I think he uses very thin strings to achieve that singing fretless-like sound... It sounds a bit like a plucked cello sometimes...

he is playing a 5 string bass. that last string is the smaller addition. im not sure if he is in solo tuning or standard, which would make a difference in the sound.

I play the double bass in a musical school in Poland. first time when i heared Legendes it was exactly that what i was thinking about. i always thought i dont need to be very good teoretically because to make a song i need couple sounds in good harmonic, but that what mister Garcia-Fons is doing needs a very very good technic and somethimes its so fast. thank you very much for this music. i have some ideas and maybe one day i will show you this project. jackthecase

Hi uses two picups: the full circle and a pickup designed exclusively for him in dennmark. I wrote him about that and he told me he used just the full circle for a while but I just can´t have a decent "arco" sound with it. He uses only Bosé systems for his concerts. Ive also watched a rack full of effects next to him and Im pretty sure he is constantly switching between full circle and the other mic. The Arco sound its not anything like fullcircle!
