Three books by Christopher Hitchens that had gone out of print will be revived in paperback and e-book, the publishers of the titles said. Twelve, an imprint of the Hachette Book Group, will release the three books on April 10. The titles are “The Missionary Position,” a study of Mother Teresa; “No One Left to Lie To,” a best-selling examination of Bill Clinton; and “The Trial of Henry Kissinger.”
This is probably my favorite speech of Hitchens' too, but I must disagree on one small part. Where he says "meeting the author would almost surely be a disappointment" speaking about Shakespeare. I never got to meet Hitchens personally before he passed and I'm just happy enough to know of him while he was alive, but meeting the author of God is Not Great and so many other wonderfully written books by him would certainly not be a disappointment. His works will be immortal and so will he. R.I.P.
It's strange. Although I've never met him, I miss him deeply. It's like it was comforting just to know that somebody like Hitchens was alive at the same time as me.
Over the past several thousand years, superstition and religion have retarded the development of humanity and science. I can only imagine the magnificence of what we could be if religion hadn't got in the way of our natural development. Hitch stood up and did what he could to make us realise this. I was born an atheist... We are ALL born atheists! It beggars my mind that people still believe that bronze-age, supernatural nonsense.
@thejago55 : Wikipedia: Hitchens has written of his homosexual experiences when in boarding school in his memoir, "Hitch-22." These experiences continued in his college years when he allegedly had relationships with two men who eventually became a part of the Thatcher government.
He did his most poetic debates after being diagnosed. It's odd to say but the lack of equipoise from short changing one candle to burn the other brighter elevated his ability to think, feel and reason through the truly important questions. I hope he experienced his death with eyes open as he wanted - just one more experience before it's all over.
The music you chose, by the way, is touching and beautiful. Thank you for channel.

BTW, if you ever meet a christian who claims he was a satanist before he was saved, just slide the name "Anton LeVay" into the conversation and see if you get a raised eyebrow or just some slight sign that said christian even knows who he was (full of childish shit as he was). Please let me know if you can find one.
Life's but a walking shadow, a poor player who struts and frets his hour upon the stage and then is heard no more. It is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury signifying nothing.
I can't express how much I would like to meet Shakespeare. I haven't been to the theater as much as I'd like, but I've seen all 37 plays, many versions of most - up to Hamlet, Othello and Macbeth: I've seen 10+ versions of each. But there's nothing on earth that could convince me that I was going to meet Shakespeare after I died just because I like and admire him so much. And I'm not like one of these lame Christians who claims to be an ex-satanist just to big-up their opinion. It's all true.

We love you brother. Thank you so much for being who you were. You are among the world's greatest orators. Every time you spoke, you eloquently delivered captivating brilliance which impacted everyone fortunate enough to hear. Your inspirational words will continue to positively effect people's lives for ages to come. Live on through us.
This is amazing and sums the great man up very well. Thank you for this. Today is a sad day. The world never fully recovers from losing minds like his. A piece of the world has died with him.
I am saddened we will never see these types of moments again, but happy and thankful that we had them in the first place. Rest in Peace, and we will continue the fight you have led so bravely from the front lines.

Thanks Hitchens, wouldn't be an atheist if it weren't for you. I shed a tear when I heard the regrettable news.
