Every high-quality LCD has scanlines it's normal, people are cheap and find reasons to bash Sony. Everyone who (those that I know) has a 3000 says that the scanlines are not that bad at all, you won't see them unless you sit less than 1inch from your screen. The sreen is the best out of the other PSP's.
lol where is the lines they are telling us in the reviews... yeah ur right..ul only notic the problem if the screen is .5inch 2 ur eyes.. i dont see any problems here...
i think the diagonal strips on the screen, i probably purchase psp 3000 under £10 then later to see if the screen really that bad before i buy Dissdia limited edition
sony was better of to put a oled screen, inside, cuzz it,s lichter, cheaper, saves alot of power and space, and it will avoid ghosting and/or featuring artifact's.
any scan lines? I really need some ones opinion because i need to buy a system soon because Christmas is coming up and I dont want to be scrambling around to find one because everything is sold out :P
the interlacing is not a problem, well to me. To me, it looks like the same ghosting effect every other PSP versions have. The fact that the pixels are aligned horizontally, gives the picture (games especially) a less pixelated look. If you don't understand, it reduces that block image like the graphics of the N64 if you've seen it. It reduces those blocks at the edges, giving the image a less sharp but better look at edges. Plus a wider color gamut. Buy the PSP 3000.
there is better colours and not so much ghosting right? :)
I know i shouldnt be asking you this, but there is scanlines right? But ive seen my friends psp-3000 and we couldnt find them, they were there only a few times and for like 1 second..
There are scanlines for every interlaced screen display. Due to the faster response time in the new PSP 3000, they are near invisible like the 2000 screen. The 2000 had it too but what made the PSP 3000 so more noticeable is the difference in pixels. 2000's pixels are smaller and are aligned vertically. 3000 is a bit bigger and they are aligned horizontally. If you're seeing a few, you can buy the PSP 3000 with no screen problems like the others.
ok if u have ever had ever had a PSP, u should know tht the screen has ghosting problems. This is because of the screen's refresh rate. On the PSP 3000, they doubled the refesh rate of the screen to lessen the ghosting effect which it did sucessfully. But doing so seemed to have made scanlines more visible. eg. ever record yur tv or pc monitor and u see a black box going up? Those are scanlines. On a 85 Hz pc monitor its near invisible to see it. The speed determines the ghosting effect.
no not like tht. The scanlines are lessen because of the refresh rate. If u look on tht video u dont see scanlines from the PSP. Yes, the colours are crisper. But the fact is, the whole scanline issue just gives the image the ghosting effect but in a different look because of the allignment of the pixels.
and the ghosting effect is caused by the scanlines. The scanlines are more visible because of the color gamut technology they have put into the screen. The wider color space takes up more battery power thus to save battery power, they had to leave the interlace rate, not the refresh rate, interlace rate of the screen the same, thus seeing the scanlines. U see them more because of the vibrant new colors installed on the screen.
Yeah I would buy it because unlike most people who stick the game right in their face and play, I play at a distance. If u normally stick the game in yur face while playing, I do not recommend it for u because u will see the scnlines more easier. Most PSP 3000 scanline issue videos shows the screen nearer than regular distance viewing. The best thing u can do is test it before buying it (test with fast games tht cause ghosting) yur looking for black lines in the ghosting area. Satisfied, buy it
i agree with you i am going to get thie on the 1st of december and you dont have to explain to this people they just dont now what a color gamut is and they need help so forget them i am psp 2000 owner but upgrading cause my screen is broke

Oh, so u mean there is alot of scanlines on the PSP3000 but crisper colours?
But man! i really like the PSP3000! the design and thinner ring was the best design ive seen, it was the most sexiest so far to me.
Now i really dont know if i should buy it! :(
