The Sound of Philadelphia!!! Its an amazing piece of quality recording session...Its still make me feel real...Super dooper...Its simply beautiful...reeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaalllllllllll music
Teddy! Thank you for sharing your gift of song and inspiration with us!... everytime we play your songs you are dancing and singing in Heaven! Till we meet!
Growing up I wanted to MARRY Teddy Pendergrass......I wasn't born until his solo album came out.........But from looking at my mom's album covers I knew He was the ONE........And that VOICE the BAND and those Back Ground Singers.I grew up in the late 70'S......So I know A LITTLE SOMETHING about GOOD MUSIC and THIS IS GOOD MUSIC.My Mom passed GOOD MUSIC down TO me so I'm Passing It DOWN to MY SON.......That Way GOOD MUSIC WILL NEVER DIE.Thanx For Posting/Sharing Such AWESOME Music With The World!
Wooo!!!! Oh my gosh! I'm sittin' here at work, with tears in my eyes, about ready to jump up from my desk and shout and dance!
So many sweet memories this song served as the backdrop to. If I could go back in time and stay in that time, the period in which this song was a hit would be my choice. I would do it just for the music.
There was/is nothing like "The Sound of Philadelphia." They don't make music like this anymore.
For all those tearfull breakups that keep some wondering what happened. This is the right song for those moments , Powerfull heart shaking lyrics that penetrate your hearts like an invisible arrow.........A great 70's song by a great group of talented people.... Good arrangments powerfull lyrics indeed.......
December 1973 we met and danced to this song and she ripped my heart open. I still listen to it and the feeling in my chest makes me think I am on fire inside.
This when they real Music.. I'm glad my soul has never left the seventies, I was less chaotic, musicians used real instruments complete with the talent to use them, and their songs had a story to them. No derogatory remarks concerning women and lastly, they were ARTICULATE!!!
I was lucky for my brothers listening to this when I was only 7 and therefore I got into this so so young sitting around playing the congas my brothers left behind - what memories - sign
Just got back from Majorca. Hotel entertainment ( The Sweet Sensations) group from Cape Town, SA, sang this song superbly, this cemented my relationship with our lass (Yorkshire saying) , Can't beat the good old 50's/60's
Why is freaking life so damned short, by the time one's getting wise and understanding it all ,you gotta go, it sucks.
Oh , man , this tune brings so many good memories.

Harold Melvin and the Bluenotes were out of this planet.
When you listen to all-time soul classics, it is so dynamic.
Harold Melvin and the Bluenotes with the gifted and uplifting, Big Teddy Pendergrass made the powerful and tuned Bluenotes out of this world.
RIP, Brother Teddy Pendergrass and also Brother Harold Melvin.
