  • The reverb on his voice is fantastic. Great tune!

  • when i hear this song i feel patriotic.

  • I am not Jamaican but this song touches my very core.

  • @nedatronics

true also of those of us who lived in Jamaica, but were not necessarily true-born Jamaicans.... it was a really big tune at a tough time when things just seemed to be going downhill. it was perceived at the time to be a liiiiittle bit too cuddly towards the PNP/Manley government, but it has endured the test of time and is still relatively popular, regardless of political affiliation.

ironically, Pluto and many, many others wound up leaving JA the year after this song....

  • @blakbeltjonez - seems to happen a lot... people who say they would never leave Jamaica...end up having to do so for one reason or another.

  • Pluto is so great- thanks for posting this.

  • wicked, wicked, wicked,

  • THANK YOU THANK YOU....THANK YOU!, for posting dis vid. NUFF LUV & RESPECT

  • Great tune; but ironic as so many of us left Ja.

  • @ajustso I think most people left ja for better opportunities- If there were more opportunities some of them would have surely stayed. Well some of them would still migrate because some of them are foreign minded.

  • bless,truth man a talk,bless

  • :) wicked tune!

  • Very interesting. I know of an Impalas 45 on this label which is an amazing doowop/soul ballad. I believe this label is from Long Island, NY. I wonder if Pluto was a New Yorker or Steady bought the tapes from a producer.

  • @PJDooWop

Pluto was definitely Jamaican, his releases were on Wild Flower in Jamaica, part of the Federal Studios empire which had a US deal with Steady for Federal/Wild Flower/Playback/etc. labels.

lots of Federal hits were put out in the US by Steady.

  • I've got a few Wild Flowers.. One of my favorite albums is on Wild Flower - "Sweet Dreams" by Dobby Dobson. Thank you for the info!

  • Great stuff!!
