my laptop broke i took a used one with a slow processor didnt run smooth in 480p in full screen i put the one out of the broken one and now i can play fullscreen 1080p smoothly
@LegoCityShow no it dosent the only way u can increase it is getting a different ghz frequency processor of same thing as in u get a i5 processor 2500k at 3.3 ghz u their are more then one processor of the same processor i5 2400 2500 and but if u cant get a new one best thing to do is to overclock your cpu to do that you use your bios to change the frequency but you have to change the voltage to your cpu to match your new frequency but make sure u have enough power in ur psu and
@LegoCityShow make sure your motherboard can support it and psu means power supply look up videos to see if you find one that shows you how to overclock your specific cpu but if u or any 1 else that sees this is running a 2 core platinum cpu should move up everything from games to ram to hdd to motherboards are all running the 1st gen and 2nd gen intel i3,i5,i7 cpu and should upgrade because even nxt year a newer bunch of intel processors are comming out if ur got the 2 core platinum u gotta up
@imperialsoul thats why ram is called memory your memory is stored on your ram your cpu just process things on your computer with out a cpu your computer wouldnt even do anything because it dosent have something to keep it moveing along which is why a cpu is called a processor because it processes things along
Nice video, and all but I saw some of the comments and I am not sure if you need to apply the thermal paste or not so please tell me, and where can I get the thermal paste?
Also, I have a 6 year old Windows Xp Desktop computer, and I was wondering if I can upgrade to a new CPU without any problems. Thanks.
Do you have to do anything about static electricity? In some videos it says you have to wear something so you dont damage the CPU with your body... Or you dont have to do anything?
Remove Heatsink, Undo the retaining processor bar (Holding Processor in place), Usually located to one side of the processor. Remove processor and place in the COMPATABLE new processor (Its a ZIF socket, ZERO INPUT FORCE, it should just simple glide into place) Push down retaining bar, clean contacts on the heat sink and processor with VODKA or Rubin Alcahol, apply thermal paste, resit the heat sink and secure. Its plug and play but you dont want it to overheat...
Wow thats a realy old CPU haha i have one of them in my 1999 computer lol but they are actually some what still good what one is yours? My old computer has a Pentium 3 933MHz CPU.
they recommend it, i never do, but remember, the processors i am using in this video are not high speed, this particular processor is aprox 1GHz,, so if anything higher than that, especially brand new ones, i highly recommend it, it will help prevent overheating
hng on dont u loose ur warranty if u get a now processor for ur laptop ive got a warranty on my bought my compaq laptop 1 week ago and im looking to upgrade to amd sempron 2.70ghz atm i have amd sempron 2.10 if i replace it wit the 2.70ghz one wont it void my warranty or loose it ???
yes if your computer is under warranty, this will void that.... best to wait till warranty is up.. or if u really want, have Compaq upgrade it... but if you want to just go and do it, go ahead... HP never knew i installed more ram in my laptop while my warranty was still valid
I am currently experiencing some problems with my computer (I'm on a different computer at the moment). It's been giving me a Windows stop message even after I've completed a system recovery. I did some research and there's a possibility that there is a problem with the processor or the motherboard. How do I order the exact same processor I have now and how much is it? I don't have much money and if I can save my processor without replacing it, I would. Is there a way to do that?
So you can only replace a processor if its got a clip thing on the side? or do you have to check compatibility of power i.e voltage, or any components?
@mattsuzanna1992 hey i wanna change my processor so now i have a AMD Sempron(tm) processor 2600+ 1.60 Ghz so i wanna to change into Intel celeron(tm) 2.4 GHz !! can i change it ?? pls reply
@WickedSteak the only time you would go to ur bios after you installed a new cpu is to just check if its working and to overclock it your bios is your motherboard what ever updates have done to the bios would be either in the hard drive or ssd or motherboard idk where bios is kept but processors do not store stuff on them they just process stuff
@batty251 I'm talking about BEFORE you put in a new processor. I had to update my bios before replacing my pentium d with a core2duo otherwise it would not have worked. Bios are stored in the motherboard. The processor sits in the motherboard, therefore your mobo should be updated.
idk its exact name, i got it from Christmas Utah's website, from one of their Christmas light shows... the video is called "Bernies flight of the Christmas tree" so lets go with that as the song name ;)
do i have to change my mother board so i can change my CPU???? i have a dell dimension 4400 its on Intel Pentium 4 2.00Ghz I'm changing it to Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 2.83GHz 1333MHz 12MB 45nm CPU
I have a Compaq Presario F756NR Notebook PC with Vista. I want to replace my 1.9 GHz AMD processor (the full name is too long) with another one that's above 2.0 GHz (Maybe 3.0 GHz). What would you say about this? I'm gonna try to ask this to the Geek Squad as well just to make sure.
Can I Upgrade mine to Quad Core? From Athlon to Intel Quad Core? If not then what is the equivalent of Intel Quad Core to Athlon?
MY Dual Core is not over clock. Mine is 1.8 Ghz T_T Most of the game Dont work! They said that The DMC4 game needs over clock cpu and 1 GM or better 2gb ram. If I upgrade my Ram then its still useless ryt? Not even working in PCSX2 T_T
well, you CAN'T put a Intel in an Original AMD computer. so you would have to get the AMD Opteron, BUT FIRST you have to find out your socket type, you can do this b downloading CPU-Z and it will show you exactly what socket type to buy.
SERIOUS! thanks alot mattsuzanna! i knew how to replace everything on my CPU BUT the processor! i was always scared that i was gonnabreak it or something. My friend told me once u remove it, the processor wont work anymore or something like that and that you need to glue it or something? i dunno but thanks alot hahaha
