@imaDUCKIE1 According to wiki your wrong. (+) "Jay-Z's material, on the other hand, was commercially released in a cappella form. Although that work was copyrighted, it was released for the implicit purpose of encouraging mashups and remixes."

I like Jay Z and I like the beatles. So for me, I like this project regardless of if anyone says "Forget jayz, the Beatles are the best" or vice versa
Just to clarify; Jay-Z DID in fact sue the guy who made "the grey" album, but the guy got off of it because he agreed to give it out for free so he can't make money off it. This is an amazing album, and it's something to greatly appreciate.
Say what you want about jay-z he will try to help any body out in the game and work with anyone weather the original track produced by eminem, the shout out to talib Kweli or the fact he didn't sew the shit out danger mouse. Partially because this album is dope as fuck
@likenem I have no clue if Jay-Z knows how to sew, but the reason he doesn't "sue" Danger Mouse is because he released the a capella version of this album for people to use for remixes and mash-ups.
I actually agree with octopussy. This album isn't perfect, it was never meant to be. Dangermouse only did it to prove he could. It was an artistic venture and not so much a musical one. In that regard, he succeeded brilliantly. The music is secondary to the concept. This album is important because it changed the way we look at music entirely, not because it created brilliant music.
@jimih64 i think GeoVII meant because of the history behind this album.... There was a huge protest in 2004 because EMI (the recording label) sent a legal threat to DJ Dangermouse to cease the distribution of this album...The public started mass distributing the album in Feb of 2004 to protest against it... this album revolutionized and changed our views about what music could be, whether as mashup or as a lone recording..
@GeoVII YEA BOI YEA DOGG I HEARD DAT I BEEN TO PRISON AND SHITS SO I KNO WHAT THE FUCK IS GOIN ON AND YEA HE ALL LIEK TRYIN TO BE AN ARTIST AND WHUTKNOT NOT A MUSICIN ALL LIKE BEIN AN REMIXER NOT A RAPPER SO FUCK THAT SHIT RESPECT
I will disagree. I am not a JayZ fan, I am not a Beatles fan. I do not like rap, and even I can say that this album was a work of great ambition, and that the product is something to be admired.
I'm listening. Technically most of this album was poor. The drums are generally over compressed and sound garbled. The tracks were literally rushed and forced to fit: some of the vocal tracks aren't timed properly and there is a lot of random mixing and scratching that usually dosent fit the theme of each respective track. I even know that danger mouse himself thinks the same way! His music has improved sooo much since this popular album. However there are 2 amazing tracks!
@nightpwner I BE DA MUSIC MAN DO WHUT DA MAN CAN DRINKIN COKE OUTTA DA CAN DANCI DA CAN CAN SO HOT U NEED A FAN CALL THE RAN MAN CAUSE HE DONE RUN FAST
what are you talking about? the beatles couldntve been mixed by a better dj.. and good for apple??? ya now some rich suit made more money he doesnt need just because a musician sampled another musicians tracks.. that happens all the time
Listen to this once and only once, both you and akaMarkavelli. Paul McCartney, the remaining Beatle with talent, had no problem with the album. He performed with Jay-Z and Linkin Park to show that he did not approve of Apple's actions. Paul is one of the earliest remixers in the business (look up his stuff with the Fireman or Twin Freaks), so he knows what goes into the making of an album like that. Point of fact, he enjoyed it, but legally he's not allowed to take that stance. Don't mix b w/ p.
