Do you have a guide or ref for popping the case? The top rail on mine is pretty stiff, and I'm thinking I've missed removing a screw somewhere. I got all the black screws on the left side.
@xaminmo no I don't have a guide and yes there are two REALLY small (need a precision set) screws by the dome.. those are the hardest to remove! When I mean hard.. I use those precision screw drivers with a pair of pliers to get the torque required to rotate.
@BIMBOCOWBOYS if you can find them.. They are officially out of production. I doubt any additional runs will happen. But yes, they all work together, if a HOSTED game, then 24 is the limit, if unhosted (not scored at end), then any number can be used... even over 100 taggers!
@bjornwitteman from all what I can tell, the LTX is no longer in production from Hasbro. I doubt Hasbro will ever make another production run of these units. They did make a very limited / small run this year, but to satisfy some request from a few big retailers. But they are already focused on the next model which will be backwards compatible with both LTX and older LTTO (Lazer Tag Team Ops) series. Compatibility is an important point to the developers at Shoot The Moon.
@bjornwitteman Dont really understand why someone would care to do this.. but yes they are available, bought mine at toys r us a few days ago. On sale for $52.00
@MondayWithDrew Sorry, been busy with a few things. I don't have the mod on how to swap the two buttons. If you have ever monkey'ed with hacking stuff before, this one isn't that hard. I know that another person did the mod (without the capacitor) and it works fine. Just swapping the wires from the switches is all that is needed. Taking apart and putting back together requires a little talent tho.
@frankypinball Getting LTX taggers will be hard however there seems to be a small increase in LTX's showing up at stores like Toys'R'Us and other outlets. The modification itself isn't that hard, but not for beginners. If you have opened and done small fixes (replacing a switch) and close other things before, you probably could do this mod.
I agree with the locking mechanism, but the shield/reload mod is clearly unfair. Though it certainly doesn't take much time to reload with the normal setup, the fact that you can do it in one button whereas another player requires a button and the cartridge gives you a seriously unfair advantage.
It's perfectly fine if everyone has the mod, however.
@Zouflain well.. kinda of.. the LTTO does same thing, can hold the shields on the LTTO series and reloading on it is a simple button that clicks on Deluxe (reloads as fast as the reload button mod I did here on LTX)
I don't understand the question... You can use this gear indoor or outdoor, for personal or commercial applications if you want. If you are having problems with stealing that would be outside any Mod here (aside from something akin to an RFID or security tag on the device and security scanners at perimeter -- assuming indoor where this would work best).
this thing pwns, your a genius, guys like you need to get together and make other add-ons for the ltx, like a sniper attachment that goes on the same way the shotblast does, is that not a good idea or whwat?
I have information on the power lock-out mod (see my video "LTX Power lock-out" and the URL there). As for the reload/shield mod, it's pretty simple to do (swapping wires) and I know Greg Gaub also just did the mode so I expect him to post photos on his website soon.
Yes and no. Actually credit should go to the guy who asked the question, then I answered, then Flux fleshed it and, and then you made it reality, so who should really get credit. Take it and run with it!!

@votrienan97 you need older LTTO gear at the moment.

what if someone made a laser tag arcade using this mod so no one can't steal the gun?

Somebody would have thought it up. I just was first to get it done. Some skill required so not super easy... but not that hard either.
