@tillyireland A few of the verses were new to me too. I first learned a version of this song when at a folk festival in Dublin as a teenager when I was a dancer rather than a singer. It was sung on the coach that took us round and when I got home to the island again, I wrote it down in a notebook which I still have today, though it was about 4 years later before I learned to play the guitar and was able to sing it with my own accompaniment.
Found it

very well done sir
i'd not known all the verses
for that i thank you
this is among my family's favorite across generations
and also the song that was asked and denied to be played
at my uncles funeral
how petty was that
i saved this so i can play anytime
again thanks and god bless
