  • Im getting this mac just for after effects! <3 Im saving, up one years worth of money from my Job! Cant WAIT!.

  • @A7FO for after effects!!!??? thats for windows too! - do yourself a favor, save $200 AND build a windows machine that will STILL be more powerful than a mac pro

  • Why did you waste 5k on that piece of shit and 2 its is not hard at all to install ram

  • Comment removed

  • It looks like the Death Star.

  • For that price i buy a mustang fuck this shit

  • Thumbs up if you think PC is ass!!!! I have a PC. Shit started slowing down after a year!!!!!

  • @christianharris936 Don't know how to maintain your shit, huh? Well that's ok. I guess what I mean is that Mac's don't have much of crap programs to install, but with PC it comes with the territory of being very customizable and cheap. Limit your programs, apps, cookies, and trash. Routine Maintenance is the Key

  • Just build your own pc, more value for money, and if you like MacOS, just buy it separately, since it runs on Intel/AMD architecture. (I have Windows and Linux)

  • Here is what I think. Although Windows machines are at much better value than mac, you are pay for os x. And although people say you could go with a Hackintosh, it doesn't have the stability that people are looking for inside a mac.

So it matters what you prefer. os x or windows. And that's just a personal choice.

    Bye

  • @Nadrealis

Seriously, you need to chill dude. I have had many many windows machines and a few macs, and to be quite honest, I think that OSX is a better OS. I'm not putting windows down, I love windows 7 just as much as I love OSX, my current windows machine has only crashed once, that was because my idiot friend unplugged the CPU fan from my mobo. My Mac has only crashed once also, because that same idiot friend deleted applefan.kext which made it so the fans would never turn on. You are also

  • Memory Sticks AKA Ram

  • omg it looks like 2 different states of history with does cube comps in the back

  • I like the pieces of shit in the back.

  • @Nickry1 most people who say that is because they can't afford a mac. I used to have windows and i also tought windows was a lot better that mac but now that i switched to mac i see that macs work a lot faster and theyre more stable. And without viruses.

  • @pauta101 Not really about affording.. people have different preferences. There are "PC's" this expensive as well.

  • @Kingddd333 those PCs will give you more for your money.

  • @CWScott24 Exactly.

  • macs are for retards that dont know how to use a computer

  • @Nickry1 did you buy your brain at a good will

  • @FlareOfDawn

You know you can install windows on a Mac and have both apple OS and windows running at once. So you can play PC games on a Mac. I've done it.

  • MAc is shit ... i just sold my macbook to get a windows pc again .... and the system windows is SO INCREDIBLE MUCH better than mac ... it even amazed myself

You have SO much more oportunities

  • @1Drummer88 state them please.

  • @SonyLiteR Anything that runs .exe. Which is 99% of applications. Get the fuck off the shitty mac bandwagon, it's fucking awfully smelly, willfully ignorant, and pompous over there.

  • I have a question: On the windows and Linux markets, is there anything similar in power and performance to this Mac Pro. It seems like a truly sophisticated machine, besides "gamers" and 3d designers, where else do they find actual use?

  • If you assemble exactly same hardware which include mac pro like cabinet (didn't found even half similar though) it came out that difference is just around 200$. For one who is spending 2000$ already would probably won't mind spending few extra dollors to get mac pro. Gaming, Editing or anything you want from high-end computer Mac Pro got all (Bootcamp for windows gamers).

  • @kickassdj LOL... so buy a Mac Pro so you can play windows on it...as long as you buy bootcamp and buy windows.. fucking fail. If you want to play games and well...do anything productive, build your own goddamn PC that will run 30x faster than any fucking Mac on the market.

  • @Nadrealis yea , windows on it along with MAC which PC can't do it right. Mac comes with bootcamp (free) + you will buy windows anyways OEM version or DVD. I got high end PC already, I know the PAIN of BLUE SCREEN so don't tell me 30x faster and rubbish, its just for those gamers who don't care if there system crash randomly (often), for those who want to do there editing work on mac and play game as well on windows or use other imp windows app, mac pro wins.

  • @kickassdj No. You're a moron. I built my computer about a year ago and it has not crashed ONCE. NOT ONE TIME. My mac however...it crashes VEEEEEEERY often. It has OVERHEATING ISSUES. I watch youtube vids and it heats up to over 70 C. My mac deleted it's own hard drive before and I had to take it to the mac store to get it replaced (losing all my data.)

Let's get one thing straight, my PC is WAY better than that mac pro, better CPU, more (and faster) RAM, faster HDD, a 80 gb SSD, and it's cheap

  • @Nadrealis I never had any overheating issue on mac pro, I know there was bug before which was fixed, other than on my PC I know I had to install v80 in order to cool my system. But keeping that aside, PC crashes randomly no matter what kind of work we are doing. Even while watching videos on youtube it crashes, working on spreedsheet it crashes, those who face blue screen of death knows what I m talking about. My pc reach 90C even after having good cooling system.

  • @kickassdj I can take a picture with my phone and show you how bad my mac overheats due to 720p YOUTUBE videos. Why would we keep that aside? Isn't that the point of the conversation? Why would we keep a point that YOU make AGAINST your own point of view AWAY from the conversation? Are you dumb? Also no, PC's do not "crash randomly" they are errors in your CPU. It can happen on Macs OR PC's. They are natural errors that occur in faulty CPU's or CPU's that have been overheated. BSOD is an

  • @Nadrealis TIME machine do keep system backup, I had to clear my HD once on mac and it does restore them when i reinstalled mac os. I don't know what kind of backup you are talking about. In windows you don't have anything near like time machine, if by mistake you edited important file and lost your data, you can't get it back that easily in any window solution like you can in time machine.

  • @Nadrealis I said to keep that aside because that issue is resolved, just go to any mac service center and they will help you out. As I said, it was one bug as I am aware of. Unlike PC where I have no place to go to, unless I buy HP high-end PC which cost approx same.

  • @kickassdj Nope, wrong. Mac said they could do nothing about my overheating problem because it was a flaw within the design itself. So what was the point of me buying my applecare protection if they won't cover damage of something they are at fault at? HMMMMM. Also, lol. Why the fuck would you buy ANY HP computer? I only buy parts and build it myself. No wonder you go to Mac... you don't even know how to use a fucking computer.

Also, you probably were overheating your PC because you didn't

  • @Nadrealis i don't know how to assemble, hardware engineer did that. I m web dev who also edit vids & play games. This is the problem for me, I need better support when thing goes wrong. Apple does hove er covers most compared to PC techie cost or hp or other good pc vendor could provide. For me apple suits me best so I m not going back to virus crash capital - windows again

  • @kickassdj It's like a puzzle, pieces only go in certain places in certain ways. It's very hard to mess up. Spend 15 minutes learning how to build a computer then realize how much you've been ripped off by shitty companies like Apple, HP, Compaq, Dell etc., Building your own computer is the ONLY viable and cost effective solution.

Sure you get 8 gb of ram on a Mac... but what's the speed and timings on it. What's the CAS latency. Sure you get 1 tb of storage.. what's the speed and error chance

  • @Nadrealis I had my first taste of mac with macmini 3 year back, I use to have hp laptop and assembled PC. I am PC guy since 12 years, all my windows system use to crash, hang and get affected by virus a lot. Vista was reason I chose to try mac mini. After using it time to time I get familiar with that and find it more intuitive then windows and time saving, then I replaced my hp laptop with macbook white (last year) and finally this year I replaced my high-end PC.

  • @kickassdj chance on the HDD. Sure you get 2 CPU's on your motherboard, but does it support huge overclocking, are the CPU cores unlocked, what are the clock speeds, why are they using server grade CPU's for their desktops? There are so many problems with buying a PC that I'd rather not have a computer than have to buy one from a vendor premade. Apple sucks, HP sucks. MAC OS X sucks, Windows DOES NOT SUCK.

  • @Nadrealis I am aware that server grade CPU are tested for better up-time, more dependable and stable. Mac Pro is server grade CPU. With windows one needs to have better anti-virus and registry fixer, with Mac OS I don't need that + having unix at its core I am getting familiar with linux(unix like) as most server os are linux based + if you are dev app for iOS you need mac os anyways. I experience lot of time saving with mac compared to windows.

  • @kickassdj apply the thermal paste correctly, wasn't good ventilation, not enough space for exhaust and intake to work well. There's probably PLENTY of reasons why you weren't cooling your system well enough, and if I were to guess, it'd be all of the above. You're terrible at computers. My computer has never frozen up, BSOD, or shut down on me. L2COMPUTER

  • @kickassdj overheating issue. You obviously didn't have a "good cooling system" if it wasn't cooling your CPU or PC well. However, that's obvious. Also, yes you can backup ALL of your files in your system even if one or more of your HDD's fails. Time Machine DOES NOT BACKUP FILES IF YOUR HDD DIES LIKE MINE DID. HOWEVER, WITH A WINDOWS BASED PC You can backup files automatically with RAID 1. Which you can setup in the BIOS (if you mactards know how to get to it lol.)

  • @Nadrealis what make matter worst is I can't even have my system replaced in case of damage due to this. Mac offer me better backup support with TIME MACHINE which I know would save my important files, so even if in your case if my HD got replaced i know I have my all files back. While on PC, I don't get that support, its not even that cheap so I buy another one with exactly same configuration.

  • @kickassdj Also, if you build an entire computer just because of a faulty CPU or HDD you're a fucking moron who doesn't deserve to have a computer in the first place.

  • @Nadrealis I brought mac pro just because I had BLUE SCREEN, VIRUS and other windows related problem after many years on different PCs. Not due to faulty HD or RAM, there are various reasons for windows to crash often. And about overheating, I have Coller Master v8 on cpu and 6 120mm fans and CM 690 II cabinet, good graphic card with big fan. Room temp is around 24-28C. What else?

  • @TheAnimeLover569 yea your not saying mac is bad, your saying that pc is better... and mac isnt for games dip shit its for scientific work and things like that where all the memory and and hard drives are needed.... it might be a little expensive but you definitely get what you pay for

  • @applerules100 Agree.

  • @applerules100 What fucking scientist uses Macs. Tell me. Fucking name ONE. Oh guess what, all banks use windows to crunch and store their data. OOPS FAIL. The world runs on windows moron.

  • Go to the Apple site and check every box when ordering one of these, it comes to $20,579.90!! it's interesting to see Apple's inflated prices on things like hard drives and memory.

  • When you customize a mac, don't add ram. There are places where you can get 4gigs of ram for 95, instead of apples ridiculous 200.

  • @mrfweeter Yeah I mean you gotta think smart lol.

  • @TheAnimeLover569 Men u are right but i prefer sped a few more dollars and forget about viruses and spyware problems, which is a very good thing if u r a gamer.

  • @TheAnimeLover569

people like you have to remember that matchiong the perfomance is not te same a matcking the computer, a Xeon is way more expensive than a Core 2, also mac pro's se EEC memory,

  • im getting one in a month

  • Agree there, but dont forget , even a mac with way way lower specs is 10x as fast,

I have an ibook g3 with only 800 Mhz, and 384 MBs of ram, running tiger

and its way faster than my 2.13 intel core 2 duo, 1 gb ram windows laptop, runnign vista/

    Mac FTW

    James

  • Nicee, Love the Mac Pro!!

    James

  • The Mac Pro Make an average PC Look like a paperweight with how much Power Monstrosity has.

  • agree mac is a bit overpriced

  • @eckstudios

no it uses EEC ram and Xeon prosesors, not cheep

  • i have that same laptop, they are great. just i would rather a mac. But i love PC's too

  • Macs are hella better than PC's , if you dont like Mac's, why are you watching the fucking video?

  • lol

  • macs are worth more then there actual tag. just saying what every mac owner already knows.

  • I agree. Windows and its PC nerds just make quick bullshit that is worthless and overpriced. Mac beats windows in every way.

  • however; there's more to life than gaming and porn...but not much

  • @Chritcha yes theres more to life (socially) then porn, but gaming? come on? you gotta love that... the only thing i say is better then gaming is parkour! (and ppl i care about)... but thats it lolz...

  • @Chritcha

    :D

  • @Chritcha Cat video's?

  • @redtail5 there's special computers for gaming... XP

  • @redtail5 well i watch porn more then i do online gaming so i would need a mac pro for my convenience.

  • @redtail5 once people realize they can get un-lazy and instal windows on there mac and play games the mac will own...

  • to get the same specs a mac will cost you way more. You can only upgrade mac pros to the point of say an alien ware so its more like when people stop understanding the value of there dollar mac will own...

  • an alienware laptop or desktop can easily beat any mac if you check the specs. also the price is still lower which is sad XD

  • true that.

  • have windows beat this

  • If anyone reading this plans on buying a Mac Pro soon, wait. The new nehalem architecture based Xeons are coming out soon, and if the desktop Core i7 (also nehalem based) are any indication, the new mac pro will blow this one out of the water.

  • Some one posted on youtube about i7 with 5.99 Gigs of ram scores 8,000 something while 8 core mac scores 17,000...

    your such a fucking idiot

  • Comment removed

  • um you're dumber than all of us you said "i dont see no screen" you're missing punctuation and its "I don't see a screen" not "i dont see no screen"

how can you type if you're that dumb?

  • LOLOLOL u deleted ur comments LOLOL

  • m still undecided on which to buy: this Mac Pro or the newly released HP Firebird. Last thanksgiving, m really decided to buy my IDEAL DESKTOP, but I ended up buying a laptop (the 13.3" MacBook over Sony Viao CS). -- THATS my 1st MAC btw -- I really like the specs of Mac Pro but I like more the game software in PC (that's d reason y I stiil want to buy desktop... FOR GAMING) ..any advise?

  • I cant believe how widely unknown it is that a mac can run Windows. you have the 8800 in it and you can run any game you want. Just boot into windows. IF you just want to play games, why do you want an 8 core system with up to 32 gigs of ram, only 4 gigs is needed and a quad at max. Although with the mac pro, you can run any software imaginable, while with a windows desktop, you are limited to windows and linux. up to you though.

  • @aceofkings98 I hope you are kidding.

  • hmm it's very expensive. im not a professional and i don't make hollywood quality movies. i'd rather buy an hd tv and build a gaming rig for that money imho

  • @deathgrindcheese

If its not for you than don't buy one. If gaming is what you are into get a gaming rig.

The pros will stick with Macs.

  • =)i wasnt gonnay buy one, i just felt that this computer was pushed towards wrong audience(me). lol i saw you commenting almost everybody on this vid so i assume that you really like apple=) btw wtf is the dvd drive an ide one XD?

  • Care to explain how this computer was pushed towards you.

  • I will be getting one of these

  • When are you getting yours?

I'm getting mine March or April 2009, I can't wait!

  • same :) I'm savin' like a crack addict

  • Very expensive.

  • Look, if you want performance, you don't look for a mac. Just looking the website here and wow, 32gb of memory? Obviosly just to impress people with number cuz its only running at 800mhz. 4TB of HD? but how fast? And oooo 8 cores! but wait, they're server CPUs. Not to mention the zero airflow in that case. So all that for (WTFing Shit!) $19,000! (without monitor and accesories). Give me $3,500 and I'll build a pc twice as fast guarenteed. But hey, at least with a mac you get free shipping!

  • You are full of shit.

  • no, im not. I will be doing a video series on my pc when I get the money to buy everying (expect it during late first quarter 2009). And if its the mac stats I said that ur not believing then just look for yourself at the mac store web site.

  • "Look, if you want performance, you don't look for a mac"

Actually most professionals do look to the Mac for performance.

What you are talking about is gaming performance. Am I wrong here?

"4TB of HD? but how fast?"

Well you can raid two 300 GB 15,000 rpm drives together in the Mac Pro and I'm sure its plenty fast. And you can still have two more 1TB drives.

The air flow issue has been covered many times before and the Mac pro stays plenty cool.

  • Well you can raid two 300 GB 15,000 rpm drives together in the Mac Pro and I'm sure its plenty fast. -dragonballz

Yes true and PC's have the same option. The removable drive bays for Hard drives is nothing new. I've used external removal hard drives as just an easy way to change out different OS's.

  • ok ture you can have fast HDs, but you are still using xeons and an 800mhz computer. Listen, could you imagine what kind of PC you could get for $20,000? (or 10 for that matter) You could have a TB of solid states! Hell you could get skulltrail with two qx9775 for christ sakes. Try 8 gigs of the fastest ram on earth, and a huge water block, Dude you would be running a friggan 2100hmz bridge! Try that on a mac.

  • oh yeah and with a couple 4870x2s, not only would gaming be insane but you would be able to transcode blazing fast. Gamers arent the only ones who use high performance pcs. Try graphic designers, animaters, physics simulators, the video industry ect. Macs are easy to use and own. Macs are probably the worst performance value on the market.

  • Really? I have over 80 apps installed right now. I can open up all of them at once and still have over 900 mb of RAM free. Can your PC do that without locking up?

If so, I would really like to see it.

  • yes

  • And then what? Stick Vista on it and fuck up the whole thing? All for what, a few extra FPS in the latest game?

8 gigs of RAM you say....try 32 in the Mac. Also you forget that OSX does not need even half what Vista needs to run.

  • omg ur stupid, have fun with 9grand worth of slow ram you will never use. Man this is like arguing with a brick. I'll just stop trying to talk sense into you guys now.

  • I don't buy my RAM from apple, so it would not be 9 grand. People do use that much if they are into video and 3D. Its not meant for playing games. With a maxed out Mac Pro you could run the Adobe suite plus final cut and 3DS Max with pretty much no slow down. These are things that would kill your game box.

I have been a computer technician about as long as you have been alive. I have also built more computers than you have ever seen. Grow up, learn something, Then come back and debate.

  • My mom just bought me one of these w/ a 30" Apple Cinema Display!!

  • might be so. But they are still pcs not running OS X. Having been stuck with XP and Vista for 4 years at work I can not wait to get in my new Mac Pro

  • well said ibookster.

  • 2TB? I believe you are mistaken and actually it can hold up to 4 just thought i would let you know

  • Thats the 2006 model so he's right, at that time it could only hold 2TB.

  • nice quick summary, good video!
