to hear it again.
Until then, thank God, there's youtube - lol

Man, Jon Anderson's voice is amazing...not many singers can go so high, you know. His voice was so high, that he couldn't sing falsetto.
