Well some people may not believe this but... The Groke Anyone know that guy? from the moomin I dont know why im afraid of him it's just makes me feel scared she's just some purple that sound that grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrsssr.... makes me feel very scared it just feel's scary when you think that when you sleep some purple freezed scary thing came's up to you and just grrrrrrrrrsssss to you and then it frozez you or sometimes i have nightmares that the groke is following me and i run away
Loved the video. I just received my certification also. I am living my husbands dream.... as his dive buddy. But, I must admit, I think I am gonna love this now.... Can't wait to go to the Carribean! Dive training, does push your limits of self preservaton.... it's life or death down there... gotta be smart!
One time i shone lazers at cars at night when i was in the woods as they'd pass by on the highway...and then the cops showed up and they started searching around in the woods for us and we had to lay down flat on the ground cuz we couldn't get up, the leaves we're too crunchy...so yeah they just passed by us, but this has happened more than once, and one time we shone a car and they got out and chased us through the woods with a carbage can swearing at us how they were gonna kill us.
SPIDER. Well I can`t explain what happens when I see one (even on TV or Computer). Well I feel something like a spider wlaking on me, I imagine one, I begin breathing hardly and I close it and when I sleep, I hhave nightmares. Can you imagine what would even if a spider would REALLY touch me?
then it touches you. thats it. nothing special. you would probably realize that you have been a coward all these years for absolutely no reason and try to forget that you were ever scared of such tiny unthreatening insects like spiders.
at least thats what i imagine what would happen in case you would touch one.
I got into a huge set of waves scuba diving next to rocky cove and almost got all bashed up! that scared me! But once safe, I realized how much I learned from the experience! Growth!!! love your video. thanks, see mine of that day with the scene at the end where I get pulled into the set of waves!
Continuation of last posting. No need for hyperbaric chamber. Never lost consciousness. Was diving within 2 weeks. Have dived Galapagos, Cozumel, Bonaire, manatees in Florida AND two local dirty cold quarries since my misadventure. A little thing like having a heart attack under water at 90foot won't keep me from diving LOL. I love your videos, sense of humour and your looks. Have fun diving and stay safe. We practise and dive most weekends at Dutch Springs in Allentown PA.
Hows this for a scare? I had a slight heart attack at 90ft in a local quarry in PA. Plus a free flowing regulator. Couldnt breath from my buddies octo and wondered why as the attack stopped me taking breath strong enough to relaese air from my buddies octo. Same thing happened on my own octo. Same thing happened on 'buddy breathing' sharing final regulator. Surfaced as slow as possible. Breathed pure oxygen at the surface. Spent 5 days in Hospital for observations.
Congrats on your cert. I just got mine last week. Being w/o my mask scared me at first, but because I had a great instructor, I got used to it and now I am perfectly comfortable in and under the water.
LOL! I enjoyed both your scuba videos. I'm a divemaster and just want to congratulate you on your certification. I hope you get a chance to dive all over the world as I have. It's a male dominated sport for sure, so I love to hear when another woman joins the sport!
Thanks! I dove in Hawaii and it was really nice, then right before going to Cozumel I found out that I'm pregnant, VERY pregnant now, but hopefully after the baby's born I'll get some other opportunities.
yewwish35...I'm glad to hear you're thinking about getting certified. I've been diving for years. I'm a PADI Instructor. I have lived in the British Virgin Islands and taught many tourists how to dive. And I promise you, it is not dangerous if you pay attention to your instructor and do as you are told. These people who are telling you it's dangerous, are they certified themselves? I'm betting they are not. Because anyone who is certified knows that it is a very safe, and VERY rewarding, hobby.
I recently went cage diving with Great White Sharks, not that the idea of diving with them while behind the protection of the cage was all that scary. It's what happened while actually doing it that was scary, you will have to see my video to really understand... The video is titled "Great White Shark Accident", but don't let it be an excuss to stop diving!!!
I took a job as a lecturer at my university. My first class was 320 students. Just me in front of 320 students. I think the only thing that got me through it was my passion for the topic I was covering.
Gosh, do I know how you feel! I tried to avoid this for years! I think the best thing to do is find a dive instructor you feel comfortable with. My first dive instructor made a big deal that if I were too afraid I just shouldn't do it. I quit and got a new instructor that was ready to help me despite my fears.
Also, You start small, like in the shallow end of a pool and work up which really helps!
What are you afraid of? What do you think will happen? Find an instructor who can give you the necessary training (and confidence) that you can prevent your worst fears.
Stacie's right. A good, patent instructor is the best way to go. My instructor took loads of extra time with me to make sure I was comfortable in the water before he would certify me.
What scared me was getting the nerve to let down my guard and perform in front of people. Now? Yeah. No problems here. :) It was during my monologue class where I finally found the nerve and it was one of the best performances I've done. (In class, that is.) :D
Yikes!!! Monologues ARE scary! Acting with people is so much easier. I have had to fight my fear of monologues sort of with YouTube. Talking into the camera freaks me out! Good for you to overcome your FEARS!!!
Oh man... I was a mess, Stacie! LOL! I kept having to remind myself that everyone there had to stand up and perform their monologue, too. To top it off they filmed it and played it back for critique!! UGH! On my way home I cried because they used possibly the biggest screen they could find and all of my insecurities were amplified!! LOL... I was a ridiculous wreck.
Something that scared me wasn't the first time I jumped from a plane. It was the second time. The first jump I was nervous because I had no clue what to expect, so when they said jump, I jumped. The second time was the scary one because I knew exactly what to expect.
So now I tell everyone that they have to do it twice otherwise they are gyping themselves out of a good scare :)
Wow! You are sooooo brave! That would be to scary for me! Scuba diving is really testing my limits. It would probably be nothing to you. Skydiving - you're amazing!
Haha, it's funny to see how different people observe different activities. The idea of sky and scubadiving aren't a fraction as scary to me as making a vlog. The closest I've come to that was a MadV response, lol. I'll let you do the scary stuff of being in front of the camera :)
yojim - I don't think I've seen monkeys that could pass that course. Unless you are referring to my husband, hehe, Even the written test was hard, and I'm an educated woman.
having sex with a really fat chick was what really scared me the most, things went too far, so many regrets, and i don't "feel a sense of accomplishment"
To be honest... I really did grab a bull by the horns. I always liked watching a rodeo and such be was always afraid of being in one until i signed up and well rode the bull! I only last 3.89 seconds but it was my first time...
Dalek - WOW! Not just a figure of speech anymore. Good for you! I can't imagine doing that. I did once MEET the female bullriding world champ, but I do like in Oklahoma.
DoRay - Snakes! I just had a stinky smell at my door and looked up and a dead snake was hanging half in the storm door and half out. I was coming in from the roof when....
now you are Certified you can go diving for your own pearls. What I've Done that Scared me...my buddies and I was shooting watermelons out of each others hands
Oh my GOSH! That is the craziest thing I have ever heard. I just now saw this comment. Don't know how I missed it? I hope you are okay! Let me know so I do not worry!
I tried to over come my fear of swearing in front of my pops when I was 5, but I don't remember if I over came it really till I awoke from the coma 20 years later..lol
Watching my son being born was scary! I didn't grab that fear by the horns but I grabbed the wifes legs pretty good, they say..lol
As you know, my hubby's gonna be a doc (less than 1 year now!). The OBGYN made him, MADE HIM, deliver Juliet. He was horrified as well as terrified, but now tells everyone proudly that he delivered his baby girl... oh yea, I was there, too
i hate/scare doing anything in front of many people. ive done it few times but it still scares me ALOT! i just hate it. and yeah, diving is scary too. if i had some equipment that allows you to breath underwater, i guess i could probably do it :) swimming is ok but diving is just.. i panic when i try to go underwater..
I'm a scuba training assistant... (1) Knowledge (training), plus (2) gently progressive Experience, is the combination your son could benefit from. Find a patient scuba instructor who will start in the shallow end, teach basic skills, then move at the student's rate. My Significant Other went from a non-swimmer afraid of the water (she almost drowned twice in childhood) to scuba cert in ~12 months!
I think we all feel that at times in our life, but it doesn't go away. When you actually find the person, you then start to fear losing them. I worry my husband will die and I'll be old and alone
hehe .. well i'd have to say at the top of the list is climbing a 900 foot sheer rock face .. for 12 hours .. the last 2 hours were in TOTAL DARKNESS .. my headlamp / flashlight failed .. haha .. it wasn't that scary really though .. it was pretty at times .. the lights of the houses below .. it was Whitesides Mountian in cashiers NC .. and there ya go .. your friend jeff
Back from my vacation in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Great video. One fear that I overcame was fear of heights. I did it once. I went tandem skydiving in July 2001. We jumped at 14,000 feet. I have a video of it I need to convert and upload. We fell 9,000 feet in 1.5 minutes, then pulled the chute. I was scared to death, but I did it.
OMGosh! That is amazing! How terrified you must have been! Let me know when you get that up. Make it a video response if you want. that'd be sooooo awesome!
i just want to say CONGRATS on your cert! what scared me the most was back in 1996 i was fighting the wildcat forrest fire in oregon, and when we thought we where just getting it contained, it turned on me. i had enough time to pull my fire retardant blanket over my body, flames going over me is a sound i'll never forget. so now i scuba dive as well. again congrats on your o.w. cert and dive often!
rock on! i have 75 logged dives, 5 certs, & 1 specialty. not bad for diving just over 2 1/2 ( two and a half) years. safe diving and enjoy the every dive!
sure you will. diving is fun, and the one thing to remember is, the more you learn, the safer and more expeirenced you become. just like my tae kwon do instructor ( who is also my brother and my dive buddy ) says "never skip breath."
I hear that the Rose girl ... LG15 is making a REAL movie. It could happen, right? I have gotten at least one paying job from my Youtube Channel. I guess you are right though...
Much love and respect for taking on the specter of fear! What do I fear? Ok, I fear a world run by Fear Itself. I fear that the populace is buying into their own helplessness... the idea that the PEOPLE need single leader to think for them is ludacrous!! Fear is empty air dressed to look like jagged Hell!!! Lean into you fears, dare them to do their worst and STRIKE them down when they try!!!!!!!
Wow, deep! We know that someday what happened to Rome will happen to us. One day a president will try to take to much power and we will have to make a change. I hope that day is not today, but one day it will happen.
Awesome for you! It is scary putting yourself, as a person, out here for all to judge! I felt pretty annonymous until I was outed by the NBC affiliate. Here I'll send it to you.
Congrats on the Divers License. Yes, it's very cute but now that you're certified you do know what wearing your mask on top of your head is the "International Sign" for, right? HaHa!
im scared of my own ability in different aspects of life, some things im confident with, some things im not,but like you said, thats what makes you the person you are.
It seems like whenever I start getting really comfy cozy in my life, something rocket booster blasts me out of my comfort zone. In the long run, when I look back, those times are what have given me the push to reach true achievement.
You are young. It is so scary to wonder if we will ever find that person that makes everything right! I am very lucky in that department. I wish you the same!
Thanks, if you notice, this one is Famous Stacie Blue, where the other one (I was wearing my husbands) was yellow. My hubby went and got me all my own equiptment. Lucky Me!
hi stacey. the thought that i might marry the wrong girl one day scares me... but don't worry i'm safe for the moment. maybe too safe - being a little bit scared would be nice.
That is a valid fear. In Oklahoma we have one of the highest divorce rates. I am soooo glad I married my husband. He is my soulmate. I guess we can't control anyone else...just make sure you're the right guy!
Fo sho! You and Drew Barrymoore. That grabbing some empowerment in the moment. I remember that ride. It's the one that has the funky smells and stuff.
Teaching is sooooo scary, but rewarding. All the little eager faces looking at you for knowledge. Yikes! What a great way to choose to conquer your fear. After teaching you must not be afraid of any kind of public speaking anymore. That's Awesome!
Well done Stacie. Well deserved and that was well fast! U only started it a few days ago. Being alone used to scare me, then I moved into a 2 bed flat in the next town over from my family and just got on with it. I'm now about to move 340 miles north of my family on my own :O I would never have done that 2 years ago!! Thats the only fear I've ever conquered. I have others but I just cant face it yet!!
Wow! Good for you! That is a huge feat. I think I would freak out. I have NEVER, I mean NEVER EVER slept alone. Parents house to sorority house to husband's house and my parents are right down the road!
Ghosts totally scare me! We moved into new house my last year of high school and I slept on the couch downstairs for a year till I went to college because I was CONVINCED my new room was haunted!
I conquered my fear of needles by becoming a heroine junkie! :D
Kidding of course

And I want to get over it, because my wife likes this sport, she tells me that I don't have to do what I don't want to do.
See there is the problem, I would love to try it, but my mind says no way!
Anybody suggestions?

Watching my son being born was scary! I didn't grab that fear by the horns but I grabbed the wifes legs pretty good, they say..lol
Peace ouTY!

As you know, my hubby's gonna be a doc (less than 1 year now!). The OBGYN made him, MADE HIM, deliver Juliet. He was horrified as well as terrified, but now tells everyone proudly that he delivered his baby girl... oh yea, I was there, too
TheFamousStacie 4 years ago
i hate/scare doing anything in front of many people. ive done it few times but it still scares me ALOT! i just hate it. and yeah, diving is scary too. if i had some equipment that allows you to breath underwater, i guess i could probably do it :) swimming is ok but diving is just.. i panic when i try to go underwater..
Skatefreak1988 4 years ago
Like scuba diving or like high dive diving? My son panics about water over his head too. Any suggestions?
TheFamousStacie 4 years ago
I'm a scuba training assistant... (1) Knowledge (training), plus (2) gently progressive Experience, is the combination your son could benefit from. Find a patient scuba instructor who will start in the shallow end, teach basic skills, then move at the student's rate. My Significant Other went from a non-swimmer afraid of the water (she almost drowned twice in childhood) to scuba cert in ~12 months!

That is scary, for sure, no doubt!

Live the rest of my life alone. It was okay for a while but....
I am ohhh so happy you have found someone. :)
IAGuy06 4 years ago
I think we all feel that at times in our life, but it doesn't go away. When you actually find the person, you then start to fear losing them. I worry my husband will die and I'll be old and alone
TheFamousStacie 4 years ago
Yea, I understand that but I'm guessing/hoping you don't think about that as much as I think about the alternative.
Sorry, didn't mean for you to think about that. :(
IAGuy06 4 years ago
Probably true...
TheFamousStacie 4 years ago
Good question
I still haven't conquered it yet... I have never played guitar in front of a live crowd, like open mike night...

I played the flute in front of my church a few ago. It was sooooo scary, but it also set me free, in a way...

TheFamousStacie 4 years ago
hehe .. well i'd have to say at the top of the list is climbing a 900 foot sheer rock face .. for 12 hours .. the last 2 hours were in TOTAL DARKNESS .. my headlamp / flashlight failed .. haha .. it wasn't that scary really though .. it was pretty at times .. the lights of the houses below .. it was Whitesides Mountian in cashiers NC .. and there ya go .. your friend jeff
capo420420 4 years ago
Ya! that sounds pretty scary! I love rock climbing, never done it at night though!
TheFamousStacie 4 years ago
scary! don't tell anyone, wouldn't want to ruin my rep as a bad boy (you know, VEINS and PLASTIQUE) yeah, heights are still my thing.

I was scared to death, but I did it.
photorestore 4 years ago
OMGosh! That is amazing! How terrified you must have been! Let me know when you get that up. Make it a video response if you want. that'd be sooooo awesome!
TheFamousStacie 4 years ago
i just want to say CONGRATS on your cert! what scared me the most was back in 1996 i was fighting the wildcat forrest fire in oregon, and when we thought we where just getting it contained, it turned on me. i had enough time to pull my fire retardant blanket over my body, flames going over me is a sound i'll never forget. so now i scuba dive as well. again congrats on your o.w. cert and dive often!
jeff98208 4 years ago
Wow! I'm terrified just reading that. How brave you must feel for surviving that! I will be diving for real tomorrow for the first time!
TheFamousStacie 4 years ago
rock on! i have 75 logged dives, 5 certs, & 1 specialty. not bad for diving just over 2 1/2 ( two and a half) years. safe diving and enjoy the every dive!
jeff98208 4 years ago
Wow that's a lot! I don't know if I'll be able to sleep tonight! I'm so scared.
TheFamousStacie 4 years ago
sure you will. diving is fun, and the one thing to remember is, the more you learn, the safer and more expeirenced you become. just like my tae kwon do instructor ( who is also my brother and my dive buddy ) says "never skip breath."
jeff98208 4 years ago
I did it. I am going to put a vid on at some point telling about it!

TheFamousStacie 4 years ago
What would you do to change the world? (pageant question)
TheFamousStacie 4 years ago

It seems like whenever I start getting really comfy cozy in my life, something rocket booster blasts me out of my comfort zone. In the long run, when I look back, those times are what have given me the push to reach true achievement.

hi stacey. the thought that i might marry the wrong girl one day scares me... but don't worry i'm safe for the moment. maybe too safe - being a little bit scared would be nice.
2cool4gruel 4 years ago
That is a valid fear. In Oklahoma we have one of the highest divorce rates. I am soooo glad I married my husband. He is my soulmate. I guess we can't control anyone else...just make sure you're the right guy!
TheFamousStacie 4 years ago
Fo sho! You and Drew Barrymoore. That grabbing some empowerment in the moment. I remember that ride. It's the one that has the funky smells and stuff.
TheFamousStacie 4 years ago
Teaching is sooooo scary, but rewarding. All the little eager faces looking at you for knowledge. Yikes! What a great way to choose to conquer your fear. After teaching you must not be afraid of any kind of public speaking anymore. That's Awesome!
TheFamousStacie 4 years ago
Well done Stacie. Well deserved and that was well fast! U only started it a few days ago. Being alone used to scare me, then I moved into a 2 bed flat in the next town over from my family and just got on with it. I'm now about to move 340 miles north of my family on my own :O I would never have done that 2 years ago!! Thats the only fear I've ever conquered. I have others but I just cant face it yet!!
