Rodeo animals are specifically exempted from some state laws, others use the 'livestock' loophole, others simply don't 'regulate' certain animals so they're not protected from cruelty. Those who harm other living beings, whether human or animals, are coddled by our country's questionable laws.

I am not completely against rodeo's but i am sure just like for racing and other industrys that more strick controls to stop obviously blood thirsty behaviour. But the way our laws for individual states are set up, each state makes its' own laws and many states specifically exempt livestock from cruelty laws, which is what we are working to change through awareness. Livestock food producers don't want to implement humane laws because they think it takes away from their profit margin, and entertainment such as rodeos/circuses use abusive methods for control and better visual performance.

Please my cousin runs the dees rodeo and we ride with f&f down in southern ok. Animals are more likely to get hurt with running freely than the arena. And maybe if ya spent more time saving those that need rescue from starvation and the poor bulls and horses that do fighting in Spain and stuff that would be different stock contractors take very good care of them. I've watched horses walk right though a electric fence, and then kick the living daylights out of one another, and not so much as flinch. Some horses can't be ridden and so you put them in a rodeo, I have yet to see one instance of abuse in a rodeo that I've been to,and I work hard, very hard at rodeos as the little scum on the ground, and I've seen many people get hurt very bad, me one of them. And please block these comments about "I hope they all die!!" thats not right.

You will run into guys like him, the "Drugstore Cowboys" as I've always known them, I'm not saying I am a "cowboy" but I do ride, and what-not. Most folks here own between 1-100 horses or mules and eveyone knows how to treat a horse right. It's a shame to all horse owners when someone abuses they're animals.

The public would be shocked and outraged if they knew the number of animals that are injured and killed in rodeos.

I am not much of Rodeo person. I hate it. Animals deserve Respect and kindness. There alot of injustice that goes on. If they did this to themselves they would see how much pain the animal is in. (Things need to change) There should be Rodeo law inspector and fines for not follow the rules.
Ok obviously there are some rodeos out there that don't mistreat their animals but THESE rodeos clearly are mistreating them. If you're part of a rodeo that treats their animals kindly then kudos to you, thats great but it doesn't mean you can't deny the abuse going on here, or that you shouldn't try and stop it.
Me and my sisters went to this rodeo, not this exact one. but lucky went we went nothing bad happened, All the horses broke loose in the wild horse race. One thing that was kinda funny, was i duno if you saw it. The "Money the hard way" when they set one bull loose with 100 bucks on his forehead. When we watched it, the bull took revenge on the immates! tossing and throwing them all over! :)

generalizing all rodeos to be like this is absolutly insane!!!! I work in a veterinary clinic as well as own horses,dogs, and cats. i entirely argee the way this situation was handled was wrong. However the PBR, NFR, and most all rodeo organizations do NOT allow such things to happen. They treat the animals with love and respect! Just because some ppl treat animals like this and call it a rodeo doesnt make rodeo bad it make these ppl bad! Go after them not the sport.
@toptjustintime1 Most of the rodeo abuse we've documented is by PRCA, the largest rodeo association. We have footage of shocking at their NFR. This prison rodeo is put on by PRCA. Some people? PRCA officials, contestants, judges and stock contractors. That's more than just 'some' people complicit in the abuse.

Rodeo animals are specifically exempted from some state laws, others use the 'livestock' loophole, others simply don't 'regulate' certain animals so they're not protected from cruelty. Those who harm other living beings, whether human or animals, are coddled by our country's questionable laws.

I am not completely against rodeo's but i am sure just like for racing and other industrys that more strick controls to stop obviously blood thirsty behaviour. But the way our laws for individual states are set up, each state makes its' own laws and many states specifically exempt livestock from cruelty laws, which is what we are working to change through awareness. Livestock food producers don't want to implement humane laws because they think it takes away from their profit margin, and entertainment such as rodeos/circuses use abusive methods for control and better visual performance.

Please my cousin runs the dees rodeo and we ride with f&f down in southern ok. Animals are more likely to get hurt with running freely than the arena. And maybe if ya spent more time saving those that need rescue from starvation and the poor bulls and horses that do fighting in Spain and stuff that would be different stock contractors take very good care of them. I've watched horses walk right though a electric fence, and then kick the living daylights out of one another, and not so much as flinch. Some horses can't be ridden and so you put them in a rodeo, I have yet to see one instance of abuse in a rodeo that I've been to,and I work hard, very hard at rodeos as the little scum on the ground, and I've seen many people get hurt very bad, me one of them. I've watched him, more than once give a calf mouth to mouth and save that animal. He'll dump hundreds of dollars into his herd to make sure they are healthy whether he has the money or not.

@vachamps People who fight dogs and roosters and bulls also take care of the animals right up to the point when they are slaughtered for entertainment. We don't respect that kind of "care" either.

They have to leave the horses in the wild where they have to be!
When you are sitting on your computer, and someone gets in and is taking you by your ears and bite in it, you won't like it. And when the person is doing something on your balls, you won't like it again! so don't do that by horses or onther animals, first try it on yourself before you are doing it by a horse or other animal!

When i go to rodeos and i see a horse or a calf get hurt and they keep hitting it is all i want to do is run in that arena tie a rope on all the people that hit the animals and see how they like it!!!!!!!! Next time if that happens im just going to yell HELP THEM! if they don't listen i would want to getmy money back! i did not go to see animals get hurt or killed!!! It pissesme off when they do that stuff to the helpless creatures!!!!!!!!!

I might as well be an 'abuser' too cause my horse has got tangled up before! He fell and it wasnt MY fault. Like I've said time and time again, accidents happen, and people and animals panic, and things go wrong. Stop blaming. Also those tazers feel like a little prick to the horses because they are bigger and they're skin is thicker. Its not abuse

It is very sad that this happens. Even with all regulations and that stuff. It dont prevent all the abuses.
I am not much of Rodeo person. I hate it. Animals deserve Respect and kindness. There alot of injustice that goes on. If they did this to themselves they would see how much pain the animal is in. (Things need to change) There should be Rodeo law inspector and fines for not follow the rules.

Ok obviously there are some rodeos out there that don't mistreat their animals but THESE rodeos clearly are mistreating them. If you're part of a rodeo that treats their animals kindly then kudos to you, thats great but it doesn't mean you can't deny the abuse going on here, or that you shouldn't try and stop it.

Me and my sisters went to this rodeo, not this exact one. but lucky went we went nothing bad happened, All the horses broke loose in the wild horse race. One thing that was kinda funny, was i duno if you saw it. The "Money the hard way" when they set one bull loose with 100 bucks on his forehead. When we watched it, the bull took revenge on the immates! tossing and throwing them all over! :)

generalizing all rodeos to be like this is absolutly insane!!!! I work in a veterinary clinic as well as own horses,dogs, and cats. i entirely argee the way this situation was handled was wrong. However the PBR, NFR, and most all rodeo organizations do NOT allow such things to happen. They treat the animals with love and respect! Just because some ppl treat animals like this and call it a rodeo doesnt make rodeo bad it make these ppl bad! Go after them not the sport.

@toptjustintime1 Most of the rodeo abuse we've documented is by PRCA, the largest rodeo association. We have footage of shocking at their NFR. This prison rodeo is put on by PRCA. Some people? PRCA officials, contestants, judges and stock contractors. That's more than just 'some' people complicit in the abuse.
Rodeo gives itself the bad name.
