I checked the Official Rules and found this statement in #10:

Michael Tilson Thomas will score each Finalists Entry based on the Criteria and may in his sole discretion use the results of the YouTube user Thumbs Up vote as part of determining the final score per Finalist Entry.

So, while I may have had an advantage on YouTube votes, MTT chose the winners based on who he thought would be the best candidates. Again, sorry to hear you weren't selected, and best of luck to you on flute!

Thank you! I learned this piece several years ago, then decided to practice it up one week before posting a video. Took me a good solid hour every day to resurrect it, and while there were several things I probably could've done better, I think the video is a fair representation of how I typically perform.

hey do you know if people voting have to be registered users? cause i know people who aren't registered and it worked the same for them as for those who are registered......

Good question, and one that I don't have an answer for, unfortunately! Maybe we should contact YTSO's channel and ask. The only data they could really collect from non-registered users is their IP address, which can easily be spoofed by bots, so I'm not sure what the deal is. Seems strange that there's no feedback like, "Thanks for your vote!" or "You need to be registered to vote", etc.

That's what i found strange too. I checked their FAQ, but that didn't seem to clear anything up. I also messaged them, but no reply so far. I agree it seems strange that after people vote there is no confirmation or anything....
