  • Does anyone have any colored commercials for the 1970s version of the Mystery Date Game, originally introduced in 1965?

  • This commercial would be one of my very favorites from the 1970's. This advertisement for Milton Bradley's Game -- "Battleship" -- was aired on television in October 1978. A Brilliant 10!! The reason: the mixture of classic opera and two people playing the game in a loud manner. Well Done!!

  • I actually have the first version of the electronic form of this game.

  • This is from around 1978-1979. (SHHHHH!)

  • LOL! Imagine actually playing Battleship at the opera. Classic!

  • Commercials were so much better back in the day.

  • Hah! I forgot about THIS comercial. (I was looking for another one.) Oh wow...

  • thanks..I remember it!

  • I love the juxtaposition of high culture--the opera, probably Wagnerian--with the middle class past time of Battleship. It's a comment on what's really important in life.

  • Cool flashback; thanks for posting this.
