@stiffeg I own a Volvo and I very pleased with it! It's not new, it's quite old, and it has saved my life on more than one occasion! There are lots of people pleased with theirs, but that is your opinion.
It's an Audi-Saab-mix with a Jag-ass. Only the hood is real Volvo DNA . I see some 544 in there. Why not use that in the rest of the car as well. This concept is saying: Volvo want to do what others do we have no other reason to exist. This concept is just a collection of some wacky style details that the designers dare to call Swedish minimalism. Don't say it's a special car just create one as designers should do. Back to the drawing boards and make a VOLVO!
as a design study (with the grill excepted) I think the concept lacks execution and traditional volvo design traits. scandinavian luxury shouldn't be conflated with generic design.

At least Volvo has it right with interiors. New Volvos' interiors are a definite step ahead of the rest.
Thankfully this is just a CONCEPT car, and the actual production model (if there is one) will be more toned down and will have more of Volvo's look and lose the silly Space Mountain light-up grille.

i was a little turned off by the front end, but this is a concept after all. True. it is more minimalist, and Scandinavian. and i can see the link from previous generations. This design will be criticized, but i believe you guys have a deeper understanding of what the future for Volvo is all about. A very nice iteration in the design language.

as a design study (with the grill excepted) I think the concept lacks execution and traditional volvo design traits. scandinavian luxury shouldn't be conflated with generic design.

Great design indeed, volvo definatelly shows the right way and aim in high class society ...after new s60/v60 it's clear volvo mission what do they attemp to achieve with concept universe - purity, satisfaction, high tech elegance, quality and safety...go ahead Volvo.

I like this concept. Especially the led front is so futuristic. Would be a great volvo car for the future
And guys, stop crying about the volvo cars from the 80's and 90's. that's gone. We don't live in the past where cars were ugly. And to everyone who is complaining about the rear light. That's the 21th century design of volvo, look at the V60 and S60. Very great, sporty cars.
We don't live in the past, but a bit in the future.

@ghostfalls Cars may have been ugly in the '80s and '90s but now they're even uglier. At least cars actually had defined lines back in the day. Now everything is always streamlined and body-colored and looks like shit.
At least Volvo has it right with interiors. New Volvos' interiors are a definite step ahead of the rest.

Especially the front is fucking ugly as hell. Seems rather like A8 and the rest of the pack now have one competitor less.

Thankfully this is just a CONCEPT car, and the actual production model (if there is one) will be more toned down and will have more of Volvo's look and lose the silly Space Mountain light-up grille.

awful design, part infinity, part toyota, that front end grill and tiny headlights, so so ugly. lost all the personality and character of what used to be a volvo.

I think it looks great. The snub nose is characteristically Volvo. Need to start competing with the Germans in the luxury sphere. Everyone loves to be seen in a car that looks different and stands out. Lets go Volvo!

i was a little turned off by the front end, but this is a concept after all. True. it is more minimalist, and Scandinavian. and i can see the link from previous generations. This design will be criticized, but i believe you guys have a deeper understanding of what the future for Volvo is all about. A very nice iteration in the design language.

doesnt look like a volvo. looks like part mustang, part bentley and part bmw. ugly front end. somebody started drawing it, and nobody wanted to say they didnt like it, so it went to a concept
