First off Im not your homie, second I was making an observation and stating a well know fact. Its not a kept secret. If you've worked been around the industry like I have, this would be the norm unfortunately.
Both of her parents are Dominican. And she is a mixed girl, just like all Dominicans. Her African roots, however are more dominant. You can say she is a black latina just because she looks more black than her other mixtures, but that would negate a HUGE part of her heritage. Please ppl, let's not be so closed minded...
Both parents are Dominican. Her father died in a car accident in DR when she was nine. Her mother LIVED in Puerto Rico for some time, but is Dominican. After Zoe's father died, her mom sent her and her sisters to DR to a boarding school, so her relatives in DR can help her raise the girls while she worked here (NY) to pay for theirs schools. Her mother's background is Dominican and Lebanese. Check out Zoe's website where she clearly states both her parents are from DR.

The latin world is just like America a melting pot. People who are mixed with both yes people who are white black asian can be latin too. Like I said before race is the color of your skin. Now as far as the islands go they are dominated by black people. NO ONE IN THE ISLANDS OR AMERICAS are 100% AFRICAN. NO ONE IS. That's why black people come in all shades. Wrong. I am of Haitian descent. Haitians are a mixture of Arawak Indian, French (European ancestry), and African ancestry. Haiti and the Dominican Republic are two countries who share an island (formerly known as Hispaniola). The languages, food, music and culture are ENTIRELY different. Not ALL Haitians are dark. Not ALL Dominicans are dark. Where do you people live? Certainly not NYC! The Carribean is a mixture of races. We identify ourselves by nationality, not race.

You telling me that if I move to The DR and have a family and 2 3 generations later they are no longer black people? I think not. People have mixed too much through out history to actual know if someone full black or full white. Therefore, you can only judge based on skin tone. The average person will not say that. They will say a black man is walking down the street.. We all get described by race. For example Obama. He's really mixed, but no ever says the first mixed President. They say the first Black President. It's not right, but that's the way it is.

Race is not an issue in Latin America because what unites all Latin people from Argentina and Brasil to Mexico and Dominican Republic is our Latin culture, common history, music, romance language, common legal and political institutions. Historically Domnicans are the mixture of Europeans, Indians, Africans, Asians and middle easterns.

First of all Hindu Indians are indian with no african ties. Most black in america are not 100 percent black because of the slave masters sleeping with slaves. Even thomas jefferson has black descendants. I myself have white and cherokee indian in me. So by your definition, there would be almost no black race in america and elsewhere if having blood of different races disqualified us from being black. Both of her parents are Dominican. And she is a mixed girl, just like all Dominicans. Her African roots, however are more dominant. You can say she is a black latina just because she looks more black than her other mixtures, but that would negate a HUGE part of her heritage. Please ppl, let's not be so closed minded...

Both parents are Dominican. Her father died in a car accident in DR when she was nine. Her mother LIVED in Puerto Rico for some time, but is Dominican. After Zoe's father died, her mom sent her and her sisters to DR to a boarding school, so her relatives in DR can help her raise the girls while she worked here (NY) to pay for theirs schools. Her mother's background is Dominican and Lebanese. Check out Zoe's website where she clearly states both her parents are from DR.
