does anybody know the name of the song thats playing when eddies walking through the party towards the end of episode 1. it was a top seventies tune but i cant remember the name or the artist.
Sean deserves a BAFTA for Best Supporting Actor - brilliant work in this episode. The first hour was too slowly paced - but 2nd hr of pt 1 much improved!
Bean deserved more screen time - he only had about 5 scenes - approximately 9or 10 minutes - but powerful knock-out performance! Despite not enough screen time - still loads more of Sean compared to itty-bitty snippets when he was in American TV on Crusoe - which if you blinked, you'd miss his performance. A real treat!
this was the closest we had ot a proper HBO drama

I liked the 1974 part the best of the three. Great characters, and very well filmed.

The worst piece of crap I've seen in years.
A triumph of style over content.
The script was so bad some of the actors looked embarrassed.

Em,the actors jumped at the chance of appearing in this because the script was so good.

how many years have we had to wait for an epic british tv drama. just when i was giving up on c4.
this was an amazing piece, great, acting, writing, directing and really lovely cinematography by rob hardy.
a fine template to try to rebuild quality drama in this country.
