This circuit rocks man..... i got mine with a tl072 buffer after.... running through 20ft cable with a fetzer valve circuit at amp's input and it truely rocks
Hi Plumbdogg, your music inspired me! 30 days ago i´ve saw your vid.... Well, I decided buy a guitar and a handfull of electronics components an today I finished my "joined+miniamp+bsiab2". Now I start learning blues. Thank a lot because you put me in this hard new world. Blues is the soul language. Please. look at video response...
Nice! I just made mine last week. Mine has got a jfet circuit in it and I just tweaked the trimmer pot yesterday. I found the "sweet spot", then the ped sounds kinda like an Orange "Tiny Terror"Tube amphead on distortion channel or a ToneBone maybe. Really happy with it.
I just built this one and a phaser from GGG. Under $100 for both. Never built anything like this before. Sound better than my Boss garbage. I'll never buy a overpriced pedal again.
Why does everybody insist on hittin' those lame ass shuffle tracks from the GC website??? I NEVER see somebody jamming those cool tracks that Pete Anderson put together. Damn. I geuss I"M going to have to do that....
I'm wondering why people are telling you to get Pods or guitarports when you aren't looking for a modeled sound, but I'm happy to hear that you came up with your own solution.
to blend your backing track and guitar together.....get guitarport with the recording software....its like 199 all together...bad part, you get a modeled sound for amps that are alright, but not totally accurate tonewise
Thanks. I bought an old Boss BR-532 Digital Studio so I can mic everything up with the SM57 or SM58. Sounds great for what I need but I haven't posted any videos with it yet.
I sanded and primed it then spray painted with a quaility enamel automotive metallic paint, then I threw it in an old toaster oven in the garage for 2hrs @ 150 deg.
Hey I saw your video so I had to have one of these. It's 3:14am and I just completed the build. Do you have any advice for setting the trim-pot besides just using the ole auditory canal? Sounding great man, keep on keepin on...
Im getting a lot of terrible hum/hiss from mine. Did you have that problem by any chance? I still have no idea where to start looking for the problem and its definitely not the trim-pot setting.
I didn't have any thing out of the ordinary. I think there was an article on the GGG website about that. I think it had to do with the transistors. Swap em out one at a time and see if that helps.
I finally built one of these bad boys myself using the circuit board sold by GGG & put on my own parts. It really sounds great. This is one of the best pedals I ever built because I can play on the clean channel of the Peavey Renown and still get this sound. In other words I don't have to just use the lead channel.
I have not tried it with either of my SG's though I just built the thing yesterday.
I would sugest for you to use Audacity. It's free (and open source) and you can play a backing track WHILE you are recording; just import it and start recording. That's exactly what you want to do :)
Also the program is about 2meg so it's really small and it is also very easy to use.
Doc here...That's a Champion Amp right? The pedal is pushin it nicely...Hard to believe that's comin from a 6 inch...I think I'm going to buy one tonight...I didn't really care for the Epi Jr. after good Mods but that was an El84 too...Humm...
BSIAB 2 (brown sound in a box ver.2) from general guitar gadgets dot com. You have to build it from their kit, I don't think he builds them for people.
Derek, Are you improving on this song? Your solo seems to fit the song so well..especally the note befor the turnaround. I would love to see a tutorial on how structured your solo.
Derek, Are you inproving this song? Your solo seems to fit into the song so well..especally the notes befor the turn around. A tutorial on how you structure your solos on this song would be cool.
I really like how you solo and then jump in and out of the rythem...I've been watching your vid and trying to emulate it with the same backing track. But I've been trying to copy stuff off of your other FX vids.
My BSIAB should be here any day. I'm gonna take my time with this one and paint it up.
I want to see a picture when you're done! I heard iron on transfers turn out nice on pedals but you have to use the right ones. then you print out your image and iron it on, maybe then you can clearcoat it.
thanks, no but I happened to go up to G.C. on that day to get some strings and I watched it. It was too late to join and it was won by a guy who was pretty good. He used his cell phone for a slide and I think that's why they gave it to him. Not to take anything away from him but that sort of stuff wins people over. I can't be that flashy.
That was awsome...I wish I would have built this FX first...you should get commision of of these videos. I've buit the TS and the BB because of you. What guitar and amp are you using...almost looks like a valve JR. still want you to do a tutorial on your playing.
Thanks Scott. Maybe coming soon. BTW I used the Fender Champion 600 that's in the poorman's bluesbreaker vid. all stock sg standard and stock champion 600. That king of the blues website has some nice backing tracks to jam to.
Blues Hammer! ;)

Sounds like a slow blues to me - not a shuffle. Cool sounding pedal; nice demo.

Get the POD Studio instead. Guitarport's old and overpriced. I don't know why they still sell them.

You can get toaster ovens for under twenty dollars.

is there any secret behind that silvery finish?
i want to do that to the a/b switch i ordered from GGG.

I just set it according to the instructions on the web site and set it for the fattest tone with the least amount of noise. Hope you enjoy the pedal!
