@colomblanco There is a good chance of him missing the red from such a distance.Screwing back ensures that even if he misses he won't leave his opponent an easy pot.If he just rolled it and it missed,the frame could be lost in a couple of minutes.

Coming back at that angle he would have had a small margin for error to finish on the pink. If he finished high on the blue like you would usually prefer to, he'd have to run into the pink when he potted it. Screwing back up the table meant he had a better chance of leaving everything safe if he missed, and he would be leaving himself a choice of the yellow or brown if it went in.

@nugget147 my arguement for staying on the pink, its easier play a shot dead weight and leave the white where the red was. The counter arguement is as you said leaving everything safe. It was a great shot in isolation especially because of the extra power needed to get back to baulk. more confidence and less power in my opinion would have been an even better shot though
