  • should i buy a PC that has this processor with 6gb of ram and 1tb hard drive for under 500,main purposes are video rendering from a dazzle and playing fps games.

  • What is the difference between phenom and phenom 2?

  • Can i remove my amd phenom@ 2.5 GHZ and put an AMD phenom2? Or do i ned a new motherboard?

  • Can u use this for gaming? or not recomended

  • @HarpSama i use it for gaming its really good. i have mine at 3.4

  • what a failure of a review... he doesnt even try to overclock to 4ghz.. of course this is MADE for overclocking thats why the voltage is so low!! noone cares about unlocked multi you should use fsb anyway...

  • @TheMoo1231 Increasing the multiplier is the best way possible, because you don't have to worry about dividers on the RAM.

  • Whats better..

AMD Athlon II Quad Core @ 3.00 GHz

    or

    AMD Phenom x4 @ 2.50 GHz

  • @helloimclaudio

    athlon

  • @helloimclaudio Phenom.

  • @helloimclaudio I'd say the Phenom because they're built to withstand heavier loads. I think Athlons are more for the Everyday user.

  • Nice Video

  • LoL but if the max temp is 33.. and threshold is 71! and c3.. this should be able to 4ghz easily with ov' even without multiplier i guess

  • Holy shiz max temp 71! i wish my 955 was that! =(

  • AMD ROCKS

  • Where does he get the processer checker for the voltage etc?

  • What is that converter,

  • anymore new video???

  • nice nice

I`ve got it on my win7

  • What is that converter, please send me a link plz.

  • Good :) put the transcribe its funny!

  • Great stuff as always!

  • energy efficient= less power= less heat= better performance :P

  • i7 FTW.

  • @MandeepGadgetBoy

    +1

But Phenom ii x4 9xx are quite great

  • yes lol.

  • good!

  • Please tell me one more thing...I have an Intel Core Duo processor with 4 GB or RAM...I heard this is the MINIMUM amount of RAM to run the x64 version correctly....If I install it then, will my laptop become slower? Cheers

  • @hsavik

    no the os determines that.

  • sweet

  • what youtube program was that ?

  • @ytkuser mediashow espresso

  • lololo

  • 1.178 v is low voltage??

    i've got an i5 @ 3.2 GHz @ 1.128 v

  • @AndreaFranchitti

    you get crash

  • @1mper1alGuardsMen

    no crashes ;)

  • AMD CPUs have a much higher voltage. The 965, top of the line (currently) has a max voltage of 1.5V while Intel generally has smaller voltages. For AMD, this CPU is a breakthrough.

  • @infinitizedvirtue the voltages doesn't make so much sense it is more about the power it uses a core i7 uses more watts than an phenom

  • I have listened to your you tube videos many times. Always enjoyed them. I'm in the process of starting my own you tube videos and have been impressed with your level of professionalism with respect to the introductions and wrap ups. Is there a place online which I could find tutorials on how to produce a similar professional looking you tube presentation? Thanks in advance for your response.

  • what youtube program was that

  • wich cpu is better the i5 or the 910e

  • How are you able to record while on full load? Wouldn't it be laggy?

  • very good video. Thanks for your hard work pcwiz =]

  • Nice CPU. Definately very energy efficient.

When buying CPUs though there's one good advice you should remember. If you're going for the "big guns" and want max. performance, go with Intel. But in budget CPUs, AMD is better.

  • Very impressive cpu. Not for hardcore gamers or hardcore rendering, but it seems to be very good for casual gamers and home cinema applications. Judging from those temps you can throw on a nice and quite cooler without having to be affraid that it runs hot. Pricing has always been odd in cpu's, guess the manufacturing costs are not that different between mainstrain and flagship.

  • Did you use the stock cooler, or an aftermarket?

  • what's the name of the video convertor?

  • @muiecopyright He uses CyberLink MediaShow Espresso.

  • thanks man.

  • Wow what a great cpu. Stays cool and uses low voltage.

  • What program did you use to encode?

  • @mng1994 He uses CyberLink MediaShow Espresso

  • Hey PCWizKid i bought my HP desktop about three years ago and i recently found out that my AMD Athlon 64 x2 6000+ CPU is clocked at 3Ghz and running at around 65-70 degrees celcius but the max temp that AMD gave is about 63. I don't think that it should be clocked at 3Ghz but the motherboard is OEM so i can't underlocked/overclock and when i try upgrading my CPU cooler it does nothing because my motherboard won't let the fan RPM go any higher... Please help.

  • Those prices don't make sense to me. $10 more buys you a black edition flagship CPU. Or $4 less gets you basically the flagship with a lower stock multiplier (2 seconds in bios to up it.). I like my PII 720 BE and I would say for the money its the best buy. But AMD needs to get it together on the prices. Then again, those are SRP's and I am sure you'll find this CPU on sale soon enough for ~$150 USD.

  • i have an amd phenom II x4 810 default is 2.6 ghz but i got it to 3.25 @1.45v

  • what program do you use for converting video? just woundering and sory for asking if you have allready said it some where but i dont think you have

  • he answered it in one of this answer backs

  • @runescaperpglover He uses CyberLink MediaShow Espresso.

  • Those temps are very low. Was the stock hsf being used here?

  • cool

  • very good cpu its only 65 watts 3.1 oc seems easy with default settings and it runs coooooool

  • getlow1985, the video converter is media show espresso

  • My next build will be AMD 6 core CPU

  • It achieves this simply by lowering the voltage core. Just lower the frequency to 2.6GHz and V-core on a Phenom II X4 925 or 945 to 1.2 volts and you'll get similar results. If you want to stay at stock speeds while lowering the temps. and efficiency then lower the V-Core to 1.3.

  • cool and what is that video converter?

  • Hoping for some upcoming reviews of the i7 soon.

  • I'm looking to upgrade from a Phenom II X2 550 Black Edition, so this might be an option.

  • did you try to unlock the other cores?

  • @ArmyofSeaturtles

Yeah, my system failed to boot.

  • wait its the same price as a 955 black edition?

  • oh well. looking at the purpose of the CPU i'd actually like to see how much power it needs and how well it you can undervolt it (TDP doesn't say anything).

unless you compare it with other CPUs game tests are kind of pointless because results mainly depend on graphics power.

i also want to note that the psu of your test system is incredibly oversized. ;)

  • @gagagogotralafitti , lets just say that I can confirm it uses 30 to 50 Watts less system power than your other Intel or AMD Quad Cores. The Gfx tests were to show that you can ue it for a gaming rig no problem. Despite the PSU being oversized since its a 80 plus efficient it does not actually utilize more than your 500W PSU in this test system, so no need to worry about that.

  • @gagagogotralafitti Actually at low resolutions, i.e. 1024x768, the CPU plays a much larger role in determining performance. It can be an effective way to show difference in game performance in CPU constrained situations.

  • Nooby question but how do you get the CPU-Z window

  • @Damage9i05 Google CPU-z and download it.

  • nice cpu

  • PCWizKid - I have a Acer Aspire 5737Z and I'm running Vista Ultimate. It's the 32bit version but I guess it also supports 64bit versions...If I install the 64bit version, will it perform BETTER? What's the difference? Cheers

  • @hsavik, it will perform better for your multi-threading CPU operations and for 64bit compatible software if you have any. Otherwise there is not much difference for the average , casual user

  • Thanks for your answer :D I'll install the 64bit version, then. Cheers

  • @hsavik get windows 7

  • I did....I didn't see much of a difference between them, so I reversed to Vista... But is it faster to have the 64bit version? Cheers

  • Vista to 7 is a real upgrade. its not about the looks, its about speed and stability. Windows 7s aero interface does have some features that enhances efficiency, like aero peek.

the aero snap features are just annoying sometimes

  • @nelizmastr Windows is the best for gaming but security... hum sorry buddy the same virus that kill WinXP do the same damage on Win7.... This is a open marked for AV programs....

  • not just windows is the best gaming.

its 2 specific versions. Vista and 7.

and your wrong. Viruses dont do the same damage on all kernels. each kernel has its basic protection which is better than another one.

  • @nelizmaster Yes, I guess I'll install Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit on my PC.....Thanks everyone for advising ;)

    Peace

  • Yep, no question...

  • hey, for a review can you look at the best priced graphics card? $100-120

    £64-£75

  • 9800GT

  • nvidia?

  • What u mean nvidia?

  • Agreed. lol

  • WOW!

  • Heyyy, where's your cursor from?

  • it looks like the cursor from Fedora

  • @TheTomD It's his own, download it from his website

  • Thanks, mate.

  • Hey PcWizKid, will you ever have enough money to buy a i7 Core Processor?

  • Hey fanboy, he has an i5 @4.2GHz and also a 2nd AMD X4 rig

  • wait for the Phenom II x4 960T comes out 6 cores

  • when are they gonna become released if ya know?

  • when does this come out?

  • it has but more retailers will have it soon

  • well then its obviously gonna be called the Phenom II x6 960T

  • a CPU that pays you back after time i guess

  • Intel Are better

  • in this range nope :D

  • PCWizKid - I have a Acer Aspire 5737Z and I'm running Vista Ultimate. It's the 32bit version but I guess it also supports 64bit versions...If I install the 64bit version, will it perform BETTER? What's the difference? Cheers

  • AMD = <3

  • amazing

  • looks smexi
