you cant reach everywhre mate the basic thing is ppl of india is lack of civic sense.... and if ur so aware then start campaign to make the aware.... thatll be a gud idea....
You are very right. One cannot reach everywhere but can sincerely make efforts. That is what precisely I have been doing last few years. You may kindly view my nearly 4000 messages posted on Google Group Right to Information Act 2005 addressed to higher authorities including Prime Minister and President of India on varieties of national issues. I make suggestions, lodge complaints and then religiously follow up. That is what I am doing on retirement.
Not only the 'discussion' but your to-do list would keep us all healthy too. We can go either Westewrn way of charging for garbage collection from every door step OR as you suggested re-instate the cleanliness habits which I remember my village 'faliya' neighbor practiced. I believe, We have lost so many such things which we taught to the Humanity before enslavement by british and can re-invigorate the society back with help of Vigilant and caring senior citizens like yourself.
Vaghelabd- Your cynicism is not part of the solution. YOur resources would better serve if they were part of the solution. I've seen such filth for last 40 years(my age) but never seen an honest campaign like nirmal gujarat to root out the filthy streets and corners. Would request all Gujaratis to participate in the campaign and be part of the solution instead of being cynical and negative. Then we can give MR. vaghela run for his money (literally running around to find one such filthy place)
Not to spit on roads, not litter in public places, not to dump garbage on roads, segregate dry & wet garbage are the real steps that are needed. Keeping my house clean and putting garbage in my neigbourhood is not the solution to keep our India clean. I am also against use of coercive measures to teach the tender minds of the importance of cleanliness. Let us appreciate the fact that Humor and Cynicism both are part of the expected actions by the public servants. Healthy discussion is welcome.
Noted your comments. Thanks for the honest feedback. My only request would be to look at ALL my videos and kindly give me the feedback. I have experienced filth not only in Gujarat but in the entire country having stayed at no. of places in India during the last three decades. To me, Nirmal Gujarat drive is nothing more than a slogan. What needs to be done in Gujarat and in entire India is concrete action to stop creation of filth by educating the citizens.
Not only the 'discussion', your proposal would make all of us healthy. Adopting Western solution of West management where its a paid-for-service may not work because cleanliness habit is one of many sanskars the society lost during british enslavement and seseless aping of urbanization post-british years. So, You already know what needs to be done, but how to do it may only be revealed by experimenting and nirmal gujarat could work with help volunateers like yourself.
