You guys don't get it do you? Hiroshima was a city, just like any other city, filled with innocent people. These people did not need to die. The U.S did as much bad as the Japanese did, by putting Japanese-Americans onto angle island, accusing them of spys. Saying "thats why you don't mess with U.S look at what happened to the Japanese", is like saying that north Korea, or china can nuke us and say "Don't mess with china"
@ASCG5000 Hiroshima was a city that contained the headquarters of the Japanese 2nd General Army under Field Marshal Hata. 43,000 J troops were in the city & approx 20,000 died in the bombing.
Care to explain what better choice Truman had in 8/45?
There is a 444 years CURSE on JAPAN for pimp Hirohito family and those un-repenting japs. More tsunamis, earthquakes and economic depression will punish japs for their brutality towards the Chinese and other asians in WWII.
What's happening in Fuckushima is only the beginning of what is to come.
This Australian moron wants to paint the side of democracy as an evil. Why did he not want to stay in Vietnam? Those socialist marxist commies are not such bad guys in his opinion. He did not report the totalitarian authoritarian dictatorship that was Mao, Ho Chi Min, Kim Il Sung, and Stalin. That is what democratic countries fight against. China and Russia were swallowing up their neighbors. He saw the US as an enemy to Australia, and is now whining about it. Screw him.
@tifranci Hell, the reason Japan attacked us is because FDR asked them to get out of China. Yet if we had not said anything or did anything we would still be evil.
IF Japan developed the A-bomb first then for sure Japan had won WWII. The surrender ceremony would held aboard the Japanese battleship Yamato at Pearl Harbor, at which the government representatives of US, Britain, China, Dutch, Australia, Canada and the rest of the Allied countries signed the Instrument of Surrender provided by the Japanese government. Eventually there would be only two countries in the world, Imperial Japan and Nazi Germany.
Germany and Japan were both working towards the development of atomic weapons. We beat them to it. Had we not, I have no doubt that they would have been used against the US in some capacity. It aggravates me when people try to re-write history. It was all out war. Is the agony of starvation worse than the agony of radiation exposure? I pray I never find out.
I would have refused their unconditional surrender after the second atomic bomb and would have ordered the millitary to continue a blockade while we built 100 more bombs. Then I would have exterminated them as a race. After their savage behavior in Unit 731 and the rape and torture they spread through out China, they proved that they are sub-human and undeserving of life. They have not changed. It is in their genes. The Japanese are never to be trusted. They are still the enemy.
@edwardschlosser1 its people like you that gives us a bad name, not EVERY japanese person was over there doing that stuff. Just like not EVERY us soldier kills innocent iraqis. Get a freakin life dude
@adamjessi4ever So I guess that you feel that the people that were in the Twin Towers in New Yourk brought it upon themselves because another goverment hated their goverment? Of course not. They had Nothing to do with the actions of the United States goverment. The Japanese people was soundly defeated. The bomb on the "People" was just plain murder.
@meetman57 Wrong. 9/11 was to start a war. hiroshima was to end a war. The j-govt trained their people to fight and kill the would be Allied invasion. The "people" were in fact soldiers. Fact.
My wife is from the Philippines...I am so sick of the whining and the lies bleeding for the Japs...my Grandpa was in this war...and the Japs were asked to surrender by CHINA, UK and Truman, they said "NO!" It was was soon thereafter the bomb was dropped...My wife's people were invaded and raped and used as comfort women, the Pinoy were doused with gas and set ablaze and Manila was almost leveled...yes, by the Japs...do not forget the Bataan death march!
Any of the typical whiners care to comment on FUKUSHIMA? LEVEL 7. Reactor #1 melted down withing the first 24 hours. The j-govt was quiet about it. Hmmmmm. How about any whining about TOKAIMURA? LEVEL 4.
.. i dont blame america for this. i blame man kind. you all wanted war. you got it. you cant get to upset for casulitys no matter how sever when you start something that is the point. which is ending somethings life. in this case this is the sign to us all. stop fighting and make peace you dumb basterds. before this happens to not only japan. but to us all.
@infernorock11 But America was the ones who dropped the bombs, were they not? Theyre the ones who decided to target the civilians! The children, the unarmed, the people who never got a chance to defend themselves. Only terrorists do that! Terrorists such as Hitler, Al-Qaida etc. How can you blame mankind for something that your own country is responsible for? I would say that makes you incredibly ignorant! This is probably the worst way ever, that a country could "win" an already lost battle.
•Civilians: 68 all killed from pearl harbor, there will be civilan casuatys in war. Every war had them. dont be ignorant. all war is stupid and isnt worth anyones live ending. soilders and civilans are still human. dont continue hate. it also fuels war
@infernorock11 Oviously there will be civilian casualties! But once you start targetting them you suddenly become a terrorist. How can you defend that and how can you call me ignorant when you are ignoring the facts :S I never said anything about wars in general. Obviously the world would be much better without them but the leaders use different methods. Targetting civilians is the worst.
@DoggyC i know it was fucked up how they killed all those civilians. but they did it on a base. and where els will you use a nuclear wepon? I agree that the U.S goverment shouldnt have done that. but in those times everyone thought diffrently, you have to understand that. Everyone was more ignorant back then. All that mattered to them back then was to end the war. oviously they did it. Dont pretend for a second if japan had that technology they wouldnt use it. kamikaze missons.enough said
@infernorock11 No they didnt you idiot. Look your sht up again. These two cities were considered "virgin cities" because all the military cities were gone and bombed pretty much to the ground. The bomb exploded on Hiroshima was on a bridge and was deliberately targeted at civilians.
@TheJafrikan That's the point moron. You achieve enough results to make the facist regime in charge see the consequences of their continued refusal to surrender and end the war.
200k is a pathetically trivial number compared to how many millions facist Japan and their Nazi allies killed. And frankly it's far less than how many would end up dying if there was a ground invasion, not to mention Japan would be half occupied by the soviets.
@logan0178 And where are your sources? From Truman's famous "million" number?
Lets not forget the utter destruction of tokyo and the numbers associated with that. Lets ALSO not forget that the military didnt even know what hit them until after the war.
@TheJafrikan They didn't know what hit them until about thewar?Bullshit.Truman called a press conference announcing the use of the A bomb 16 hours after Little Boy exploded.(The "rain of ruin" speech) Or look at the front page of the New York Times Aug 7,1945.
Ground invasion? There's a monument on Okinawa, listing the dead from that battle. 240,734 names. Kyushu's garrison was >x10 larger. DO THE MATH.
@TheJafrikan From the war crimes tribunal as well as any number of international sources. It's common knowledge, except to the common Japanese because you morons get whitewashed text books in schools. The very fact you have the audacity to parade around such lies and defend the undefendable facist Japanese regime is proof of your cluelessness.
@logan0178 you failed to post any internatonal sources and commited a StrawMan fallicy. Great one bro.
Where have I lied? Why WOULD I lie? As you said, the facist Japanese regime cannot be defended. What YOU need to do is stop parading your nationalistic American views.
@TheJafrikan Lol I've already said it's from the warcrimes tribunal. You just totally ignore facts because the facts don't fit with your retarded fantasy where Japan is somehow the victim when in fact it's one of the most malicious and vicious genocidal regimes in history, matched only by the Nazis, who were their allies.
Who said that Japan is the victim? Please dont misquote me. Regardless of the Japanese military, the CITIZENS of the two cities were innocent and INDEED victims. Let us not forget that.
@TheJafrikan The records of Japan's atrocities are common knowledge and well documented. You just persist in your fantasy where Japan was the victim. Japan was training its own citizens to fight to the death against the allies.
If the bombs weren't dropped and the war didn't end tens of millions of Japs would've died. So the bottom line is you retards that are against the bombs either are too stupid to realize that or want more Japs to die.
@logan0178 Find me documented proof of this happening in Hiroshima or Nagasaki. As far as Im concerned, Ive been to Japan and spoke to first hand accounts.
Secondly there is far more evidence supporting that Japan was on the verge of surrender. Not only is your "tens of millions" number a complete bullsht lie and fallicy, but you have just proved that you are a racist asshole. Whats funy is that you continue to talk about Japanese war atrocities when this bom had nothin to do w/ it.
"Those who seek to argue that Japan was ready to surrender before Hiroshima are peddlers of fantasies.True, the Tokyo leadership wanted peace, but on terms rightly unacceptable to the Allies."-Max Hastings "Retribution"p513 Even after H&N 1/2 j cbnt wanted:
I refer you to the conclusions of Edwin Reischauer-he was born in Japan, was Harvard's *only* PhD in Japanese studies before the war,and served 5 years as US ambassador to Japan. He concluded that if not for the A bombs, the Japanese death toll would have reached ten million.
Vice Admiral Onishi (IJN Vice Chief of Staff) "If Japan is willing to sacrafice twenty million lives in special attacks, victory is still attainable"
@TheJafrikan LOL! You need a short lesson in 1945 Japanese Constitutional Law. FOUR members of the J cabinets "Big Six" were active duty officers: 2 Admirals and 2 Generals.(Yonai,Toyoda,Anami& Umezu). So the military had FOUR vetoes over any government action.
I suggest you read the cables btwn JForMin Togo& JambUSSR Sato. As late as 8/2/45 after Sato asked Togo tostate J peace terms,Togodeclined.J govt had not even begun to negotiate.
@TheJafrikan *Sigh*.OK,Imdealing with a slow learner here. The J military was in near complete control of the government: 4 members of the cabinet were active duty officers-2 Admirals & 2 Generals. If any of them resigned, they could force the formation of a new government
@TheJafrikan Wow you moron this stuff is all over the net and in libraries. It's common knowledge. What you want a document proving earth is round or that it revolves around the sun?
Go look up an atlas you clueless douchebag.
Japan's killed 4 million Chinese, 4 million from the East Indies, and more than 2 million from vietnam alone and that doesn't even include the philipines, korea, and other south eastern asian countries and Russians.
@logan0178 You're in the right ballpark, but you're *understating* the case.Max Hastings puts the Chinese death toll1937-45 @ btwn 10& 15 million and another 5 million more civilian deaths throughout Asia.
@kentamitchell Yeah if you count starting at 1937 that is true.
It's indisputable that Japan was a murderous genocidal power during WW2 barely eclipsed by their Nazi allies. It's an insult to all the victims of Japan to imply that somehow it was a victim.
Blame the Japanese causalities on the true perpetrators, the Japanese government.
The moral of the story here is if you don't want your citizens to die then don't go around starting genocidal wars and lose. My 2 cents.
@TheJafrikan Lets not forget that Hiroshima was the headquarters of the Japanese 2nd General Army under Field MarshalHata. 43,000J troops were in the city &>20,000 died in the bombing.
FUKUSHIMA: Warning to japan. They point is that japan may never learn from its mistakes. Just a few years ago there was the TOKAIMURA ACCIDENT. They forgot about that.
The problem with the js is that they conveniently forget they negative things they have done and love to play themselves off as the victim. Sad and pathetic.
lmao now you are brining up homosexuality? LMAO!!! Out of now where you bring that up? I see your mind randomly floats to homosexual thoughts which you then project on people and that says a great deal about you.. HAHAHAHAHAHA.

@Jaiyeson My uninformed opinions? statistics do not come from opinions Any numbers I’ve given is from sources which I’ve seen in books or online. This is a waste of time cause of seen these numbers many times.
Perhaps someone has made a mistake?
Just to be clear (I believe you said 150,000 Pacific) what is your number of battle deaths per theatre? Europe & Pacific, Don’t give me a breakdown, just your final tally of each please so there is no misunderstanding.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
@Jaiyeson As for the Johnson quote, he is not implying or telling you that Japan killed more civilians. He does not give any facts. He only gives “some” numbers that you are taking out of context. It is not like you say “26 million vs 30 million” more like 42 million vs 23 million. 42 million Europe vs 30 million Aisa if you like.
Maybe you missed what I wrote about the other countries in Europe. Poland had 6 million killed and with the others add up to many more.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
@Jaiyeson Johnson knew well that Jews and Russians were among many others killed in Europe.
He began with the two, then stopped before he finished and switched to Asia where he named 7 countries. His mouth just couldn’t keep up to his train of thought.
“It may be pointless to try to establish which World War Two Axis aggressor, Germany or Japan, was the more brutal to the peoples it victimized.” Shows he wasn’t trying to establish who was more brutal.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
@Jaiyeson His last line, “Both nations looted the countries they conquered on a monumental scale, though Japan plundered more, over a longer period, than the Nazis” is the point he was trying to get across. That both countries looted very much though Japan “plundered” or “looted” over a longer period of time.
I don’t know where he got 30 million from, not that he didn’t get it from somewhere but it does not mean the correct or incorrect number but only the largest.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
@Jaiyeson 5 days ago you said “Japan had racked up a body count of over 10 million civi deaths before they attacked our bases” and “at least 23 million of them ethnic Chinese”
What happened to the 7 million? You added 16 million in 2 days??? “They lost over a million in Nanking ALONE”
Chinese don’t even say 1 million. District court of Nanking - 300,000. Some say 50,000 like Max Hastings or John Rabe who was there.

@Jaiyeson You “Really most cite at about 10,,000,000. Who is this most you speak of? Is it your opinion or do you hace sources? Cite your sources on these "most" Facts vs Opinions and best believe I will google them”
Kinder 4,500,000 – maybe means killed directly by Japanese- murders, colateral
From Colorado State Dept.. of American Studies....Admiral William D. Leahy stated " The use of this Barbarous wepon at Hiroshima and Nagasaki was of no material assistance in our war against Japan. Tha Japanese were already defeated and ready to surrender." WE murdered those people...May God have mercy on us.
@meetman57 Apparently Leahy didn't grasp the implications of the cables btwn JambUSSR Sato& JForMin Togo.8/2/45 after Satoasked himtostate J peaceterms, Togo stated it would be impossible tostate them.Japan was not only not anywhere near surrender, they had not even settled on peaceterms!
Fleet Adm. Chester W. Nimits stated in a speech given in Washington D.C. on October 5 th. 1945 " The Atomic Bomb played no decisive part, from a purely military standpoint, in the defeat of Japan." I would think that Admiral Nimitz just MIGHT know ! LOL! Jaiyeson is silly.
@Badwolf182 "Clearly has not solved anything in the past"?LOL! How did theUS becomean independent country? What settled who owned Texas? How did Lincoln abolish slavery? Did we get rid of Hitler by circulating petitions against him?
Your ignorance of history iseven worse than your spelling.
LOL this is your quote "I dont beleive in killing fellow human beings to solve problems" which is full of BS. The Japanese had killed MILLIONS of people before they attacked the USA and would go on to kill millions more. You keep trying to debate on a topic that you have ZERO historical knowledge about. So I will ask you again for the FOURTH time. How would you have stopped the Japanese aggresion and how would you have stopped WW2??? I am still waiting for your magical solution
@Badwolf182 lol yep run off with your tail between your legs. When confronted with facts you got shut down. When Asked for an alternative solution you have no answer. 2-3 million more dead or 3 hundred thousand. I ick the thousands while you pick the millions. LMAO I am a happy person and I dont mind schooling people like you who are ignorant to the facts and have ZERO solutions. Peace =)
LMAO thats what I thought. When confronted with facts you have nothing to say back. Over 20 million people dead around the world due strictly to Japans wanton aggresion, wars, and genocide. Over 30 million wounded. People missing legs, arms, blind, brain damage etc. A total of over 50 million dead or surffering from wounds. And estimated 1-4 million more due to a land invasion from the fighting to the starvation of the people. 2 atomic bombs resolved it. Whats your solution?
lol you dumb ass. Read a history book. The United States of America cut off Japans oil supply because they were killing millions of chinese and other asian people. The greed would have been to keep selling them oil like nothing was going on. The USA tried to resolve the conflict peacefully and through resource leverage. Japan said no dice and continued killing millions and was bold enough to attack the Aussies and the USA. Your BS hyberbole had nothing to do with what happened
@Jaiyeson I should have read this comment before. Anyhow, like most people here, I haven't read history either. If what you are saying is true, I have no more pain for what happened with Japan.
(cont) Australlia lost 27,073 fighting men, Over a 1.5 filipino people killed by the japanese. Add all that up and double it for the total wounded in all the countries. During the war with Japan, Japan was responsible for the deaths of over 20 million people and wounded about 30 million. The invasion of japan was estimating over a million more dead for japan and between 100,000 to 500,000 deaths for the USA alone. So tell me you dumb fuck...how would you have eneded the war?
300,000 people died from the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki and it ended the war. Lets look at the big picture shall we? Japan had 1.2 million battle deaths and another 1.4 million soldiers listed as missing, almost 1 million civilians were killed in the bombing raids between 1944 and 1945. 17 million dead as a result of JAPANS policies in Asia (ie their invasions of Korea, china etc) from 1931 to 1945. Over 106,207 American troops killed. (cont)
The Atomic bombs were justified you twit. The Japanese were commiting GENOCIDE!!! They butchered over 7 MILLION Chinese. The USA SAVED China by refusing to sell/provide oil to Japan till they stopped. Japan at the time got 90% their oil from the USA. In turn Japan kept killing Chinese (Look up the Rape of Nanking) and their answer was an invasion of Austrailia and Pearl harbor. Japan cost the world literally over 10 million lifes and were stopped by atomic bombs. End of story.
@birokoilias People like u act like civillians are the only ones who can be innocent. What about all the innocent young men who were drafted into the war with Japan and died? What about the estimated MILLIONS more who would have to be drafted to fight a grueling land war? Being picked at random to have your guts hanging off barbed wire sounds about equal to radation poisoning. The OLD Japan murdered 7 MILLION chinese during WW2 but you were saying something about atomic bombs?
@Jaiyeson these bombs devastated the land and filled the environment and surviving people of those and other regions of japan with life-long life-thratening health problems like mutations and cancers, so the drawbacks of atomic bombs aren't just the people instantly killed by them. So 1) no it wasn't worth it. 2) You cannot predict the casualties of the war if this bombing did not occur. and 3) under any circumstances targeting such bombs to cities filled with civilians is a crime of war.
Yep life threating injuries of A-bombs suck. You know what else sucks? A kid who just turned 18 who is still alive with bullet wounds while some of his guts are wrapped in barbed wire as he cries out for his mother. Or the 20 year old who now lives without his genitalia and left leg missing cause he stepped on a land mine etc. So 1) It was worth it. 2) You can predict casualties (Estimated over 100 thousands u.s troops would die taking the Islands (150K died) 3)No, its war...
Iwo Jimia, Okinawa, the Phillipines, etc etc Thats just the USA servicemen from all branches as taking the islands was not only ground battles but battles in the air and at sea (i.e. when Kamikaze fighters attacked U.S. Ships near Iwo Jima to try and stop them from providing supplies, artillery etc etc. As far as planing and estimates go Read Sutherland, Richard K. et al., "DOWNFALL": Strategic Plan for Operations in the Japanese Archipelago to see how they predicted casualties
@Jaiyeson Yes I know how they estimated. I just wondered where you got your estimate from, all services of 100,000 and (150,000 died) Somethings a little off I'd say since the US lost 92,000 in the whole Pacific war including Pearl harbor.
"Japan was commiting genocide on a scale far worse then the Nazi's" ? Don't think so.
Without getting technical on the definition of genocide the Nazis murdered more than the Japs.
@1Dougy85 Actually your numbers are way off here are the numbers.Which anyone can google.
Army ground forces 41,592
United States Air Forces 15,694
Navy/Coast Guard 31,485
Marine Corps 19,733
Unidentified Theaters- Army 39
And over 45,000 MIA which means they died. Cant count your body when you get hit with a mortar shell or are taken prisoner and then executed or sub is sunk etc etc. (cont)
@Jaiyeson 113,000 is from other causes in Pacific, Europe and USA. Pre battle estimates didn’t include sickness or accidents and is what we are talking here. You want to count someone in your numbers who went for a swim and got eaten by a shark or drove off the road and died in Hawaii then OK. Dead is dead but not part of battle dead or estimate
United States Dept. of the Army, Army Battle Casualties and Non Battle Deaths in World War II. (which you can goggle and get a pdf file of the official reports that very precisely seperate combat deaths and non combat deaths.
Also "Michael Clodfelter. Warfare and Armed Conflicts- A Statistical Reference to Casualty and Other Figures, 1500–2000. 2nd Ed. 2002 ISBN 0-7864-1204-6. Pages 584-591"
@Jaiyeson I read Johnson before. Did he imply Japan committed genocide on a scale far worse than Nazis? No he did not, you did. Its not nice to make things up to support what you pull out of your ass. This is what Johnson said
It may be pointless to try to establish which World War Two Axis aggressor, Germany or Japan, was the more brutal to the peoples it victimized. The Germans killed six million Jews and 20 million Russians; the Japanese slaughtered as many as 30 million Filipinos,
Johnson doesnt have to imply it. He is telling you they killed more civillains were killed over a longer time. That doesnt imply that its worse it tells you it was with facts. 26 miilion vs 30 million. The 30 million is worse when it comes to civllian deaths.
@Jaiyeson Most estimate China’s dead at about 10,000,000 or lower. 23 million is far higher but if it makes you feel better knock yourself out. Remember it doesn’t mean “murdered” by the Japanese. Estimates include death by all causes. The next lower is 15 million Chinese dead broken down to 6 million by Chinese Nationalists, 4 million murdered by Japanese, 250,000 by Communists, over 2 million by famine & disease, over 2 million as collateral war damage in battles, air raids etc.
They lost over a million in Nanking ALONE. Really most cite at about 10,,000,000. Who is this most you speak of? Is it your opinion or do you hace sources? Cite your sources on these "most". Facts vs Opinions and best believe I will google them.
Also to bring it all back. After all these millions dead and double that in injured. How were you going to stop the war in Japan without A-Bombs? Answer that question before anything else please. I challenge you.
"Germans killed six million Jews and 20 million Russians [i.e. Soviet citizens]; the Japanese slaughtered as many as 30 million Filipinos, Malays, Vietnamese, Cambodians, Indonesians and Burmese, at least 23 million of them ethnic Chinese. Both nations looted the countries they conquered on a monumental scale, though Japan plundered more, over a longer period, than the Nazis."
@Jaiyeson Malays, Vietnamese, Cambodians, Indonesians and Burmese, at least 23 million of them ethnic Chinese.
Notice 6 million Jews and 20 million Russians for 26 m and 7 Asian countries for a total of 30,? What of Poland, Yugoslavia, Romania, Greece, France, Czechoslovakia, GB, Netherlands, Belgium & others?
28 million civilians and 14 million military in Europe = 42 million. 18 million civilians and 5 million military in Asia = 23 m for 65 million total war dead.
@Jaiyeson Nazis murdered around 15 million civilians of which 6 million were Jews. Up to 20 million if you include 4 million POW. Japan murdered 6-7 million.
Another quote from Chalmers Johnson you might like,
Every day I imagine an Iraqi man my age — 75 years old — saying to his son, “Son, your mother and I have talked it over. For the sake of our dignity, for the sake of our self-respect, go out and kill an American tonight.”
@Jaiyeson And what has ''old'' japan got to do with the nagasaki and hiroshima atomic bombing? Are you saying that because japan murdered civilians in the past, it seems fair to have her civilians murdered as well? wtf man..
When I say "Old" Japan, I am refering to the Japan that was responsible for the combined deaths of over 20 million deaths world wide... you do realize the "Old" Japan had killed a total of 7 million Chinese civilians during that time alone? Or the 1.5 Filipino civilians etc. Yet it is fair to murder 250 thousand civilians when the other choice is murdering 1.5 million civilians and 150-500 thousand troops which is the bare minimium a land invasion would cause. Your solution is?
I am very clear on what I am saying. Do you like the ability to comprehend basic logic? Japan was commiting genocide on a scale far worse then the Nazi's were. Do you even know why they attacked the USA? Do you even understand why they refused to surrender? Have you looked up how many people died Civies and soliders on just taking the islands? Do you even know how casualties can be predicted? So tell me with no A-bomb how would u have stopped the war??????? I am waiting...
then it seems that you believe the end justifies the means,we dont agree on that. and dont keep talking about land invasion because that would never happen, it would be too risky for the usa. plus you're from the country that sended the bombs-its harder for you to be objective on the topic, so whatever..
No.. Once again I am very clear. I value ALL human life. The diffrence here between me and you is I am looking at the big picture which is "How man HUMAN deaths can we avoid to resolve this war" Also you are completely ignorant to this topic. A Land Invasion was already taking place you ignorant twit.. the first stage of which was to take the Islands... which we did.. troops and battle ships were being put in postion for the invasion when the bombs dropped. Educate yourself
Yes educate yourself. I am not pro-war. I think peaceful solutions should aways be reached first. But unlike you I am not un-realistic. When a country is commiting genocide and then ATTACKS your country what do you do? Peacefully protest them to stop killing your people? You are the one who needs a lesson in respect. Since you do not respect people had to do in a horrible situation. Tell me, how would you have ended the paciffic conflict without A-bombs?
@Jaiyeson Japan attacked our military bases. WE committed genocide against the women, children, babies, old people..ect. We are no better than they are. All that you named that the Japanese goverment did in China, ect. was NOT committed by any of the people that I just named. We murdered them.
Japan had racked up a body count of over 10 million civi deaths before they attacked our bases. They would go on to kill a total of over 30 million civillians by the end of the war. "30 million Filipinos, Malays, Vietnamese, Cambodians, Indonesians and Burmese, at least 23 million of them ethnic Chinese" Emperor Hirito recieved reports that a land invasion could cost japan up to 4 million of their own dead AFTER the a-bombs were dropped and even then he almost didnt surrender.
@Jaiyeson The 10 million civil deaths. was committed by the Japanese goverment. The Japanese people were a defeated nation the day that the bomb was dropped. Not a single one of those deaths that you named was committed by the week-old baby asleep in its cribb. Or the little girl playing with her puppy in her back yard, or the old gray headed couple sitting on the park bench holding hands. Not one of the deaths that you named.
These people were murdered with no way to defend themselves.
Deaths were ordered by the Govt.. they were carried out by the people. Big diffrence. Politicians didnt go around bayoneting 30 million people now did they? Since your bringing up babies. Can you explain to a mother why her only child an 18 year old kid who never been with a chic.. lived on his own, followed his dreams, was burned alive because japan forced him to fight and defend his country? Guess he had it coming being how he was DRAFTED and all. People were forced into a war
@Jaiyeson I agree that people are FORCED into war. But little children are not. Fighting soldiers is bad enough..but they are soldiers. Little babies are not. Hitler killed millions of people just because they were jews...we killed thousands just because they were Japanese. All of those people you saw with the bamboo poles were in JAPAN...not the United States. They were NO threat to us what so ever. America is paying for those sins. We are a falling empire and a joke to the world.
@meetman57 A little childs life is no more valuable then an adults life. They are both equal period. In addition, They are soliders does not mean they are disposable people. You say that like its a justification for their deaths when all it is, is an increase in the chance that they will die. Are you aware that Japan still had occupied territory in other countries othen then Japan? Are you even aware that Japan ended up killing just over 30 million civllians alone in the war? They were a threat
@Jaiyeson WoW!! You say that a childs life is no more valuable that than an adults? What a bad person!! You would jump in a lifeboat on a sinking ship and leave a child there who hasnt had a chance to live life yet? I think I understand now why you are upholding the mass murder of Japanese babies. You are confused! PERIOD.
Are you aware that where ever Japan had this "Occupied" territory..that they were still no threat to US.
Just our submarine fleet could have cruised around the island.
No, I am a good person and a realistic one. You want to play around with scnarios then lets. You have to save one person from burning to death who will you save? a 5 year old child or a 28 year old doctor who has a cure for Aids/Hiv? I do not live in some fairy tale world like you. The real world is full of difficult and horrible choices but in the end you try to save as many as you can. I understand now why you would let Japan continue to commit genocide rather then stop them.
@Jaiyeson I would save a five year old child. Our country is on the downfall because of these sins. Our flag is being burned around the world, our dollar is worthless, our schools have police walking the halls, and I could go on for hours. Our country is just as dirty as about any on earth.
LAMO about sins. You would save the 5 year old... REALLY? Do you know how many MILLIONS of people and CHILDREN die to HIV/Aids every year? You save one life and will allow MILLIONS to die not only in that year but in every year after. You are insane.. lmao sin this sin that.. melodrama and being irrational lol.
The Japanese slaughtered as many as 30 million Filipinos, Malays, Vietnamese, Cambodians, Indonesians and Burmese, at least 23 million of them ethnic Chinese. Were are submarines going to float around china???? You just demonstrated that you know NOTHING about WW2 you do not even know what countries Japan STILL had forces in let alone the horrible execution orders they were given towards the end of war. You obviously have a computer with net connection google the war.
Also maybe you know something I dont know. But what did Japan plan on doing if they could have got their way and surrendered with no conditions? Or better yet what was going to stop the Chinese and Russian forces from going through with their planned land invasion of Japan? LOL I mean are you even aware that Japan tried invading Russia but were pushed back? America is not paying for any so called sins nor are we a falling empire lmao. Save the melodrama for someone else.
Finally "the Allied bombing campaign against Germany killed about 600,000 German civilians throughout the war. War is not about choosing between good and evil, it's about choosing the action that is less evil to win." How many times have protested against carpet bombing? Have any post on forums about it? Didnt think so.
@Jaiyeson You just made my point for me! Bombing during the war yousay killed about 600,000 German civilans..I doubt that number, but lets say you are right. The key word here is "During the war" Untill the day the Germans surrendered, our bombers was catching flack from antiaircraft guns. Japan had nothing that could defend its self from the Super fortress bomber. The Geneva Convention states that "Any target that cant be defended can not be attacked. Murdered!
You doubt thats the number????????? That is the number. GOOGLE IT. Another diffrence between me and you is I acutally take time to research up the facts before I speak on them. I form my opinions after the evidence. You make opinions without researching them.
@meetman57 and by the way you rationalize lives I think you are a complete monster. When faced with saving millions of lives (a huge bulk of them children)... or saving one life. You chose the one life. You disgust me.
@Jaiyeson LOL!! You can bet on one thing....what you think of me is soo low on my list that it is funny.
Its hard to take anyone serious who would jump in front of a child to get into a lifeboat on a sinking ship surely cant be much. To top it all off.. our country MURDERED those Japanese people.... Ill bet that you are queer as a three dollar bill always talking about aids.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
@Jaiyeson And it is not only referring to Japans murders but death from all causes probably including military including Japan civilian and military. You sure are quick to change your mind to 30 million based on this one quote and did you even read the whole quote & article or just the part you posted?
Just a week ago you said “I am refering to the Japan that was responsible for the combined deaths of over 20 million deaths world wide”
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
@Jaiyeson That souinds realistic. I said 23 million =18 m civ + 5 million military including Japan. Our numbers were about the same. What happened? You mentioned the book “Downfall” Richard Frank said Japan launched a war of aggresion that took 17 million lives, maybe referring to just civilians and not including Japan
Also a week ago you said “you do realize the "Old" Japan had killed a total of 7 million Chinese civilians”
and war is all about murder. What you try to do is limit how many casualties are taken. Soldier or civillian it is still a HUMAN life.
Also when am I going to see equal protest from guys like you about all the carpet bombing done in WW2. Are you protesting about Brits in other videos bombing the shit out of german cities? etc etc etc. Lets not kid ourselves here. When countries mechanize warmachines for genocide then u end up fighting wars where no one comes out clean.
@Jaiyeson The day that the bomb was dropped, Japan was no threat to our country at all. They had no Navy, merchant Marine, their army lay dead on the island chain to Japan. Even the aircraft that dropped the bomb was not fired on because thay had no wepon that could reach it. They were defeated. No land attack was needed...it was just a matter of time before they would be forced to surrender. Our boys copuld haqe went home and waited. It was just plain cold blooded murder.
@meetman57 They were a threat to our country. You can find old new reels that the japanese made showing them preping civies in bamboo charge drills and suicide bombing missions. Emperor Hirohitos own advisor presented him with a report begging him to have Japan surrender due to the casualties they would suffer if a full land invasion took place. In addition, Japan did not want to surrender because they wanted no condtions attached. I.E. they can build up their military strentgh again. Google it
@Jaiyeson That is the most silly thing that I have ever heard of. Did you say that Japan wanted to build up their military? With what? Only 14% of Japan even had electric power. No merchand fleet, so they could never get oil for planes or even ships. The factories was laying on the ground. No medical supplies and no way of getting any. No food and no way of getting any. They couldnt build a dog house if they wanted to. The filmeyou saw was made during the early war years. Murder!!
A basic google search on why Japan did not surrender or the events leading up to the surrender could have told you everything I mentioned. Read up on history before you try and comment on it.
@Jaiyeson The Small Island country has the same sq. miles as the state of Montana. IT had no air force, navy merchant fleet, the bulk of its arny laid dead on the pacific islands. It was still at War with Russia, Canada, New Zealand, Ireland, Scottland, France,Australia, China, and oh yea..the United States. And you feel that we had to drop atomic bombs on them to win the war? How stupid!! WE murdered babies, children old people , sick people, people who couldnt defend themselves. murder!
@Jaiyeson Actually your numbers are off. Do a search and see. Battle related deaths or kia always include missing in action at the end of the war, yes even those in a sub sent to the bottom, LOL. What it does not include is other causes - accidents, disease, suicide, murder etc many of which happened at home. US war dead has always been 292,000 kia and is divided 96,000 Pacific and 196,000 Europe.
Actually I have done searches for the information. Thats how I know I am right. Provide a source we can google to prove otherwise. My sources American Battle Monuments Commission, also you can google the numbers from any U.S. military service official websites. In addition, they did not count Subs they never recovered or ones that were not able to transmite final locations etc cause they got hit before they could do so. Facts with sources vs your uninformed opinions.
@kozeel That anology fails completely. As SecWar Stimson said "The bombs were our least abhorrent choice"
What better option did Truman have? Compromise peace? J military retains power; plans PacWar 2
Invade? 240,000 died on Okinawa. Kyushu's garrison was >x7 larger. Do the math.
Blockade? How many MILLIONS of J civilians would've starved (along w/100,000 Allied POWs & 100,000civilian internees) before god/man hirohito gave the order to surrender?
@kentamitchell Here my dear friend is not understanding the difference between "casualty" and "murder". When soldiers die in war, it is called casualty but when civilians are killed, it is called "murder". So to avoid millions of casualties, US decided to murder a few hundred thousand?
@kozeel What you fail to grasp is that MILLIONS of J civilians would have died in an invasion and MILLIONS more would have starved to death had the war continued to the end of 1945.
@kentamitchell No doubts, there "could have been" millions of casualties in the war but the US decided to "murder" few hundred thousand. Who can justify that?
@kozeel whats done is done, hiroshima got what was coming to it and its a sad thing really that not every one deserved to be shredded by this atomic monster but from what i understand it was the easiest option.
@kentamitchell Yeah, that's all that matters. Little Boy dropped ... 20,000 J Troops killed ... just a million J civilians murdered. Big Deal? Yeah, a very good day's work for the 509th Composite Group. Good Job! Bravo!
@kozeel *sigh* You REALLY need to learn a bit of history. Death toll from H&N was approx 200k. Death toll from invasion and/or blockade would've been MILLIONS.
3 *hours* after god/man hirohito heard of Nagasaki, he gave the order to surrender.
William Manchester was a sergeant with the 26th USMC regt, who fought on Okinawa 4-6/45. His unit took 81% casualties (he was wounded twice) His view: Thank God for the atomic bomb.
@kozeel I agree with you. My grandfather lost friends at Pearl Harbor, & he can barely talk about the attack to this day. But what he does talk about is how friendly the Japanese civilians were when he was stationed in Japan. He hated the thought that any of them were afraid of his presence, despite his utter disdain for what the Japanese government had done at Pearl Harbor.
What do you call it when an innocent 18 year old is forced (DRAFTED) to fight in a war started by japan because the USA refused to sell/provide them with oil untill they pulled out of their monsterous genocidal invasion of China which resulted in over 7 MILLION Chinese CIVILIANS being butchered by the Japanese? Is that 18 year old innocent kid whose face is blown off just some shrugable casuality or might his country men feel he was murdered while defending his country?
@Jaiyeson When did I say Japanese govt. is/was innocent? When did I support all the kills that Japanese made? Japanese govt., the King, the soldiers deserved to be treated like that. But I'm STRICTLY against killing civilians. Civilians include - innocent people, women, kids, animals, etc. Do you think we should support killing innocent people? What do we call it when atomic bombs were dropped on H&N? Collateral Damage? I am and always will be against murdering civilians.
What are you not getting? INNOCENT does NOT just mean civillians. Has it ever occured to you that soliders can be innocents to? Your twisted morality sets up a BS scenario where a soliders life = not innocent. An 18 year old kid who is drafted is innocent to. The diffrence between me and you is I value both the civillian and the soldier life equally. 3 Million INNOCENT soliders killed or thousands of innocent civillians. The answer is easy when you value human life equally.
@Jaiyeson A soldier is prepared to fight, kill or die. Soldiers are equipped with weapons and they are "aware" of the fact that they could get killed in war. They are prepared to kill or get killed. Secondly, without killing soldiers, a war cannot be won. Now can we keep the "civilians" out of the mess please? Can we both agree that civilians are not supposed to die in any war? They are not prepared to die, nor to kill. UNDERSTAND THE DIFFERENCE??
You think because a drill sergeant yells at you and trains you how to shoot a gun that you are prepared to fight, kill, or die? Nothing can prepare u for killing someone you didnt want to kill, NOTHING can prepare you for death. NO ONE is supposed to be murderd. Civillian or Solider. Reality vs Idealism UNDERSTAND THE DIFFRENCE??? Go tell mothers of 18 year old soliders their sons have to die while an 18 year old civillian in the country who started the war doesnt.
@Jaiyeson A stuntman knows that he can get killed while doing a stunt. A wrestler knows that his limbs may be broken/twisted while wrestling. An electrician knows that he may get electrocuted some fuckin fine day. A soldier knows, he may die in war. Civilians: men, women, elders, kids, etc. don't expect to die with an atomic bomb. What you are trying to say is this: A terrorist may kill thousands, so to get him, it is fair to blow up a whole city with atom bomb. Justified?
lmao Civilians know they can die if their country is at war to you dumb ass. Civillains know they can die from bombing runs... have you ever read a history book on ww2?? Ever here of carpet bombing? Ask the Russians, Brits, and Germans what thats all about. Civilians knew dam well in that era that they could die from bombs dropped out of planes. Seriously dude you fail at logic. Also I am not trying to say anything. I am clear on what I am saying while you struggle with hyperboles
Lets take it a step further. Up untill the Bombs were dropped Japans genocidal aggresion has cost the WORLD over 20 million deaths and over 30 million wounded. A land invasion would have cost Japan and estimated 1.5 to 3 million more deaths and cost the USA an estimated 150-300 thousand more deaths. Not to mention the Russian and Chineese soliders estimated deaths. So up to 4 million humans dead or the A-bombs w/250 thousand dead. A-bomb=humane solution. How would u have solved it?
You guys don't get it do you? Hiroshima was a city, just like any other city, filled with innocent people. These people did not need to die. The U.S did as much bad as the Japanese did, by putting Japanese-Americans onto angle island, accusing them of spys. Saying "thats why you don't mess with U.S look at what happened to the Japanese", is like saying that north Korea, or china can nuke us and say "Don't mess with china"
ASCG5000 2 weeks ago
@ASCG5000 Hiroshima was a city that contained the headquarters of the Japanese 2nd General Army under Field Marshal Hata. 43,000 J troops were in the city & approx 20,000 died in the bombing.

Screw him.
tifranci 8 months ago

@TectonicPower and those two would have eventually gone to war.

PopppaBlue59 8 months ago
I would have refused their unconditional surrender after the second atomic bomb and would have ordered the millitary to continue a blockade while we built 100 more bombs. Then I would have exterminated them as a race. After their savage behavior in Unit 731 and the rape and torture they spread through out China, they proved that they are sub-human and undeserving of life. They have not changed. It is in their genes. The Japanese are never to be trusted. They are still the enemy.

infernorock11 10 months ago
@infernorock11 But America was the ones who dropped the bombs, were they not? Theyre the ones who decided to target the civilians! The children, the unarmed, the people who never got a chance to defend themselves. Only terrorists do that! Terrorists such as Hitler, Al-Qaida etc. How can you blame mankind for something that your own country is responsible for? I would say that makes you incredibly ignorant! This is probably the worst way ever, that a country could "win" an already lost battle.

infernorock11 10 months ago
@infernorock11 Oviously there will be civilian casualties! But once you start targetting them you suddenly become a terrorist. How can you defend that and how can you call me ignorant when you are ignoring the facts :S I never said anything about wars in general. Obviously the world would be much better without them but the leaders use different methods. Targetting civilians is the worst.
DoggyC 10 months ago
@DoggyC i know it was fucked up how they killed all those civilians. but they did it on a base. and where els will you use a nuclear wepon? I agree that the U.S goverment shouldnt have done that. but in those times everyone thought diffrently, you have to understand that. Everyone was more ignorant back then. All that mattered to them back then was to end the war. oviously they did it. Dont pretend for a second if japan had that technology they wouldnt use it. kamikaze missons.enough said
infernorock11 10 months ago
@infernorock11 No they didnt you idiot. Look your sht up again. These two cities were considered "virgin cities" because all the military cities were gone and bombed pretty much to the ground. The bomb exploded on Hiroshima was on a bridge and was deliberately targeted at civilians.

kentamitchell 10 months ago
@TheJafrikan That's the point moron. You achieve enough results to make the facist regime in charge see the consequences of their continued refusal to surrender and end the war.
200k is a pathetically trivial number compared to how many millions facist Japan and their Nazi allies killed. And frankly it's far less than how many would end up dying if there was a ground invasion, not to mention Japan would be half occupied by the soviets.
logan0178 9 months ago
@logan0178 And where are your sources? From Truman's famous "million" number?
Lets not forget the utter destruction of tokyo and the numbers associated with that. Lets ALSO not forget that the military didnt even know what hit them until after the war.
TheJafrikan 9 months ago
@TheJafrikan They didn't know what hit them until about thewar?Bullshit.Truman called a press conference announcing the use of the A bomb 16 hours after Little Boy exploded.(The "rain of ruin" speech) Or look at the front page of the New York Times Aug 7,1945.
Ground invasion? There's a monument on Okinawa, listing the dead from that battle. 240,734 names. Kyushu's garrison was >x10 larger. DO THE MATH.
kentamitchell 9 months ago
@TheJafrikan From the war crimes tribunal as well as any number of international sources. It's common knowledge, except to the common Japanese because you morons get whitewashed text books in schools. The very fact you have the audacity to parade around such lies and defend the undefendable facist Japanese regime is proof of your cluelessness.
logan0178 9 months ago
@logan0178 you failed to post any internatonal sources and commited a StrawMan fallicy. Great one bro.
Where have I lied? Why WOULD I lie? As you said, the facist Japanese regime cannot be defended. What YOU need to do is stop parading your nationalistic American views.
TheJafrikan 9 months ago
@TheJafrikan Lol I've already said it's from the warcrimes tribunal. You just totally ignore facts because the facts don't fit with your retarded fantasy where Japan is somehow the victim when in fact it's one of the most malicious and vicious genocidal regimes in history, matched only by the Nazis, who were their allies.
logan0178 9 months ago
@logan0178 What fantasy?
Who said that Japan is the victim? Please dont misquote me. Regardless of the Japanese military, the CITIZENS of the two cities were innocent and INDEED victims. Let us not forget that.
TheJafrikan 9 months ago
@TheJafrikan The records of Japan's atrocities are common knowledge and well documented. You just persist in your fantasy where Japan was the victim. Japan was training its own citizens to fight to the death against the allies.
If the bombs weren't dropped and the war didn't end tens of millions of Japs would've died. So the bottom line is you retards that are against the bombs either are too stupid to realize that or want more Japs to die.
Or third option, you support Jap atrocities.
logan0178 9 months ago
@logan0178 Find me documented proof of this happening in Hiroshima or Nagasaki. As far as Im concerned, Ive been to Japan and spoke to first hand accounts.
Secondly there is far more evidence supporting that Japan was on the verge of surrender. Not only is your "tens of millions" number a complete bullsht lie and fallicy, but you have just proved that you are a racist asshole. Whats funy is that you continue to talk about Japanese war atrocities when this bom had nothin to do w/ it.
TheJafrikan 9 months ago
@TheJafrikan Verge of surrender? NOT HARDLY!

@TheJafrikan "bullshit lie"?
I refer you to the conclusions of Edwin Reischauer-he was born in Japan, was Harvard's *only* PhD in Japanese studies before the war,and served 5 years as US ambassador to Japan. He concluded that if not for the A bombs, the Japanese death toll would have reached ten million.
Vice Admiral Onishi (IJN Vice Chief of Staff) "If Japan is willing to sacrafice twenty million lives in special attacks, victory is still attainable"
kentamitchell 9 months ago
@kentamitchell So you disregard everything concluded based on the peace feelers and the GOVERNMENT, NOT the military, but the GOVERNMENT circle.
This discussion is over, your sources are just opinions and not facts.
TheJafrikan 9 months ago
@TheJafrikan LOL! You need a short lesson in 1945 Japanese Constitutional Law. FOUR members of the J cabinets "Big Six" were active duty officers: 2 Admirals and 2 Generals.(Yonai,Toyoda,Anami& Umezu). So the military had FOUR vetoes over any government action.
I suggest you read the cables btwn JForMin Togo& JambUSSR Sato. As late as 8/2/45 after Sato asked Togo tostate J peace terms,Togodeclined.J govt had not even begun to negotiate.
kentamitchell 9 months ago
@TheJafrikan There was only ONE J govt authorized peace feeler-that of JambUSSR Sato's attempt to seek Soviet mediation.
kentamitchell 9 months ago
@TheJafrikan *Sigh*.OK,Imdealing with a slow learner here. The J military was in near complete control of the government: 4 members of the cabinet were active duty officers-2 Admirals & 2 Generals. If any of them resigned, they could force the formation of a new government
kentamitchell 9 months ago
@TheJafrikan Wow you moron this stuff is all over the net and in libraries. It's common knowledge. What you want a document proving earth is round or that it revolves around the sun?
Go look up an atlas you clueless douchebag.
Japan's killed 4 million Chinese, 4 million from the East Indies, and more than 2 million from vietnam alone and that doesn't even include the philipines, korea, and other south eastern asian countries and Russians.
logan0178 9 months ago
@logan0178 You're in the right ballpark, but you're *understating* the case.Max Hastings puts the Chinese death toll1937-45 @ btwn 10& 15 million and another 5 million more civilian deaths throughout Asia.
kentamitchell 9 months ago
@kentamitchell Yeah if you count starting at 1937 that is true.
It's indisputable that Japan was a murderous genocidal power during WW2 barely eclipsed by their Nazi allies. It's an insult to all the victims of Japan to imply that somehow it was a victim.
Blame the Japanese causalities on the true perpetrators, the Japanese government.
The moral of the story here is if you don't want your citizens to die then don't go around starting genocidal wars and lose. My 2 cents.
logan0178 9 months ago 2

@Jaiyeson My uninformed opinions? statistics do not come from opinions Any numbers I’ve given is from sources which I’ve seen in books or online. This is a waste of time cause of seen these numbers many times.
Perhaps someone has made a mistake?
Just to be clear (I believe you said 150,000 Pacific) what is your number of battle deaths per theatre? Europe & Pacific, Don’t give me a breakdown, just your final tally of each please so there is no misunderstanding.

Is over a million your own opinion?

Jaiyeson 11 months ago
@Badwolf182
Jaiyeson 11 months ago
@Badwolf182
lol you dumb ass.

@Badwolf182
Jaiyeson 11 months ago
@Badwolf182
(cont)
Jaiyeson 11 months ago
@Badwolf182
Jaiyeson 1 year ago
trying to justify atomic bombing?? omg I don't know if I should laugh or worry
birokoilias 1 year ago
@birokoilias People like u act like civillians are the only ones who can be innocent. What about all the innocent young men who were drafted into the war with Japan and died? What about the estimated MILLIONS more who would have to be drafted to fight a grueling land war? Being picked at random to have your guts hanging off barbed wire sounds about equal to radation poisoning. The OLD Japan murdered 7 MILLION chinese during WW2 but you were saying something about atomic bombs?
Jaiyeson 1 year ago
@Jaiyeson these bombs devastated the land and filled the environment and surviving people of those and other regions of japan with life-long life-thratening health problems like mutations and cancers, so the drawbacks of atomic bombs aren't just the people instantly killed by them. So 1) no it wasn't worth it. 2) You cannot predict the casualties of the war if this bombing did not occur. and 3) under any circumstances targeting such bombs to cities filled with civilians is a crime of war.
birokoilias 11 months ago
@birokoilias
Jaiyeson 11 months ago
@Jaiyeson Estimate from when? 150,000 died taking the islands? Who and what islands?
1Dougy85 11 months ago
@1Dougy85
Jaiyeson 11 months ago
@Jaiyeson Yes I know how they estimated. I just wondered where you got your estimate from, all services of 100,000 and (150,000 died) Somethings a little off I'd say since the US lost 92,000 in the whole Pacific war including Pearl harbor.
"Japan was commiting genocide on a scale far worse then the Nazi's" ? Don't think so.
Without getting technical on the definition of genocide the Nazis murdered more than the Japs.
1Dougy85 11 months ago
@1Dougy85 Actually your numbers are way off here are the numbers.Which anyone can google.
Army ground forces 41,592
United States Air Forces 15,694
Navy/Coast Guard 31,485
Marine Corps 19,733
Unidentified Theaters- Army 39
And over 45,000 MIA which means they died. Cant count your body when you get hit with a mortar shell or are taken prisoner and then executed or sub is sunk etc etc. (cont)
Jaiyeson 11 months ago
@Jaiyeson 113,000 is from other causes in Pacific, Europe and USA. Pre battle estimates didn’t include sickness or accidents and is what we are talking here. You want to count someone in your numbers who went for a swim and got eaten by a shark or drove off the road and died in Hawaii then OK. Dead is dead but not part of battle dead or estimate
1Dougy85 11 months ago

Your sources?
Jaiyeson 11 months ago
@Jaiyeson I read Johnson before. Did he imply Japan committed genocide on a scale far worse than Nazis? No he did not, you did. Its not nice to make things up to support what you pull out of your ass. This is what Johnson said
It may be pointless to try to establish which World War Two Axis aggressor, Germany or Japan, was the more brutal to the peoples it victimized. The Germans killed six million Jews and 20 million Russians; the Japanese slaughtered as many as 30 million Filipinos,
1Dougy85 11 months ago
@1Dougy85
Johnson doesnt have to imply it. He is telling you they killed more civillains were killed over a longer time. That doesnt imply that its worse it tells you it was with facts. 26 miilion vs 30 million. The 30 million is worse when it comes to civllian deaths.
Jaiyeson 11 months ago
@Jaiyeson Most estimate China’s dead at about 10,000,000 or lower. 23 million is far higher but if it makes you feel better knock yourself out. Remember it doesn’t mean “murdered” by the Japanese. Estimates include death by all causes. The next lower is 15 million Chinese dead broken down to 6 million by Chinese Nationalists, 4 million murdered by Japanese, 250,000 by Communists, over 2 million by famine & disease, over 2 million as collateral war damage in battles, air raids etc.
1Dougy85 11 months ago
@1Dougy85

Quoted from the historian Chalmers Johnson
"Germans killed six million Jews and 20 million Russians [i.e. Soviet citizens]; the Japanese slaughtered as many as 30 million Filipinos, Malays, Vietnamese, Cambodians, Indonesians and Burmese, at least 23 million of them ethnic Chinese. Both nations looted the countries they conquered on a monumental scale, though Japan plundered more, over a longer period, than the Nazis."
Jaiyeson 11 months ago
@Jaiyeson Malays, Vietnamese, Cambodians, Indonesians and Burmese, at least 23 million of them ethnic Chinese.
Notice 6 million Jews and 20 million Russians for 26 m and 7 Asian countries for a total of 30,? What of Poland, Yugoslavia, Romania, Greece, France, Czechoslovakia, GB, Netherlands, Belgium & others?
28 million civilians and 14 million military in Europe = 42 million. 18 million civilians and 5 million military in Asia = 23 m for 65 million total war dead.
1Dougy85 11 months ago
@Jaiyeson Nazis murdered around 15 million civilians of which 6 million were Jews. Up to 20 million if you include 4 million POW. Japan murdered 6-7 million.
Another quote from Chalmers Johnson you might like,
Every day I imagine an Iraqi man my age — 75 years old — saying to his son, “Son, your mother and I have talked it over. For the sake of our dignity, for the sake of our self-respect, go out and kill an American tonight.”
1Dougy85 11 months ago
@Jaiyeson And what has ''old'' japan got to do with the nagasaki and hiroshima atomic bombing? Are you saying that because japan murdered civilians in the past, it seems fair to have her civilians murdered as well? wtf man..
birokoilias 11 months ago
@birokoilias
Jaiyeson 11 months ago
@birokoilias
Jaiyeson 11 months ago
then it seems that you believe the end justifies the means,we dont agree on that. and dont keep talking about land invasion because that would never happen, it would be too risky for the usa. plus you're from the country that sended the bombs-its harder for you to be objective on the topic, so whatever..
birokoilias 11 months ago
@birokoilias
Jaiyeson 11 months ago
@Jaiyeson educate myself? m8 your pro-war thinking is not correct by default. mature and respect other people
birokoilias 11 months ago

Yes educate yourself. I am not pro-war. I think peaceful solutions should aways be reached first. But unlike you I am not un-realistic. When a country is commiting genocide and then ATTACKS your country what do you do? Peacefully protest them to stop killing your people? You are the one who needs a lesson in respect. Since you do not respect people had to do in a horrible situation. Tell me, how would you have ended the paciffic conflict without A-bombs?
Jaiyeson 11 months ago
@Jaiyeson Japan attacked our military bases. WE committed genocide against the women, children, babies, old people..ect. We are no better than they are. All that you named that the Japanese goverment did in China, ect. was NOT committed by any of the people that I just named. We murdered them.
meetman57 11 months ago
@meetman57
Jaiyeson 11 months ago
@Jaiyeson The 10 million civil deaths. was committed by the Japanese goverment. The Japanese people were a defeated nation the day that the bomb was dropped. Not a single one of those deaths that you named was committed by the week-old baby asleep in its cribb. Or the little girl playing with her puppy in her back yard, or the old gray headed couple sitting on the park bench holding hands. Not one of the deaths that you named.
These people were murdered with no way to defend themselves.
meetman57 11 months ago
@meetman57
Jaiyeson 11 months ago
@Jaiyeson I agree that people are FORCED into war. But little children are not. Fighting soldiers is bad enough..but they are soldiers. Little babies are not. Hitler killed millions of people just because they were jews...we killed thousands just because they were Japanese. All of those people you saw with the bamboo poles were in JAPAN...not the United States. They were NO threat to us what so ever. America is paying for those sins. We are a falling empire and a joke to the world.
meetman57 11 months ago
@meetman57 A little childs life is no more valuable then an adults life. They are both equal period. In addition, They are soliders does not mean they are disposable people. You say that like its a justification for their deaths when all it is, is an increase in the chance that they will die. Are you aware that Japan still had occupied territory in other countries othen then Japan? Are you even aware that Japan ended up killing just over 30 million civllians alone in the war? They were a threat
Jaiyeson 11 months ago

Jaiyeson 11 months ago
@Jaiyeson I would save a five year old child. Our country is on the downfall because of these sins. Our flag is being burned around the world, our dollar is worthless, our schools have police walking the halls, and I could go on for hours. Our country is just as dirty as about any on earth.

Finally "the Allied bombing campaign against Germany killed about 600,000 German civilians throughout the war. War is not about choosing between good and evil, it's about choosing the action that is less evil to win." How many times have protested against carpet bombing? Have any post on forums about it? Didnt think so.
Jaiyeson 11 months ago
@Jaiyeson You just made my point for me! Bombing during the war yousay killed about 600,000 German civilans..I doubt that number, but lets say you are right. The key word here is "During the war" Untill the day the Germans surrendered, our bombers was catching flack from antiaircraft guns. Japan had nothing that could defend its self from the Super fortress bomber. The Geneva Convention states that "Any target that cant be defended can not be attacked. Murdered!

1Dougy85 11 months ago
@meetman57
and war is all about murder.
Jaiyeson 11 months ago
@Jaiyeson The day that the bomb was dropped, Japan was no threat to our country at all. They had no Navy, merchant Marine, their army lay dead on the island chain to Japan. Even the aircraft that dropped the bomb was not fired on because thay had no wepon that could reach it. They were defeated. No land attack was needed...it was just a matter of time before they would be forced to surrender. Our boys copuld haqe went home and waited. It was just plain cold blooded murder.
meetman57 11 months ago
@meetman57 They were a threat to our country. You can find old new reels that the japanese made showing them preping civies in bamboo charge drills and suicide bombing missions. Emperor Hirohitos own advisor presented him with a report begging him to have Japan surrender due to the casualties they would suffer if a full land invasion took place. In addition, Japan did not want to surrender because they wanted no condtions attached. I.E. they can build up their military strentgh again. Google it
Jaiyeson 11 months ago
@Jaiyeson That is the most silly thing that I have ever heard of. Did you say that Japan wanted to build up their military? With what? Only 14% of Japan even had electric power. No merchand fleet, so they could never get oil for planes or even ships. The factories was laying on the ground. No medical supplies and no way of getting any. No food and no way of getting any. They couldnt build a dog house if they wanted to. The filmeyou saw was made during the early war years. Murder!!

@Jaiyeson The Small Island country has the same sq. miles as the state of Montana. IT had no air force, navy merchant fleet, the bulk of its arny laid dead on the pacific islands. How stupid!! WE murdered babies, children old people , sick people, people who couldnt defend themselves. murder!
meetman57 11 months ago

@birokoilias If Truman cancelled the plans for Operation OLYMPIC, well before the end of '45,millions of Japanese civilians would have starved.
kentamitchell 11 months ago
@birokoilias Hiroshima was the headquarters of the Japanese 2nd General Army under Field Marshal Hata
43,000j troops were in the city; 20,000 died.

@Badwolf182 I can only hope that someday, you will educate yourself.
I find it vastly preferable that 200k died @ H&N rather than several million in an invasion and/or blockade.

@kentamitchell Tell me if this is fair: To get you on your knees, someone kills your kids and your wife. Is this justifiable?
kozeel 1 year ago
@kozeel That anology fails completely. As SecWar Stimson said "The bombs were our least abhorrent choice"
What better option did Truman have? Compromise peace? J military retains power; plans PacWar 2
Invade? 240,000 died on Okinawa. Kyushu's garrison was >x7 larger. Do the math.
Blockade? How many MILLIONS of J civilians would've starved (along w/100,000 Allied POWs & 100,000civilian internees) before god/man hirohito gave the order to surrender?
kentamitchell 1 year ago
@kentamitchell Here my dear friend is not understanding the difference between "casualty" and "murder". When soldiers die in war, it is called casualty but when civilians are killed, it is called "murder". So to avoid millions of casualties, US decided to murder a few hundred thousand?
kozeel 1 year ago
@kozeel What you fail to grasp is that MILLIONS of J civilians would have died in an invasion and MILLIONS more would have starved to death had the war continued to the end of 1945.
kentamitchell 1 year ago
@kentamitchell No doubts, there "could have been" millions of casualties in the war but the US decided to "murder" few hundred thousand. Who can justify that?
kozeel 1 year ago
@kozeel whats done is done, hiroshima got what was coming to it and its a sad thing really that not every one deserved to be shredded by this atomic monster but from what i understand it was the easiest option.

@kozeel Anybody who bothers who bothers to closely examine Truman's other choices.
Little Boy killed approx 20,000 J troops. A very good day's work for the 509th Composite Group.
kentamitchell 1 year ago

Jaiyeson 1 year ago
@Jaiyeson When did I say Japanese govt. is/was innocent? When did I support all the kills that Japanese made? Japanese govt., the King, the soldiers deserved to be treated like that. But I'm STRICTLY against killing civilians. Civilians include - innocent people, women, kids, animals, etc. Do you think we should support killing innocent people? What do we call it when atomic bombs were dropped on H&N? Collateral Damage? I am and always will be against murdering civilians.
kozeel 1 year ago
@kozeel
Jaiyeson 1 year ago
@Jaiyeson A soldier is prepared to fight, kill or die. Soldiers are equipped with weapons and they are "aware" of the fact that they could get killed in war. They are prepared to kill or get killed. Secondly, without killing soldiers, a war cannot be won. Now can we keep the "civilians" out of the mess please? Can we both agree that civilians are not supposed to die in any war? They are not prepared to die, nor to kill. UNDERSTAND THE DIFFERENCE??
kozeel 1 year ago
@kozeel
Jaiyeson 1 year ago
@Jaiyeson A stuntman knows that he can get killed while doing a stunt. A wrestler knows that his limbs may be broken/twisted while wrestling. An electrician knows that he may get electrocuted some fuckin fine day. A soldier knows, he may die in war. Civilians: men, women, elders, kids, etc. don't expect to die with an atomic bomb. What you are trying to say is this: A terrorist may kill thousands, so to get him, it is fair to blow up a whole city with atom bomb. Justified?
kozeel 11 months ago
@kozeel
lmao Civilians know they can die if their country is at war to you dumb ass.
Jaiyeson 11 months ago
@kozeel
