I practice speed, precision, and scales for about an hour a day, the other hour or so of playing I do each day to learning covers or just messing around, and I'm self-taught, whatever. I guess the point I'm trying to make is if you want to be able to play something on the guitar or any instrument, you will be able to it will just take time and practice.

This is actually a relatively easy sweep picking lick because it rolls off the fingers nicely, but the tone and the way he plays it so clean make it sound impressive.

They are quite common :-P The diminished is overused in playing today... except by Loomis and good shredders :D For me, the diminished shapes up and down the neck sweeping (3-6 string sweeps) are the most difficult.
