I have long cited Young At Heart as my favorite movie; can't help putting it on the VCR at Christmas for a comfortable trip down memory lane. Gratefully, Mr. Sinatra had the original ending re-written for a happier conclusion rather than the fate John Garfield met in Four Daughters.

Undoubtedly a timeless film filled with heart warming romance & meaningful love, it surprises you then when you cant recall a single time they kissed (part from the cheek), just goes to show a passionate romance does not have to be show in such 'passionate literary terms'

When we said goodbye to people like these, we said goodbye to class.

But Miss Doris Day you still hold that ounce of class left in this world, the world will not only lose you, it will lose the many good things it stood for.

Oh, what a horrible plot, and you get only one brief sorta duet with Frank and Doris. Just catch the superb musical solos performances and be done with this dreck. No wonder Gig ended his life gig. He just got plain shafted here. Shame Doris, shame!!

First heard the song "As Long as.." in the movie "Oliver" where it was a battered woman staying true to a multifaceted villain. What a different take. It's a beautiful song, but I believed it as a kid, took it into my persona and made a mess of my life. Living for someone else is supposed to be unhealthy these days, but it's kept me on the planet several times.

Many critics said Doris and Frank looked like they were acting in different films because their approaches and styles were so opposite. I can their point and yet I think this is a wonderful film and has stood the test of time. Many people assumed Day and Sinatra did not get along on the set--why I do not know--but they enjoyed working with each other and he was very protective of her.

i love this movie. Frank Sinatra and Doris Day had such a great banter between the two of them. My fave scene was the one in the train station where Lorie tries to stop Barney from leaving. I loved what Frank says to her. It was like...

I love it! Yet it makes me sad because you ignored one of my favorite scenes in the movie (everyone does). The one where Sinatra gives her that first small kiss, when she's frosting gingerbread men. It's one of the cutest kisses ever!!! Despite it being just a peck Sinatra (the look in his eyes!) and Day make it waaaay amazing. Le sigh.

Have you seen Four Daughters starring the Lane sisters ? Sinatra's character dies - as he was supposed to - but Frank refused to die ! That always makes me smile - I guess Frank got whatever he wanted !
