I admire Francesca and all those women that stay with their husband for the children and out of duty for I did not..I embraced "this kind of certainty does indeed come only once in a lifetime" and married him! I regret those that were hurt by my actions but this kind of happiness and love I have never known before...some may see me as selfish but I would give my very life for my children but I could not sacrifice or was unable to walk away from the love of a lifetime!

yeah this movie is just one huge tear jerker...esp because she does the right thing in terms of putting her family above her own interests,...it was about life and timing being off that couldn't make this relationship with richard (clint) work...not saying it wasn't easy or such but i just love this sort of moral emotional dilemma streep found herself in...and that one scene in which she and her real hubby is following richard (clint) in their truck...stops at the light yet she wans to run out

This is really good and the song choice is perfect. Especially if you've read the book...sacrifice is in deed what she did....very sad and heartbreaking. But in the end they were "together" as after her he never loved another woman again. As she in turn still loved him the rest of her life.

I just love Clint Eastwood in this movie. Couldn't help but cry in the end. That was a real tear jerker! Wish he would have made remakes of Love in The Afternoon and Ten North Fredrick Street, in fact he could still make them, as their stories of older men who fall in love with younger women. Love all Clint Eastwood movies. Thanks for showing this.

As well, many men probably fall into an affair with another woman if their wife is not making him feel special... After many years of marriage, it tends to become very stale and boring if both partners give up on each other too soon and too often... Marriage is hard work.

What a wonderful video for a wonderful film. And the songchoice is great too! This movie is a masterpiece! Top Acting! The tears just keep falling... The only part missing here is the last part when she's in the truck. That scene is heartbreaking... but soo strong. You feel the passion between them. <3
