  • Thanks for this video. It got me started but it turns out my Frigidaire front load washing machine was not spinning because of a door latch. The belt looked good, it would slow spin during normal cycle or in the agitation phase in both directions and it was draining water. The door latch has two locks, 1 locks during normal cycle and the 2nd locks before the fast spin cycle for safety. The problem was that the 2nd lock was not engaging. Replaced the door latch and its as good as new.

  • i just want to tell you that our spin cycle wasn't working - realized it was the safety switch - so we popped up the lid - found the two sets of wires that went to the switch - and just cut them and hot wired each pair together -- and everything works!! we have no kids to accidentally put their hands in while the machine is moving so we just decided that we did not need the safety feature.

  • we replaced our motor coupiling a few months ago, and now the washer is draining but will not spin when there are clothes in it. it spins beautifully when it is empty... any advice?

  • I have a 12 year old 90 series kenmore after watching this informative video clip I was able to repair my washer with a simple 12" of wire. As in the video the tube was full of water and it would not spin. What I found was the plastic lid switch had come half apart. To remove switch remove the 2 phillip screws. If I had some strong glue that would of worked also. All I did was wrap wire around the split open switch and twisted it tight untill the switch closed back together
