i seems to me that his major motive is for people to think for themselves and question god. I myself believe that everyone should question god. If you were born in church.. step out for a while and question. What I don't like is someone that is an extreme atheist or extreme religious fool. Dr. Dawkins will not say there isnt a god "God almost certainly does not exist" but why does he think people are crazy who believe.

Then think about the possibility of an infinite amount of equally powerful, equally plausible gods exsisting based on just faith based reasoning. The probability of just one of them being the right one is so close to zero that to claim that this one god is the right one even though the chances are far beyond 1/infinite to be right.

The church of England (the only one to have an atheist as one of its bishops) states that God is the best working hypothesis at this point. The same way that ether were and electrons are used in science.
The Dalai Lama says that he is open to scientific progress and will abandon his religious beliefs if science proves them invalid. Until then he will retain them.
There is nothing prehistoric or unscientific in either of those beliefs.

"Truth" is the furthest thing from Dawkin's mind. He's not even scientific. He believes in the "Big Bang" and the "primordial soup", which he has NEVER seen, and there is NO evidence for. Yet, he'd rather attack others about God, whom they believe in and never seen. Yet, the complexity of life is the evidence of an intelligent, all powerful Creator, and nothing else. Dawkins is a Darwinist, not a scientist.
