  • That was the old days when Schmeichel was chipped twice in as many games. No wonder comics in papers pictured Sir Alex banning Schmeichel from having fish n chips~

  • at first it didnt look like Le God But Then I Noticed The True Skill! Then I Knew It Was Le God!!!

  • Great player shame he wasted his career away at a scummy little club like Southampton

  • @mcpwns It's called loyalty.

  • '"I'll tell you who I used to love watching", says Xavi Barcelona's prodigious midfielder "Matt Le Tissier. He played for Southampton as small club with a small stadium. But he would never leave. He wasn't like a typical English player and he would have done well in Spain. He had offers all the time to leave but he stayed where his heart is.

  • great times.. but he was wasted at southampton.. Ive always said that. I saw this live and at the time i was waqtching another channel, might have been sky cant remember but it wasnt this commentry.. I could watch any game back in the day from the premiership.. every game was balanced with 2 or 3 extreme players.. now.. pffff.

  • Matt Le Tissier: 8 england caps

    Emile Heskey: 62 england caps

and that, my friends, is why we never win anything.

  • @555hugs heskey is BEAST!

  • @555hugs no it's because england are not good enough

  • This goal turns me on

My all time favourite player the man was a genius

  • I'd 6-3 to be a Man U fan after this game.

    Am I doing it right?

  • "ooooo and he chips schmeichel"

  • Wasn't this the game where fergie blamed the kit clashing with the crowd?

  • @Gamer1867 No it wasn't. The kit clashing game happened the season before (95/96) where Southampton won 3-1, and this game is from the season after which finished 6-3.

  • fucking useless commentating

  • Is there a single colour Man United havent used for an away strip? Even their home strip should be green and yellow, and then they call themselves the red devils?!

And they wonder why everyone fucking hates em so much! lol

  • @moonsugar1 you hate us because were the best :P

  • @fludklat *cough* 6-1!! *cough* ;) lol

  • @moonsugar1 looooooooooool so that's 6-1 joke number 999

  • world's top goalie?? boy...

  • @MrDjc1970 by far?? Francesco Toldo, Kahn, Peruzzi, Van der Saar, Pagliuca, Roa...

Sorry, i forgot to name spaniards: Cañizares

  • Comment removed

  • @MrDjc1970 would i be watching a fucking le tissier video not liking premier league? btw, so funny to read an scottish (nice manners) talking about spanish league "only 2 clubs playing in it"...

i dnt fucking care who u support, i dnt give a shit, just named a few gk's clearly as good as schmeichel, and, when it comes to Toldo, Kahn and Van der Saar, way better than him...so i guess it's you the one who doesn't know about any other kind of football that the one you try to play on your island...

  • @unduir this is my era of football you stupid spanish cunt. 23yrs old says alot for you reading old media reports on a fucking shite goallie like Toldo. one thing about youtube is i can block who i like and you....dumb numpty that you are, are blocked now fuck off.

  • @MrDjc1970 you do exactly the same you criticize... now take a look at this shite goallie, maybe you britons haven't had such a goallie ever, so please, show respect and shut the fuck up

  • @MrDjc1970 This.. 1992-1998 is the best era for football by a longggggg way.

  • By far the best player of my childhood should have played so so much more for england

  • Comment removed

  • How can anyone dislike this clip?

  • As a United fan I really can't do anything else than applaud this finish. Even though it was against my favourite team, goals like this is one of the reasons why everybody loves football :)

  • take a bow son.matt le tissier = fucking genius.even better that he done that albino cunt schmichael

  • very good goal

  • he is the only guy who can do that to Schmeichel

  • Another talent that couldn't produce the goods with an England shirt on.

  • @Jimjam1212 Couldn't produce the goods? More like there was a fucking moron managing England which meant he was only played 8 times... One of the greatest players to have never played at a world cup. He had far more technical ability than most of the England players do today...

  • @pocketofgoodness As a Villa fan he was the bane of our lives and The Only player ever to make Paul McGrath look average twice. The ones who made McGrath look average once can be counted on one hand. LeTissier was a favourite of mine and all thinking fans, not the Sky/London Media elite who seemed to dislike him because he had a brain, was a one club man and wasn't bezaddled by London's bright lights. If Venables had half a brain he could have built a winning England team around him.

  • @rc2869 Completely agree, he was the first midfileder to 100 goals in the EPL and he stayed at Southampton his whole career when the likes of Chelsea were after him. It's a shame virtually all of todays players show no loyalty whatsoever and can be persuaded simply by money. I mean, he scored 48/49 penalties for god's sake!

  • @pocketofgoodness ...mind you Chelsea were arguably worse than Saints then!

  • Englands greatest player le tiss, but we have an incompetant poster boy led FA the same fa who lost out on cloughy as gaffer - think about it gazza + le tissier in the middle for italia 90 it would of been ours

  • Wooow! Splendid! Very skilful player! Look at how he dribbles and strikes easily with super technics! That's fabulous! However he was not known as world super player..

  • @kammoul1 ...who cares? he was famous in England

  • @kammoul1 ...who cares? he was famous in England. Besides Xavi said he was his childhood hero, depends how well you know football I suppose

  • @jackjude xavi was watching those tapes and he learned well

  • The commentator sucks! Where is Motty?

  • @notat22 - this sounds like Alan Partridge - "That .....was a goal"

  • legend versus legend

  • Unfortunately not as recognised as he should be. His goals were amazing, purely because he makes it look so easy, as if he is in a training session.

  • what a passionless cunt of a commentator..this isn't the british open at royal st. george..this is football!!!!!!!

  • this chip shot must be read by football clubs.

  • The Greatest Saints player ever. His two in one game against Newcastle were Sky Sports 1 and 2 goals of the season. Pure Legend.

  • commentator is shite

  • @adammm1 You're absolutely right man. Had it been Ronaldo, he would have showered him with compliments.

  • Southampton is a city of grey flats.

  • Shame a lot of people that live in Hampshire support Manchester United instead of Southampton. what a bunch of gloryhunters!!!!

  • whoever disliked this is a horrible cunt !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @TheBroilator Or to put it another way, a Man U or Pompey fan

  • One of the best goals i ever saw, underrated player or what?

  • One of the most sublime goals ever matched with possibly the most boring commentary ever... both unbelievable. Hoddle I'll never forgive you.

  • HOW RUBBISH IS THE COMMENTATOR!?!?!?!!!? LOL!

  • Big Nose! He's got a fucking big nose... IRONS !!

  • Always nice to see goals go past schmeiche :)l

  • @steveN111333 Only cos not many shots did!

  • Peak of football skill

  • *Quite

  • and THAT...was the most...UNBELIEVABLEY crap commentary...that i have ever had to witness

  • Schmeichel cool forever

  • Thanks for keeping the commentary, and not dubbing over with some crap emo music. Man, I *hate* that about football videos.

  • @IDOLO5 I agree re. the music except I think it's usually crap dance music - emo music I can live with!

  • I played footie with Matt when he was around 6 years old. He ran rings around us older kids even then. We all saw he was gifted right back in those early days.

  • lmfao commentator

  • Is that a MotD commentator?, weedy passionless voice doesn't do justice to this great goal. Those away kits United used to wear were a joke.

  • Possibly the finest midfielder to ever grace the Premier League fuk Cantona Le Tissier at his best was much better.

  • The Dell is opposite my school

  • First match I ever went to... I still have never seen saints lose, maybe I should go and watch them more often. COYR

  • why oh why didn't he play more games for england. oh wait we hate using skilful, creative players, that's why

  • Sir Le Tiss, The man was a genius. I agree with the comment about Kinkladze as well, genius surrounded by a bunch of clowns. Its pretty sad that they will never get the recognition they truly deserve.

  • Looks even more beautiful because its against man utd

  • This is like Cantona's famous lob :)

  • One an awful commentator

  • "against two of the top defenders in the country?" and he mentions David May...HAHAHAHAHA

  • LeTissier was a reason to watch football. His goals were masterpieces. He really proved that a ball can go through a defender's body.Nothing was impossible for LeTiss, and he was outrageously underrated. I'm not a Saints' fan, but I appreciate masters of football.

  • the people who disliked don't like football.

  • 20 assholes dislike this goal! LOL 20 assholes don't know what is real football :)

  • sick goal from a quality player! thumbs up if you agree!!

  • How this fat pie munching twat possessed so much skill has always amazed me.....

  • That's not a lob, that's a chip! Lobs are when the ball is bouncing. Always pisses me off that,

  • one of the most technically gifted englishmen with a football... that's why he won all of 8 caps. paul scholes, retires from international football at 29, joe cole - forever condemned to the wing... jack wilshere not being allowed over the half way line. and endless cycle of wasted talent for the sake of power and 'passion'

    shame

  • What an amazing goal and the commentator nearly falls asleep!??

  • Comment removed

  • @crashitman ...watching with your eyes closed and sound down??

  • Simple fact Matt Le Tissier was the most underrated english footballer ever

  • it's not a lob. it's a chip.

  • A very gifted and natural player....A Saint X

  • No wonder he allways cheers whenever Saints score on Gillette Soccer Saturday! SAINTS RUUUUULE!

  • theres only 1 team in hampshire and that is SOUTHAMPTON FC

  • @Rlambert7 woking fc mate

  • thumbs up if you agree le tiss was simply the best player there HAS ever been in any era pele best maradonna all good but not in le tissiers league my 2nd fave was kinkladze when he was at city the only one who could get any where near SIR matt's level with a ball running at defenders with pace kinky was awesome and i don't support city or saints im liverpool bruv

  • @DAJAZDJ1 u sir are a legend! im southampton, and that coming from another team is like music to my ears

  • @MrKieranfeeney LE TISS IS BY FAR MY ALL TIME FAVORITE PLAYER AND I TRY TO MODEL MY SELF ON HIM COS IM SKILFUL ON THE BALL AND SCORED A FEW GOALS LIKE HIM BUT HAVE NO PACE LIKE HIM

  • @DAJAZDJ1 Better than Pele and Maradonna? Fuck off.

  • @alwayswinit4real easyily

  • @DAJAZDJ1

Better than the two greatest player as voted by fans, players and managers..... As well as players like di Stefano, Zico, Zidan, Beckenbauer, Cruyff and Puskas. Quiet honestly put..... You clearly know very little about football. Btw It dosent matter who you support if you are bi-est to the premier league.

  • @DAJAZDJ1 kinkladze was the don

  • 19 skates dont like this, idiots.

  • if England have him in the team

They should win world cup for millions time

    LOL

  • WTF is wrong with the camera angle? xD

  • It seems like so long ago I was sat in that stand behind the goal with my father and my brother! We always used to hang on in the Premiership by the skin of our teeth! 6-3 and 4-1 scores against Manchester United. The famous 6-3 when they blamed the shirts and we sung, "always look on the bright side of life"! never forget it!

  • @ChristopherAdderley Not sure you are a fan, actually. The one where United blamed the grey shirts was the 3-1 Southampton win the following season. United, 3-0 down at half time, changed to the blue and white and won the 2nd half 1-0.

  • @plyydjrb I've got my memory confused then.. I assure you I was at the game. Felt like so long ago..

  • Eric Cantona did a similar chip, turned & pretty much said "how's that?".

Le Tissier has the same here but where is the praise?

  • @FevDuo I was about to say the same thing! Le Tisser, along with Hoddle and Gazza, was the most naturally gifted English footballers I ever seen. Grace, class, imagination. He got it all. Not to mention a superb technique. Look at the England "Golden Boy" today Wayne Rooney, people say he's "world class". yet anyone ever seen Rooney scored a goal like that?

  • @IIIL47v What about Paul Scholes?

  • @IIIL47v Rooney's goal against portsmouth was a world-class chip.

  • @IIIL47v have u seen Le Tissier scoring a goal like ronney did againt city? u cant compare one with the other...different styles of play at different eras... the game has changed so much id doubt any of them would keep up with the pace of the modern game but are never the less still great players in their time. so stop trying to make any player look better then he is by bad mouthing another its just childish

  • From Portugal..That was one of the best i saw..Completly underrated

  • Man a great guy, I have those goals in my field! I stroke them everyday, the missus wont pole dance for me on them though, women eh?

  • you can tell the commentator loved United

  • Hooligan ur an idiot, y u lookin at vids of le god if u hate him n us so much, maybe its caus pompey dont have any decent ones!!!Stick that in ur pipe n smoke it!!

    Le God an absolute legend!!

  • @TheCharlieAnna

Legend? More like reject that couldn't even get in the England team.

  • @657hooligan You're possibly the most childish, foolish, ignorant, stupid, pathetic, useless, deplorable example of a human being i have ever had the misfortune of stumbling across. I hope you can grow up some time soon.

  • @treefiddy2

Hysterical, doesn't change the fact le shittier is a dirty scum cunt that never made the grade with England.

  • @657hooligan i think your scum more like

  • @657hooligan your team are shit Saints still the pride of the south.

  • @657hooligan he could of its just that he didnt want to

  • @treefiddy2 Ignore him, he just wants to get a reaction from people. Obvious troll is obvious.

  • sweet, I've found myself on YouTube - front row right behind Rudolph

  • Dont care about these vids Peter Schmeichel is better why should they write his name if he was a noob goal keeper

  • great goal

  • Hooligan stop taking shite....he's one of the best players to have graced the premiership..his shittest goals would have been some players spectacular goals!!

go n run with the 6.57 crew n get turned over by all the other small clubs in the 15th division..haha

  • @neh1

15th division, wow you really are witty and clever, what a retarded fence rattling paki you must be. I 4-1 would love to see you come round and visit me so I can treat you to a brick upside that thick and greasy head of yours. Runaway runaway runaway. It must be nice to be known as the fans that runaway by the whole country, utterly thick three fingered topi wearing spastics. Now get back in your smacked out bedsit and be quiet and don't forget to turn the light out. PUP PPU.

  • my dad broke his ankle celebratin 4 that goal! what a goal!

  • Was this before or after the Cantona lob. I was just wondering who did it first :)

  • le god

  • Schemichel ciullato clamorosamente

  • most acomplished defenders in the country? David may? is this guy on crack?

  • No doubt to it, Le Tissier was one of the greatest players of the 90's, well up there with Peter Beardsley and John Barnes and one of the best finishers the game has ever seen.

Shame he didn't really perform/get a chance to perform with England due to the prominence of other strikers such as Shearer, Sherringham and Ian Wright plus Andy Cole was dominating.

This commentator is rubbish though! Sounds like Moss from The IT Crowd :P.

  • Do excuse me,but The Dell stadium is still or has it been dejected?

  • @farfargy77 it was knocked down around 2000 when saints moved to st.mary's 32,500 capacity - more than double of the old dell

  • @flipjoberg Ok thank you.

  • him and phillipe albert med that stupid danish freak luk like a cunt lol

  • Matthew le tissier is the most under rated english footballer since ive been alive!!

8 england caps is terrible injustice

  • HA HA HA peter you cunt you got done..wanker.

  • Le Tiss= Legend

  • I was sat behind the goal that day in the old Milton Road stand, I remember the ball seemed to be going miles over, then dip at the last second, and the Whole Milton road went mad! Privileged to have watched one of the Premier leauges greatest eva players on a regular basis. What ever stupid Skate bastards say, even they know deep down that he had more talent in his little finger, than than the entire combination of skate teams of the last decade!! LE GOD we salute you

  • Matt le tissier is a great player he is a really nice bloke who was rejected by his own country. He didn't take the money u may never c 1 of them again :( a true hero

  • a true saint

  • Worst commentator ever?

  • He was a marvelous player ! One of the best I've ever seen in my life .

I really can't understand how England left him out of World Cups . These coaches don't know nothing about football .

    Best regards from Brazil .

  • One of the most under-rated footballers of the past 30 years. 8 England caps doesn't do him justice.

  • @calumstarkey agreed, maybe if he played for england they would have lost less shoot outs.

  • @pathaanx Haha, he should be our penalty coach! Get him and Lineker to show them how to bloody do it.

  • @calumstarkey imagine how many tournaments we could have won with him in an england shirt

  • @calumstarkey Could never understand why he never really got a good chance to play for England. I heard it was the coach who didn't like his floating but considering the lack of pure strikers, Lineker aside, you would have thought his place on the squad secure. He sent me a rosette and an autograph pic after I mentionned how outstanding I though he was to a visiting friend of his so I sent him a Hockey shirt of my home team......wonder if he ever got it.

  • @frenchycanada Bloody hell! I think the main reason he never got a real chance with England is because of his style. Managers were skeptical of a player who could do nothing for most of the game, then pop up with a great goal. These days, it's the norm (Rooney, Lampard, Gerrard, Ronaldo), but back then, they all wanted hard-workers. For an attacking midfielder to play like that is normal these days, but then, he was just thought of as lazy. It didn't help he was competing with Gazza though tbh.

  • @calumstarkey Thanks for the headsup......what you say makes a lot of sense. From watching Le Tissier play for England the few times I did, he never really seemed too comfortable. I sometimes think some players, maybe Matt, play their best when there're the 'go to' guy.....I know I played on stacked teams but never really hit my stride until I was 'the' guy. The coach's philosophy can make an impact too....good or bad.

  • @frenchycanada I completely agree. He was seen as the saviour for Saints. Goals, assists, just no work-rate haha. I think that's why the national team manager didn't come calling too often. Personally though, I rate him above Platt, Waddle, Merson... I think the best thing about Matt though, is that he always stayed true to Southampton. He had the chance to earn more money at Spurs, or play in Europe with Chelsea, or go for the title with Man Utd, but he just wanted to play football.

  • @calumstarkey fo real my all time fave player from any era or generation why did hoddle bid 15 million for him when he was chelsea manager which at the time would of smashed the transfer record by miles then hoddle hardly picked him at all for england le tiss was the greatest player to ever play this game

  • he was the dogs cunt sack

  • met him today :D

  • such impudent, nonchalant application of sublime skill...

  • smashing

  • I don't rate Le Tiss as a footballer, just as a hot piece of ass.

  • Thats the greatest 20 seconds ever recorded on youtube. Schmeichel grasping at thin air..........errr........."where did that go?" hahahaha.

Le Tissier " a freak of nature"

  • felix8989

YOU ARE GOING TO BE CUNTED IN THE BASTARD

    not long now:)

  • click on the phumbs up if u think le tissier is a legend!!!!

  • Dirty ugly inbred scum spastic cunts.

  • @657hooligan PAY UP POMPEY!!!!!!

  • @dazc160

Great isn't it? I love being the skintest team in the business.

  • awesome...didn't know him....only heard his name!!

  • mat has won fuck all

  • @ MrOldtrafford10 - he's won a legendary status, he's adored by any southampton fan, and admired by any one who's kicked a ball.

there's loads of player's who have won trophies, they mean fuck all when you came on as a sub in the 80th minute of the milk cup. very few players walk away from a career as respected as le tiss
