  • not a 60th anniversary strat

  • Just bought the same guitar today and I love it

  • Songs are:

    1) Led Zeppelin - Since I've Been Loving You

    2) John Mayer - Waiting On The World To Change

    3) The Beatles - Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds

A sad point, that last song was inspired by a picture that Julian Lennon drew of his childhood friend Lucy O'Donnell (later Veddon), who passed away recently on 22 September 2009, aged just 46.

  • LED ZEPPELIN - Since I've loving you

  • was that waitin on the world to change by john mayor?

  • Yes, but the hammer-ons need a lot of work in between chords.

  • how much was this?

Because a mex standard is like 500

  • They're from 2006. I scored one before Christmas at the local music store, new and still in the box, for $399, a SWEEET deal.

  • i got one for 250 with the summer deal and my cousins discount.

  • i have that guitar and it's one of the nicest i've ever felt, the neck feels so good, better than alot of the american ones i've touched at guitar center, and it was my first fender strat =)

  • hey man nice playing there .

I just bought mine by watching ur videos i was really convinced by the sound and the price

I got it for 420 from new york including shipping

do u know how much was it originally when it came out in 2006? id apreciate!

    thanks!

  • where can i get 1 from

  • hey i have a fender strat im not sure what model it is. theres a sticker on the back of the headstock that has a diamond with a 60 in the middle, does that mean its 60th anniversary? mine is mexican and its an HSS. i'm trying to sell it for 400 do you think thats a good price to sell? nice playing by the way

  • If it doesn't has any damage, it's a good price to sell it. It's just a 60's strat probably... like mine

  • Are the pickups different in a 60th anniversary than in a standard MIM?

  • Yes. THe 60th Anniversary MIM uses TexMex pickups, The center PU is reverse wound, so you get a Humbucker effect in switch positions 2 and 4.

  • Is there really a difference between the anniversitys and the standard or americans?

  • IMO not really. There is a dif but its not that HUGH.

  • yeah, the pickups and paint finish are the only difference. Oh right and the name, that oh so special MIA XD, love the sound,

  • yes, they are a little better. they are called . Tex-Mex Pus

  • If you want something from Fender that's a notch above the rest, try their reissues. I've had an Amer. Std, MIJ strat, Mex. strat, a reissue, and one from the custom shop. The reissue & custom shop were equal to me,the Amer. Std. was good,my MIJ was equal or better, and I wasn't pleased with the Mexican. Budget plays it's part, but for the $ you can't beat a reissue.

  • Nice playing and a great guitar.

  • What gauge strings do you use?

  • Ernie Ball Slinkys 10-46

  • ok thanks! if i use 9's currently, on that same exact guitar, am i going to have to adjust the bridge or truss rod to fit it to 10's?

  • Thats a good idea. The thicker gauge strings you use on a strat the fuller the tone will be.

  • You probably wont have to adjust the truss rod if you're just going to 10's but 11 or higher you would. 10's dont pull on the neck that much harder than 9's imo. Some strings might be different though so this isnt a definite.

  • bought this guitar yesterday and its really good really really good!

  • Yea. ive had it about 2 years now and its great.

  • led zeppelin

  • Nice! I'm thinking about getting one of those amps

  • If you do you will really love it. Great clean and overdriven tones!!

  • what is the eq on the amp?

  • Sorry, I really cant remember.

  • I have the same guitar

  • Nice, how do you like it?

  • I got it for christmas 2006 and I STILL love it XD

  • Cool. I bought it for meself as a B-day gift and still love it.

  • can this get that super fat thick awsome john mayer tone( im tlking bout the amp by the way not the guitar)

  • Yea, I am planning on posting John Mayers Bold as love Solo, so check back later for that.

  • nice since I've been loving you intro. People knock MIM strats for some reason but they are lighter and don't cost a pile of money, and you definitely get a lot for your money.

  • True. They are great.

  • This does sound so sweet but I've always thought that the difference with maple is more to do with lacquer than wood.Unfinished maple is warmer for sure.Whatever...nice job.

  • Thanks Paul, unfinished maple do sound warmer. They feel a little better too.

  • Very sweet sound, buddy!

    Great playing, Casey!

I need to buy a maple Strat, too I guess.

I tried one a few weeks ago, very nice!

    Stu

  • I like rosewood a little better. BOth are great but rosewood feels better and sounds warmer. Thanks for the kind works Stu;)

  • Since I've Been Loving You ftw.

  • Sorry Bro. I can only understand english. Thanks for the comment though.

  • ~Dude you should join a band...you've got the vibe in your fingers...and you've got the right equip. for jammin'...~~

  • Thanks a lot ftele. Im thinkin about it, most people dont understand the blues though. all they want to do is play metal. Are you in a band?

  • Not currently...too many other things taking up my time...you've got lots of talent...~~~

  • Thanks a lot.You too. your wonderful tonight cover is one of the best ever;)

  • Who needs a TV,this YT is the business!!!!

  • I wish TV had a channel that showed guitar player like you. then Id watch;)

  • I got the same Strat. I'm very happy with it. It does play as good as an expensive American model. And it always stays in tune. I took a router(!) to it to install an internal Roland Synth pickup kit. It's sweet. Check it out at my WeakEndProductions Channel.

  • I really dig you Freaky Lead Guitar video. Its really funny;)

  • Great tone from the Jr. and Strat!

  • thanks, it more the gear then its me.

  • Another great video dude. That sounds really good. There's no way I could get those tones from my Line6!

  • Thats why you should buy a fender tube amp dude. If you dont want to break the banklike me buy this amps or a fender champion 600. its 5 watts, a 6 inch speaker, 1 12ax7 in the preamp and 1 6v6 for only $200. it sound really good too. i am thinking about getting one myself. You should post a video of you doin some blues.

  • Really then I will chain lock them... lol

John Mayer really knows how to play the guitar but most of the newer songs I know are just to soft for me. But I dig some of his songs he did with eric clapton and all the blues rock / Hendrix stuff.. He has a pretty voice too, but he needs to be more "raw" and more "grunge" to fit into my world "lol". c.u.

  • Yea I know what you mean. I dont like his first couple of albums, just not my taste, but Coutinum was preaty good. He need to stick to that formula. He sounds a bit like SRV to me. ;)

  • SRV is one of his idols.

  • SRV is one of my idols too Lol. I not as good as either of them though.

  • sweet, chilli peppers sound!! LSD always a fav of mine...

  • I dig the chilli peppers too. the songs i played were 1) since ive been lovin you by led zep 2) waitin on the world to change by John Mayer and on of my favs as well LSD by the Beatles. Hope you get some new vids up soon, and I found that you can lock videos to only youtube when you upload them

    peace;)

  • try using alternative pick ;)

  • I will next time. Thanks;)

  • Nice. I like Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds

  • Thanks George Harrison is a big hero of mine;)
