Hans Zimmer and Mark Mothersbaugh should collaborate someday... the two strangest composers in all of cinema. Hans with his unconventional acoustic/electric creations and Mark with his circuit bent Devo stuff. XD
Yea 1:58 to 2:03, that's never been done before, except maybe by a little known Arranger/producer by name of George Martin...ring a bell? Sgt Pepper LP "A Day in the Life" Maybe you were absent from memory retention that year, or just never listened to the classics, or maybe you just want to take credit for something you nipped. Don't feel bad Jimmy Webb did the same thing with MacArthur Park. lol
I just love the fact that americans must be so butt hurt that he's not from the US. If he was a random german guy, they'd call him "nazi!" - Now, they pay respect to him. Keep doing that US, keep showing respect.
@grumpyzrp I called them butt-hurt, which is very true? Also mentioned that they pay respect - And that they should keep doing it. You can't win, son. Sorry but you messed up :)
@aztaclalz I was referring to this - "if he was a random german guy, they'd call him "nazi!" they: meaning Americans. Your generalizing all Americans of being idiots. I would say you're the lesser minded one
@grumpyzrp Absolutely not - That's the case and it has been proven lot's of times. I am willing to say that all people from the US aren't redneck beaten slobs however. I'll give you that. Hehe ;)
@aztaclalz Visit the states one day and you shall see. Try to avoid the south, a lot of people don't even know where Europe is. lol You have to understand how big the US is before you can really make a statement. People in European countries tend to learn about the whole of europe in school, maybe even asia. Americans on the other hand, tend to learn about the US and surrounding countries. For reasons unknown, we don't really learn too much about Europe or Asia. I'm talking about grade school
@grumpyzrp well one of the reasons is that all the countries in europe are about the same size, maybe a little smaller, than the american continent. so in a sense, we're learning the same amount of material.
@grumpyzrp Wow, you are extremely ignorant about "the south." I would suggest learning a bit more about your own country before worrying about Americans' knowledge of foreign countries.
@beatle4fan I used to live in the South, and I moved recently to the UK. The common response was: "is the UK in Europe?" "Where is the UK on a map?" "What does the UK stand for?" "You're moving to London??.... I have lived in 5 different states so I know a bit.
What a beast lol. Still think madagascar is one of his best works. Amazing the way he managed to capture the essence of the movie whist incorporating characteristics of african music
this all sounds verrrrrry similar. all of a high standard of musicianship of course - but he recycles a LOTTTTT in terms of scoring. give me morricone, mancini, williams any day, for stirring the emotions. hans can leave you cold
A great composer indeed. I loved what he did on "The Peacemaker". He can thank the masters, Igor Stravinsky, Bernard Herrmann and Jerry Goldsmith among a few for his abilities.
I would love to be part of that orchestra..those lucky musicians, talk about an opportunity of a lifetime

How does one get to sit where the musicians are sitting? Are they freelance, or part of some company?

@ExhaustedPenguin That was not part of the composition. It's a glissando cluster, a well known tool of composers.
