Yes, Canis Majoris is huge, but the galaxy is at a much higher scale in size.

The sun isn't going to explode. It's going to expand and it may or may not reach the Earth when it expands. But after all this starts happening we are fucked anyway since the Sun will shrink into a white dwarf the size of the Earth.
All the known gas giants both within and out side our solar system are all smaller than their stars. So far there are no gas giants any larger than a small star so it's pretty unlikely to find a gas giant that big but yes there are more possibilities in andromeda because it's much bigger than the milky way.
dude.. what you're talking about is a dwarf star, not a giant. when a normal star uses up its hydrogen and begins fusing helium it must expand in order to maintain its gravitational balance, or else it would collapse. this is called a gas giant. once helium is also used up, the giant star will expel its remaining outer layers of gas, leaving an inert core.. this is called a dwarf star. as for the vy cma, its highly possible that theres a bigger star somewhere out there.

The sun isn't going to explode. It's going to expand and it may or may not reach the Earth when it expands. But after all this starts happening we are fucked anyway since the Sun will shrink into a white dwarf the size of the Earth.

All the known gas giants both within and out side our solar system are all smaller than their stars. So far there are no gas giants any larger than a small star so it's pretty unlikely to find a gas giant that big but yes there are more possibilities in andromeda because it's much bigger than the milky way.

dude.. what you're talking about is a dwarf star, not a giant. when a normal star uses up its hydrogen and begins fusing helium it must expand in order to maintain its gravitational balance, or else it would collapse. this is called a gas giant. once helium is also used up, the giant star will expel its remaining outer layers of gas, leaving an inert core.. this is called a dwarf star. as for the vy cma, its highly possible that theres a bigger star somewhere out there.
