  • I've got the same book too! :P

  • Great job thanks im doing it right i have the same book :)

  • did u forget a note on 0:20?

  • JOHN MADDEN IS PLEASED

  • I gave to play this piece for a concert at my school. You did it great, but REMEMBER THE DYNAMICS!!! Slow-fast, soft-loud etc. My music teacher told me to double the piece, in other word play it 2 times, but the 2nd time i play it sould have more counts and changes etc. Pretty cool!

  • I'm a little confuesed with the answers, faster? or slower?

  • @cristinasplace

I would play it at your own speed, slow and accurate is way better than fast and sloppy.

The description at the top of the song (in Alfred Book) read 'Moderately slow', and since it is

a blues it should not be played fast. I would trust your own judgment.

  • at the end it should be over and over again

  • I Played That Song In A Recital A Year Ago, Now I'm Playing The Entertainer :P

Also, You Need To Play It Faster, And Hold The Whole And Half Notes Longer

  • You may want to slow down a bit, i can't hear the lilting very well

  • lol thanks man i'm more of a visual learner i got to perform this tomorrow for my class :/ it helped a lot to see where the fingers are on the keyboard haha

  • i've been stuck on tht piece fo a while and u really helped me! thanx!

  • you playing most of these songs way too stiff without any rythym. you skill in general is good. even though is 16th notes you dont have to be exact its the blues

  • Good Stuff....I love how you played it slow enough for those of us who are looking to Youtube to learn how to play this song. I absolutely love the position of your camera, nothing worse than trying to learn when people put the camera at the wrong angle. I'm about to start recording all of Alfred's Piano Course at a slow tempo and then in the same frame at the tempo it was meant. You might want to do the same, Your GREAT!!!

  • I'm going to add another thank you... I still suck at sight reading.

  • I have to be at a piano lesson in an hour and I have to play this! Im being taught with that book!

  • all my classmates are here...sooo cool

  • this song is so fun to play ^^

  • I think your supposed to play this one more faster.. that what my piano teacher said..

  • it soundsWAY better played super freakin fast.

  • you did great, but remember to follow the dynamics. =))

  • :) is there any video you can send me so i can see the correct dynamics? thanks

  • well I don't see any but I'll try and make one myself if I have the time. :)

  • @PianoNoobAlexMan Great job on fluency !! For dynamics, it's written on the music. it begins at forte (loud), then on 2nd line there is descrescendo (gradual decrease) to piano (soft). It stays piano until middle of 3rd line, when there is a crescendo to forte. It then stays at forte thru end. You retard nicely to the fermata (hold). I suggest playing the eighth notes with equal length, not syncopated dotted eighth to eighths. At this stage of learning, it is better to play notes as written :)

  • @hedwig85 Edition to my last note. i just saw the footnote (at bottom of music) suggesting to play eighth notes the way you did synchopated. That is an advanced jazz concept. I am very surprised the authors introduce it at this stage. A beginning student is still learning to play with standard timing. You have already learned beyond this stage (now at level four, I see. Nice job!! ) . I am making this suggestion to beginners.

  • asome

  • i have the same book haha

  • I've heard about 20 people now say, 'I have the same book' Its great! :P

  • yes, feels good to know there are so many friends out there doing the same book, classmates !!!!! :)

  • Good job, but the dynamics need alot of work.!

  • I have the book too for piano lessons, I'm on page 83 now. I have to admit that a lot of songs I really don't like lol =P but it'sthe basics offcourse. the duet book is really nice though! I play a lot of other songs like songs from muse or something, great job you're putting all of this on youtube though!

  • Do you get paid?:Þ

  • awesome job dude!!

  • I have that same book, wow what a coincidence. The basis of my piano playing came from that book.
