They put a friend of mine in with 3 other guys to 1 cell and the 1 dude was in for murder- my friend was in for writing wally world a bad check at 16 yrs old and not showin for court- he was pulled over random traffic stop at 18 learned he had a warrent ended up at 26th- that place is crooked as hell- these young punks have no clue till its to late they dont understand that once there in nobody cares and nothing is fair!

My brother whos a regular there told me about some horror stories. You have to claim or become a "bitch" Dont do stupid stuff and end up there. 25th and California is the corner to pick up your screw up family or friends when bailed.

It is really a no contest, as over 70% are black, 25% Hispanic & less than 5% white. While racism is still an issue in there, its alot less as back in 1998, but still an issue. The best bet is to read a book & stay low. I did legal work, so I traded doing appeals & Mandamus filing for trade of commissary or money on my books. But if you have nothing to offer or not "clicked up", just keep to yourself. Always somebody will try you. If you punk out, its hell. You defend yourself, usually, your ok.
but alot of the guards are also kinda biased, meaning they turn a blind eye to alot of what goes on. You have 90% of the worst Chicago has to offer, and less than 10% innocent. Not trying to start racial shit, but its a fact white people have issues in Cook County Jail, same as black people have issues in Menard Illinois.
